Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
creamgravy replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
Monarch is the tier 8 tech tree BB. You'll have to pay £30+ to sail the OP tier 7 KGV (or Nelson but I suspect they want a 3x3 from tier 7 to tier 10) -

It looks like KGV is a tier 7 premium, even though PoW and DoY would be more desirable. I'm not buying one. (Nelson could also be the premium) Not only do we get paper guns we also get a paper name for the 'free' ship. It's like calling the tier 7 KM BB Prinzregent Luitpold. I mean come on WG... Jellicoe? Beatty? King Edward VIII? Even Anson or Howe, it's not like we'll ever see those as premiums. Oh and another thing... Premium tier 7 KGV is better than tier 8 Monarch. It's another Belfast up. -
https://twitter.com/WoWS_Japan has just posted the.... tier 8 RN BB. (sorry I just threw up a little)

The light cruisers are sweet. Tier 5 - HMNZS Achilles (1944) AA light cruiser. 6 x 6" guns, 2x4 6km torpedoes. Defensive fire replaces spotter/fighter plane. AA Achilles (1944) DPS Range (km) 102 mm/45 QF Mk XIX (4) 38 5 Mk III Bofors (4) 30 3.5 40 mm Vickers 2-pdr. Mk VII (4) 56 2.5 20 mm Oerlikon (5x1, 5x2) 48 2 Tier 6 - HMAS Hobart (1945) AA light cruiser. 8 x 6" guns, 2x4 torpedoes. Defensive fire replaces spotter/fighter plane. AA Hobart (1945) DPS Range (km) 102 mm/45 QF Mk XIX* RP52 (4) 60 5 Bofors Mk1 (3), Mk3 (5) 71 3.5 40 mm Vickers 2-pdr. Mk VII (2) 28 2.5 Oerlikon (2x1, 1x2) 13 2 Tier 6 Reward premium - HMAS Sydney (1941) Standard cruiser. 8 x 6" guns, 2x4 10km torpedoes. A standard cruiser with no smoke or heal but with a 15km gun range, HE/AP and 10km torpedoes. AA Sydney (1941) DPS Range (km) 102 mm/45 Mk V (4) 10.8 3.5 20 mm Oerlikon Mk IV ?? 7 2 12.7 mm Mk III (3) 6.6 1.2 Tier 7 - HMCS Ontario (1941) AA light cruiser. 9 x 6" guns, 2x3 10km torpedoes. Adds defensive fire and HE to Fiji setup. AA Ontario (1946??) DPS Range (km) 102 mm/45 QF Mk XIX* (5) 75 5 Bofors Mk III (13) 98 3.5 40 mm Vickers 2-pdr. Mk VII (4) 56 2.5 Tier 8 - Didn't Australia have a super Dido planned or something?

All of them. Reason. Tier 8+ game modes and maps are absolute garbage. (Actually Minotaur is rusting in port with a 0 point captain as I don't needed the credits)
-
I'm surprised too. ...and no it's not gimmicky, only Ryujo has a better win rate > http://wows-numbers.com/season/id,7/

TASM does stack with hydro and vigilance for torpedoes. It's the ship assured acquisition part doesn't stack. Noraml ship assured acquisition = 2km. TASM ship assured acquisition = 3km. Hydro ship assured acquisition = Whatever your hydro stat is, for example 5.88km for the Großer Kurfürst. For torpedoes it's a percentage. For example here's a Großer Kurfürst spotting Shimakaze torpedoes. Normal torpedo detection = 1.7km (9.7 second reaction time) Normal detection + TASM (20%) + vigilance (25%) = 2.5km (14s reaction time) GK hydro = 4.02km. (23s reaction time) GK hydro + TASM + vigilance = 6km (34s reaction time) TASM is still garbage compared to Concealment System Modification 1.

De Grasse and HSF Admiral Graf Spee are the latest tier 6 premium cruisers, so putting Duca on sale wasn't unexpected. She's quite popular and could over take Molotov for games played on the EU server. Getting it for £8 was great, she'll tide me over if WG overcharge for Gallant (I'm not buying a stock tier 6 DD for £16)

REQUEST for Premium Ships (wishlist)
creamgravy replied to 1MajorKoenig's topic in General Discussion
We've got WIP stats for the 5.25" guns and Dido is very different to Atlanta, she's more like a small tier 7 Leander. (Atlanta and Flint have quad torpedo launchers btw) AA is average at best, absolutely nothing like Atlanta. ...but shell arcs should be much flatter than Atlanta making her more usable at a safe(ish) distance, especially with a Leander style troll citadel (only ~25%? the volume of Belfast) DPM isn't far off Belfast and the AP should be able to citadel quite a few tier 7 cruisers at 10km. They should be really, really fun. I'd like Hermione. -
Will RN BB Radar be worst thing ever ??
creamgravy replied to Krikkio82's topic in General Discussion
Nelson is a strange one, many of those features are for tier 8. Even now the main hull is still 32mm when it should be 25mm, like the bow and stern. They could pull a fast one and switch Nelson to tier 8, who knows what'll happen until 0.6.9(?) hits the live server. -
Yep, I want them all.
-
WOWS Leander is literally 1943 Ajax in both specs and premium camo.
-
The tier 3 has the same guns and HE shells as Ishizuchi, actually that's a lie because the RB BB has better HE pen. Bellerophomageddon will be crazy on the first week. The servers might melt from all the fire! I'm going to stick my 19 point IFHE Belfast captain in Orion
-
Ernst Gaede is a fantastic DD for ranked. It's got the best torpedoes at tier 6 and you can bully DDs out of caps with hydro + high HE pool. 6.6km is very usable. I've been really impressed with it (19 point random battle IFHE seal clubber captain)

Will RN BB Radar be worst thing ever ??
creamgravy replied to Krikkio82's topic in General Discussion
So why are T9-10 cruisers extremely popular and have the highest win rates? 2 week stats from https://eu.warships.today/vehicles Genuine question as I hate getting into T9+ maps/games. -
Will RN BB Radar be worst thing ever ??
creamgravy replied to Krikkio82's topic in General Discussion
This isn't correct. Compare Des Moines to Colorado. High tier radar cruisers are essentially battleships. They have huge HP pools, get better healing and can bounce most AP shells. -
Continuing the second CL line discussion, here's what I'd like. Tier 4. HMS Colombo (6 x 4" XIX, no torpedoes) HMS Carlisle (8 x 4" XIX, no torpedoes) Tier 5. HMS Manxman (6 x 4" XIX RP51, no torpedoes) HMS Arethusa (6 x 6", 2x3 torpedoes) HMS Delhi (5 x 5", no torpedoes) HMNZS Achilles (6 x 6", 2x4 torpedoes) Tier 6. HMS Bellona (8 x 5.25", 2x3 torpedoes) HMAS Hobart (8 x 6", 2x4 torpedoes) Tier 7. HMS Dido (10 x 5.25, 2x3 torpedoes) HMS Swiftsure (9 x 6", 2x3 torpedoes) HMS Kenya (9 x 6", 2x3 torpedoes) HMS Blake (4 x 6", no torpedoes) Tier 8. Belfast, Hawke or Z5 (not sure about Z5 specs) Tier 9. Z2 (1950s Hawke?) Tier 10. Neptune or Minotaur. (Either will do) Gun power.

Yep, 2 normal pens and 6 overpens = 14,364. I don't believe it and would need to see the replay. If anything, 2 salvos + detonation at 13-14km, 2 salvos between 2-6km or 1 crazy salvo at 2km.

Ranked is fine(!) this Season (finally)
creamgravy replied to __Helmut_Kohl__'s topic in General Discussion
Play a DD or a small CL like Leander then. You don't have to play a Fuso all the time. -
Spee and Atago have convinced me. All heavy cruisers with slow firing guns should get a heal from tier 6. Buffing the reload to compete with light cruisers is rubbish. For example Aoba would get a normal cruiser heal but the reload goes back to something like 4 RPM.
-
Fingers crossed we get a Dido sooner rather than later. Here's some AA figures for those RN CLs. C/D class. Abdiel Leander Dido 3x3 152mm (Crown Colony, Swiftsure, Hawke) and Blake.

A fitting way to complete the Battle of Calabria mission. Personal missions are great too, they should do that will all premium sales. Why does the Ro.43 spotter only last 100 seconds? Perth gets 180s.
-
Pronti! What to take first, IFHE or CE?
-
GM3D list it as 4700 gold.
