French Cruisers-Looking Good!
creamgravy replied to anonym_u5USg8CcK96I's topic in General Discussion
Jurien de la Gravière. Meh, it can't match Weymouth, Dresden or Chikuma. Friant. Fantastic, will seal clubbers choose it over Bogatyr or St. Louis? Duguay-Trouin. Another powerhouse. Émile Bertin. Competing for best tier 5 cruiser. I'm very impressed, tier 3 to 5 are potential keepers. -
We all know what happened when they gave Graf Spee owners exclusive campaign content. That went down really well

Why WG is so biased against anything British?[Espesialy LEANDER]?
creamgravy replied to Anthoniusii's topic in General Discussion
Leander got a 13.2km range to stop it stealth firing from 13.3km. I wouldn't mind WG buffing Leander/Perth with the real range now they've removed it, trying to hit a small, manoeuvrable ship at 13-15km is tough. -
It's exactly like the Hunt for Graf Spee campaign with time locked missions > http://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Ship:The_Hunt_for_Graf_Spee I'm 100% certain you'll get Hood for free at the end ...but It looks a harder grind. The 'use Spee/Hood to do X' missions seem to be contained within the main campaign line, so there'll be no repeat of the mess from last time. These Hood specific missions are super easy though. 'Be in the top 5 XP earners 2 times', 'do 60,000 damage', 'Hit 3 citadels' etc. Only people that buy Hood will be able to unlock/grind the new Bismarck model and maybe the other 3 we haven't seen yet. Hood”The old birds”Skin sounds like the wreck version too.
-
I'm still not 100% sure tbh, the Chinese 0.6.5 ST leak isn't very clear. https://sea-group.org/?p=2798&lang=en One of the missions on the first stage is to cause 60,000 damage with Hood, you need to complete all missions to get Bismark skin etc. It looks like the time limited Spee Campaign. Grind missions = Get Hood free at the end (many will need premium time to achieve this) Buy Hood = Grind those awesome looking skins.

The additional armour dropped her by 1.2m, deep LWL is towards the top of the 305mm belt and not in the middle. Hood was called "the largest submarine in the Navy" for a reason
-
We get a Piorun achievement badge too! Can't wait for the campaign.

I'll be knocking out a few of those secondaries when they finally release one of these badboys.

An analytical look at Duca d'Aosta(see disclaimer)
creamgravy replied to Deamon93's topic in Cruisers
Here's the base probability for shooting down a Nakajima B5N2 per second (average tier 6 plane) Range (Km) Base prob with dAAF 4 1.57% 4.72% 3.5 5.19% 15.58% 1.2 6.45% 16.84% A 2-5% chance at 4km is... rubbish. Maybe you'll shoot down 1 or 2 dive bombers before they wreck your AA? Add AFT, BFT, flag, AA guns mod 2 and Auxiliary Armaments Mod 1 (don't forget to focus/select squads) Range (Km) Buffed prob with dAAF 5.8 2.70% 8.10% 5.1 8.91% 26.74% 1.7 11.08% 28.90% Your still not fantastic at protecting others but a 9 - 27% chance at 5km is decent self defence. They'll loose quite a few planes and should think twice before striking you again. Full captain skill analysis. A good hybrid build might look something like this. > http://shipcomrade.com/captcalc/1000001000000010000010000010100119 -
4 points?
-
It was a Roon and they're now immune to BBs with 15" guns and DD calibre secondaries because reasons. (As is the Hipper) The best thing Hood can do is load HE and kite away.
-
There's plenty.
-
Consistent damage is a problem for all 1.8 sigma 4x2 ships. Pen isn't a big deal, look at the top damage dealers on Warships.today. (Shinnyhorse, Ish etc) Tirp, Bis and Gnei have torpedoes/secondaries to supplement damage output. Hood should and probably will get a 2.0 sigma to match the other tier 7 BBs.
-
Not's not quite true, many broadside ships can't be citadelled at close range. KM cruisers are especially good at trolling like this. I still have nightmares about trying to citadel countless broadside Nürnbergs in my Warspite before understanding what was going on. At high tier the skill is getting close enough to go 'full on noob'.
-
Yep, low tier French CLs are very thin with zero armour. They're essentially destroyers at mid/close range, shoot AP through the nose and HE when showing broadside
-
It wont be, defensive fire has been added because of the UP launchers
-
It's low tier counter meta play, these guys your trying to shoot are pro.
-
Yep, Hood looks fine to me. Giving it a sigma 2.0 for a bit more consistency is all she needs. What's happened to iChase youtube content over the last few months?

British Tier VII Premium Battleship Idea
creamgravy replied to mr3awsome's topic in General Discussion
Hood and Rodney are 'shoe in' T7 premiums but I wouldn't mind seeing this design somewhere. -
I saw one on the enemy team too, yoloed to get good look with free cam Performance looks good.
-
D'Aosta should drop banana skin torpedoes and fire green shells.

Let's a go WG!

USS Kidd, tier 8 Fletcher class destroyer coming soon.
creamgravy replied to creamgravy's topic in General Discussion
0.6.5 (1-2 months) It'll be popular for people that can't grind/buy a Benson with a dedicated captain and want a US tier 8 DD for competitive play. -
USS Kidd, tier 8 Fletcher class destroyer coming soon.
creamgravy replied to creamgravy's topic in General Discussion
AA spec Sims, Fletcher and Gearing dominate CVs. They're more effective than most cruisers. For example, I shot down ~60 Saipan planes in only 3 ranked CV games with Sims. It's just a shame CV MM is rare. Kidd isn't for your average player looking to grind credits/captains in random battles ...unless the CV rework is amazing! -
USS Kidd, tier 8 Fletcher class destroyer coming soon.

Kidd has God tier AA with 5 guns and decent HP (16700) over Benson. Both have the same surface detection.
