Yep, the Nelson class BB looks great in this pic!

Awww, cute ickle Warspitie need a tummy rub?

    HMS Hood Teaser

AA is fine without the UP launchers. She has better long range AA than Nagato and Colorado but very limited close range protection.

    HMS Hood Teaser

You don't need trainable torpedo tubes for a BB BC drive by. Defiantly, I'm sure she'll eat a bunch of citadels from 16km+ in passive T9 standard battles.

    HMS Hood Teaser

I'd kill for 178mm - 129mm casemate on Warspite. Dreadnought armour scheme >>>> all or nothing in WOWS. Get within 12km asap, angle and let your super high HP, accurate guns and RN super heal(?) do the rest. ...and if that fails just push a friendly Leander, Fiji or Edinburgh out of smoke. They won't mind. Would Hood even fit in RN CL smoke?

Hood has better armour than Warspite for WOWS gameplay, just watch out for BB shells from 16km+. http://www.hmshood.com/ship/hoodspecs2.htm

About damn time. Edit: Ah yeah. Battlecruiser tech tree line with torpedoes HYPE! Many had the roundel for aerial recognition. Here's Hobart in 1940.

    Neptune & Minotaur AA

Minotaur AA probabilities. Minotaur DPM Stock range (km) Max range (km) Stock BFT mAA BFT + mAA + AA Mod 3 152 mm/50 Mk XXVI 118 6 8.6 7.58% 9.10% 11.66% 17.49% 76.2 mm/70 Mk VI 315 5 7.2 27.82% 33.38% 31.90% 47.85% Oerlikon 43 2 2.9 30.58% 36.69% 34.66% 51.99% Stock AA is decent, many ships can only dream of 28% at 5km. (Includes manually selecting squads and November Echo Setteseven signal flag) Skills. BFT. Best bang for buck. Adds 6% from 5km, very useful. AFT. Good for the support player (protect those DDs trying to cap and BBs at spawn more effectively) mAA. Good for aggressive players (Hakuryu death squads get spotted at ~5km from the surface) I'd go for something like this > http://shipcomrade.com/captcalc/1000000001000010000011000000001119 Equipment. AA Guns Modification 2. Easily the best upgrade, always useful for shooting down spotter planes. Auxiliary Armaments Modification 1. Your main 3" AA guns are super fragile, take this when CVs are common. AA Guns Modification 3. Take this when CVs are common, it adds another 8% at 5km+. Note: Neptune and Minotaur are very different beasts.

    Quick poll about Stealth Firing

Does the stealth fire mechanic dominate ranked and team battles?
  10. 152mm HE pens everything at tier 4 to 5 without IFHE, it's only effective agasint tier 6+ BBs and tier 8+ cruisers.
  11. creamgravy

IFHE or CE first for 10 point Perth Captain

Perth's so much more than a static smoke camper like Kutuzov. CE buffs the effectiveness of all the weapons in your arsenal. HE, AP, torpedoes, hydro, spotter planes etc.
  12. creamgravy

IFHE or CE first for 10 point Perth Captain

IFHE is sweet but always take CE first, a surface detection of 8.6km and 5.9km for planes is amazing. You can sneak around anywhere, disengage from fights quickly and even stealth torp approaching ships. Basic 10 point captain > http://shipcomrade.com/captcalc/1000100001001010000000010000001119 Standard light cruiser > http://shipcomrade.com/captcalc/1000100001100010000000100010000119 Light scout cruiser for hardcore DD players > http://shipcomrade.com/captcalc/1000100001001010000000100000001119 Don't forget, Smoke Generator Modification 1 turns Perth into a (OP?) beast. The prize is worth grinding to rank 8, here's my stats from the last 30 days.

Thoughts on Tier 6-10 British Cruiser AA

    Here's Des Moines and Minotaur vs T10 planes. Minotaur DPM Stock range (km) Max range (km) Stock BFT mAA BFT + mAA + AA Mod 3 152 mm/50 Mk XXVI 118 6 8.6 6.89% 9.10% 11.66% 17.49% 76.2 mm/70 Mk VI 315 5 7.2 25.29% 33.38% 31.90% 47.85% Oerlikon 43 2 2.9 27.80% 36.69% 34.66% 51.99% Des Moines DPM Stock range (km) Max range (km) Stock BFT mAA BFT + mAA + AA Mod 3 Stock + dAAF 127 mm/38 Mk32 + 76.2 mm/55 426 5 7.2 24.88% 32.84% 30.51% 45.77% 74.64% Oerlikon 43 2 2.9 27.39% 36.15% 33.28% 49.92% 77.15% Both have a 25% chance to shoot down planes every second at 5km out the box. That's great. However DM gets the 'I win button' to melt planes if the CV wants to swam you. It's also worth noting large 3" mounts are vulnerable to HE spam, both ships can be stripped of raw power in the mid/late game. I've had many games with no 3" turrets left after the first 5 minutes in Minotaur. Here's Neptune. Neptune DPM Stock range (km) Max range (km) Stock BFT mAA BFT + mAA + AA Mod 3 152 mm/50 Mk XXVI 86 6 8.6 5.02% 6.63% 8.50% 12.75% 114 mm/45 RP41 Mk VI 107 5 7.2 11.27% 14.88% 19.07% 28.61% STAAG 254 3.5 5.0 26.11% 34.46% 35.39% 53.09% Oerlikon 84 2 2.9 31.01% 40.93% 40.79% 61.18% A stock Neptune only has a 11% chance at 5km but fully upgraded it surpasses both with 2 durable DP auras (800HP per turret) and a metric ton of self protection. It's a durable beast.

Thoughts on Tier 6-10 British Cruiser AA

Full the analysis for Leander to Edinburgh. Neptune and Minotaur are AA gods. Here's the stats for my fully buffed Neptune vs tier 10 planes. Spoiler

The Grozovoi saga (nerf, actual status, news...)

Here's the probabilities to shoot down a T10 plane (2,226 HP) per second. Ship Stock @ 5km Max @ 5km Max + dAAF @ 5km Max + dAAF @ 7km Grozovoi 7.77% 15.46% 46.39% 22.68% Fletcher 6.48% 13.50% 40.49% 24.02% Gearing 5.84% 11.97% 35.91% 20.01% Z-52 9.87% 18.62% 18.62% 11.68% Minotaur 25.29% 47.85% 47.85% 47.85% (Max = All the upgrades, skills, flags and clicking the squad. Stock = Range upgrade and clicking the squad only) Destroyers are usually the ones spotting bomber squads at 6km, so probability at 5km is the most useful metric for random battles. And don't forget, ships loose AA mounts very easily when HE spammed. Here's my rough guide to percentages. Red colour is reserved for WG/Moderator use only - RogDodgeUK

The Grozovoi saga (nerf, actual status, news...)

Grozovoi still has the same AA capability at 5km as a fully buffed Minotaur.

    Yugumo vs Fletcher

Fletcher is OP rather than Yugumo being UP.

    British Heavy Cruisers

Kaiser and König delete cruisers quicker than Bismarck, tier 4 won't make it any easier. Lines are always more rewarding with low tier UP ships to grind though, just make sure there's good stuff from tier 6-7.

Algérie, Henri IV and Duca d'Aosta preliminary stats

Is there more info in the AP, like Krupp or Detonator threshold?
  20. creamgravy

Duca D'aosta for release as premium

    Here's the typical AA setup for tier 6 cruisers vs tier 5-7 planes. Duca has the 2nd or 3rd best AA for tier 6. (Kirov has the best tier 5 AA btw) Ship Probability per second With Defensive fire Range (km) Cleveland 16.27% 48.81% 5 Aoba 10.95% 32.85% 3.7 Nürnberg 9.41% 28.24% 3.5 Duca d’Aosta 8.91% 26.74% 5 Molotov 8.80% 26.40% 3.2 Budyonny 6.86% 20.57% 3.5 Leander 7.16% 7.16% 3.5 Perth 3.89% 3.89% 5
  21. But was it the first ship with the "pyramid" layout? Stick it in reverse and someone might mistake you for a stock Furutaka...
  22. Apparently KGV's low bow was specifically designed so all front guns could engage fast Italian boats straight ahead and close up. (Bow on brawling!) It wasn't good for Atlantic speeds and they went back to a high bow on the Vanguard. No love for the ultimate derp ship? (why isn't this in game yet?)
  23. creamgravy

Duca D'aosta for release as premium

The AA is usable for tier 6. Here are the probabilities for shooting down the average tier 6 plane per second. Duca d’Aosta DPM Stock range (km) Max range (km) Stock BFT only mAA only Max Stock + dAAF BFT + dAAF Max + dAAF Aura 1 - 100mm/50 Mod. OTO 20 4.5 6.5 2.05% 2.70% 3.46% 4.16% 6.14% 8.10% 12.47% Aura 2 - 37mm Breda 46 3.5 5.0 6.75% 8.91% 8.64% 10.37% 20.26% 26.74% 31.11% Aura 3 - 13mm Breda 18 1.2 1.7 8.60% 11.35% 10.67% 12.80% 22.10% 29.17% 33.54% Buffing the 37mm Breda guns is a good option. Duca d’Aosta doesn't look like a HE spammer so using the skill points on BFT and AFT seems sensible. A 9% chance rising to 27% between 1.7km and 5km is very decent. You'll shoot down 1, maybe 2 planes before they can drop without defensive AA fire or take down 2-4 with it on. Compared to Perth and a few others.

Algérie, Henri IV and Duca d'Aosta preliminary stats

Looks good. Just grasping at straws, they've got to balance out that 7% fire chance somewhere.
  25. I see at least one Graf Spee every game and it's the 7th most played ship on the server looking at warships.today. If your one of those 700 players, please stop shooting me.
