Instead of 20,000 people queuing in Bellerophon, we get 20,000 queuing in Iron Duke? Sounds good. -

Compare it to ALL tier 7 destroyers. It's has Sims DPM, Blyska broadside, sets the same number of fires as Kiev (forget Lenin) AND it's a stealthy torpedo boat to match Kagero (Shiratwho?) I know they want to keep Benson > Fletcher > Gearing progression but sticking a standard J/K/N class at tier 7 is crazy. Crap AA and 10 x 8km torpedoes ain't going to do it. -
Deepwater torps, so battleships can have more fun because if you want to contest a cap, you can't hurt them
creamgravy replied to mtm78's topic in General Discussion
Yep. I'd want a 50% increase in range or speed for not being able to hit destroyers or light cruisers. Shooting torpedoes at a 30 knot BB running away from you is usually pointless, even if they're only 6km away. This first test isn't bad but they're certainly not worth taking over the standard torpedoes unless you can switch ammo like HE/AP. Here's a tier 7 torpedo comparison.- 330 replies

69 to 130 degrees is fine for stealth torping. Gallant has 56–112 and Shino has 53-105 for comparison. (both are worse) The tier 7 has a 2km stealth firing window, 203,000 potential alpha damage with a 5 second reaction time (and the ability to set almost twice as many fires as the tier 8 with guns) RIP everyone else Narrow launch angles a British destroyer trait for balance. -

The tier 7 is crazy OP. 6.13km surface detection, 6 flamethrower guns and 10 Mark IX** torpedoes. How is that not completely broken? -
Probably not. It's a smaller WEP destroyer with old inter war mounts (tier 6.5) Not exactly a straight copy/paste job either. HMS Orbi is unique as she was never fitted with 2x4 torpedoes, your stuck one quad launcher and a 4" Mark V AA gun. (Unless Turkey fitted the second set?) Tier 6 would still be fine though. Weapons. 4x 120 mm/45 CPXVIII (Gallant guns) 1x4 Mark IX* torpedoes (Fiji Torpedoes) Consumables. Torpedo reload booster, Speed boost, Standard smoke. In game AA. Gayret 1946 DPS Base range (km) 102 mm/45 QF Mk V (1) 3 3.5 40 mm 2-pdr. Mk VII (1) 14 2.5 Oerlikon (2x2, 2x1) 19 2 Edit: Wonder if WG would ever do a crowd funded premium?

Welcome back to World of Battleships

There's still a few bugs. It occasionally spazzes out under a full turn etc. But it's more than good enough, I have no complaints.- 15 replies

It's not too bad. Only Shen Yang (tier 4) and Fu Shun (tier 6) are completely different. They have rail guns (need AFT and EM) but all the rest have rapid firing guns with high arcs. Both Shen Yang and Gadjah Madah are under tiered. It'll be interesting to see how they balance them.

Estimated AA values. KII DPS Base range (km) 100 mm/65 Type98 (8) 166 5 "Chi" Type 98 (16) 176 3.5 25 mm/60 Type96 Triple (17) 102 3.1 Go full AA spec and you'll be able to butcher 10 fully upgraded Enterprise bombers before they drop. -

The posters never list real AA stats (usually the A-hull) This is another WG fantasy hull upgrade with 8 Akizuki turrets. The AA will be INSANE with manual AA and AFT. -
Haven't the devs been looking at funnel stripes based on performance for a while? That's why we don't see any in game. (see Anthony vs Gallant)
-
The poster usually has stats from the stock A-hull with pictures from the final B-hull. A-Hull = 4x1, B-hull = 4x2. Thornycroft R-class special at tier 3? Minekaze with 4 x 127 mm/51 Mk7 laser beams at tier 4? Thornycroft destroyer leader at tier 5? Free Anshan at tier 6? N-Class with 6 x flamethrowers and 10 torpedoes at tier 7? Gleaves > Fletcher > Summers regrind? I'll do it!
-
Stock hull is the one shown for all the 'in game' pictures. They don't do different era superstructure hulls anymore, it's too expensive for something most people free XP.

Yep, it's defiantly a Thornycroft type leader. -

It's defiantly a DD with 5 x 120mm BL Mk 1 guns and 533 mm TR Mk I tubes. Tier 5 is perfect for them. What a strange world when we can sail Gadjah Mada but not a famous destroyer like HMS Kelly (she's even on the crest of Hebburn Town F.C!) Ah well, here's Gadjah Mada stats. Guns. She's a crazy fire starter (almost double Benson C hull) with a high DPM (almost Benson C-hull) Torpedoes. Unknown. 10 x 8km Mark XI seems over the top with those guns. 6km Mark VII seems more balanced for tier 7, you'd get a tier 7 Farragut. AA is crap. -

Wonder how are they going to balance Fu Shun with Gnevny and Anshan? True but they'll have to nerf quite a bit to fit her at tier 7. Gallant is a bit OP at tier 6, a full J-Class at tier 7? Hmm. -

Show me German plans to cover Gneisenau with naval 127mm KM40 RPC guns and I'll agree. Until then she's a WG 'what if' fantasy ship to me. -
Go for ze Germans. Z-46 and Z-52 have RU guns (great arcs) with low tier IJN torpedoes (fast reload) and hydro.

British battleships incoming
creamgravy replied to anonym_u5USg8CcK96I's topic in General Discussion
Gneisenau is a fantasy ship* with a real name. You need to buy the real version but we get a free Bismarck at tier 8. Monarch is a fantasy ship** with a fantasy name. We get a free KGV at tier 7 and Nelson will be free if you grind for it. Brits got the better deal. The only issue is KGV won't have historic 'treaty BB' MM and Monarch has a silly name for the class. (Although I'm glad you won't have to suffer super passive games on huge tier 8+ maps all the time) -
I remember watching a tier 6 Mutsuki get crushed by a ST sailing a tier 6 Błyskawica. Hilarious mismatch! Mutsuki is much better at tier 5, now it only gets matched agasint ships like Błyskawica and Belfas. Oh.

As we're not getting RN DDs this year, I couldn't resist any longer. Awesome coastal camo. After playing 2 games if feels like a very weak ship...

We would've seen a ORP Piorun or HMS Kelly premium a while back. -

Tier 7 premiums get a 30% discount everywhere too. 7000 gold with a 1:35 ratio = 245,000 XP. -

On the EU server the standard conversion rate is 1 doubloon = 25 Free Experience. A normal tier 7 premium battleship is roughly 250,000 free XP.
