All battleships can only repair 10% torpedo damage. (Damage is mitigated through the torpedo belt) Only Nelson and Conqueror have no aircraft. (All battleships have short duration aircraft that only last for 90 - 100 seconds) Weakness? It's no different for any other battleship.

That's why I put in quotation marks. Here's the maximum damage Nelson can repair with each heal type. 5 normal heals + flag = 49,896 4 super heals + flag = 114,048 Premium balance comrade. -

https://www.facebook.com/wowsdevblog/ The RN CL superheal (2% every second for 20 seconds) was always staying for Nelson, Lion and Conq. They just lost the ability to heal 30% citadel damage like CLs, it's now a normal BB 10%. The other 'downside' is only 2 charges like the CLs. -

All BB lines are like that, even ze Germans. Tanky low/mid tier, fragile high tier. -

Torpedoes or nothing! The spotting aircraft was removed in 1942 and 35 Oerlikons were added. Easy choice. Being able to torp Bismarck with Rodney is utterly essential and non negotiable. They already have an unused model for a 1944+ premium > https://worldofwarships-eu.gcdn.co/dcont/fb/image/0fac4c44-49f9-11e7-ab90-ac162d8bc1e4.jpg It has no aircraft and increased AA, both tier 7 and tier 8 tech tree variants still have aircraft equipment. I'd make 1945 Duke of York a tier 8 premium with Nelson superheal and 65k HP. -

This is 1943-1944 Nelson with 6 x octo pompoms, 37 Oerlikon mounts and no torpedoes. At this point Rodney had 56 Oerlikons and torpedoes (she never lost them) Nelson got 4 x Mk 2 Bofors and a ton more Oerlikons in Philly during 1945. Wonder if they modelled the extra lower deck armour from 1938? -
The maps are smaller and ships have a higher chance of survival. E.g. Minotaur can sink a full HP Yamato in 60 seconds but will get deleted by everything. Leander can only take off 50% from Warspite in 60 seconds but it's much more tanky and forgiving in return. I'd play tier 10 if they had a suitable game mode for the ships.

British battleship heavy AA guns too weak?
creamgravy replied to Kruzenstern's topic in General Discussion
High tier British BBs have been balanced for weak long range AA. Although I'm surprised the 134mm/50 QF Mk I only has a 4.5km range. It looks like an error that's been carried through, like 57mm Bofors. All 130mm+ DP guns should have base range of 5.2km. Even crappy old ones. -
0.6.9 added a new smoke engine with a truck load of code. It's been configured to act like 0.6.8 but there's a few differences, not just for Perth.
-
It's all under the hood changes that 'hasn't been turned on', all the new smoke penalty values can be seen at https://gamemodels3d.com/games/worldofwarships/vehicles/destroyer For most the mechanics should be no different from 0.6.7 but Perth is unique and won't have have been fully tested. You can replicate the bug in the training room. Make sure your plane spotted to remove any new smoke blob blocking LOS to a ship. I'm undetected and fire a full salvo. (enemy ship and planes are near enough to spot me) I get detected by both ship and planes in my smoke. The new blob blocks LOS to ship but I'm still plane detected. Causing me to be ship spotted too. Finally undetected after 5 seconds.
-
New smoke mechanics have been included in 0.6.9 but haven't been fully activated (i think) Perth has a Smoke Penalty value of 0.42 if you fire main guns (secondaries have a value of 0.0001) After a very quick test in the training room. 1. Ships are spotted for a few seconds longer after going in smoke, esp form planes 2. Perth occasionally gets spotted when firing guns in smoke. Edit. A full broadside makes you spotted for ~1 second. As a work around only shoot 1-3 turret salvos.

Many just focus on the ability of BB guns to pen+citadel BB belt armour at long range. Most of the time your trying to pen slightly angled 25-100mm sections. Nelson is quite compact, in between Nagato and Colorado.

I'm not sold on FP. Most of the fire damage will be mitigated through the super heal and BoS. 1 fire with BoS, flag and dam con mod 2 = 6,180 1 Nelson heal with flag = 28,512 (in 20 seconds) Theoretical Nelson HP with 4 heals = 173,448 (assuming you can heal it all up. The theoretical HP of KGV with 5 heals is 111,320 for comparison) Vigilance or RL would be very useful agasint torpedoes. I'd go for this tank build > http://shipcomrade.com/captcalc/1100000001000010100001010000000119 Survivability Expert adds a theoretical 7,154 to your HP for anyone that's interested :p -

Nelson has decent armour for tier 7. 32mm deck can't be overmatched by 16" AP and it's got a good belt to angle (850mm effective at 25 degrees) -

Or a full concealment Warspite? It still makes no ****ing sense jumping from Queen Elizabeth to KGV. It's like you've accidentally double clicked somewhere and can't get back to Nelson. -
Deepwater torps, so battleships can have more fun because if you want to contest a cap, you can't hurt them

The QE refit is stunning, I have no idea why you think it's crap. ...did they choose her best camo?
-
Most people just free XP A-hulls, it's a waste of money for WG to model them. Besides, everyone knows the early 1930s trucked funnel refit is the best!
-
...So you can citadel popular cruisers with HE. (This is very questionable as even poor BB AP does a better job) IFHE on KGV adds a few 90-100mm sections on popular BBs than you wouldn't otherwise pen, although it's still very questionable. I wouldn't recommend DE.
