Belfast - To keep or to sell ?

Ahhhhhh. That's why they removed Belfast, Perth and MK. This new smoke change is actually a buff to small cal smoke campers. You don't need team mates, radar or planes spotting for you anymore. Larger cal ships just get proxy spotted when they fire!

Looking for some advice from RN CL players

What to do in a standard battle on Haven? 1. Yolo down your spawn point and farm as much damage as you can. 2. Camp behind islands at spawn and shoot enemy players when they get bored. 3. Press Ecs and click yes.

First French DD announced - Aigle (T6)

Check out post 16 for shell arcs. French shells are heavy with good air drag, they'll overtake IJN 128mm shells at ~10km and could be a touch faster to 15km than Cleveland HE. It should be a crazy fire starter.

    if you can't fix it

I'll never give Perth up. You can still buy it from the EU store here >> https://eu.wargaming.net/shop/wows/main/1337/

First French DD announced - Aigle (T6)

Base stats from https://www.facebook.com/wowsdevblog Surface detection with CE. = 6.75km (Average for a gunboat) Max firing range with AFT = 15.4km (Above average) HP with SE = 19,100 (Well above average) Agile has a super low HE alpha. Typo? Wonder what balances it out? A really high fire chance like Cyclone? (10%+)

    New German T6 Destroyer

Yep. The 90 second reload was already great for quad launchers, reducing it to 68s pushes it into Fubuki/Shinonome '7+ torpedoes per minute' range. ...and it has excellent 128mm guns with a 4s reload and 11.6km range. (Gaede has a 5.1s reload and 10.8km for comparison) Maybe it's got German smoke but no hydro for balance?

First French DD announced - Aigle (T6)

A to E group 'four-funneler' destroyers are all around tier 6. I'd use group D at tier 6 (4 torpedoes, 2 per broadside) and group E (7 torpedoes, 5 per broadside) at tier 7 for the tech tree. Although a standard 2x3 layout kinda fits as a powerful tier 6 premium. 150mm Gaede's potential as a gunboat is crippled due to the short range. It's balanced around being a large torp boat. Hopefully Aigle has 'built in' long range guns, like Cyclone.

Perth - To keep or to sell

It's easy to spot but hard to zoom into with no AA guns around.

First French DD announced - Aigle (T6)

Here's the 130mm HE shell arcs from Cyclone (725mps and 34.85kg)

    Preview: New Ships Galore!

It's a German design based around (Gerard Callenburgh) machinery that could be built in Dutch yards. It's not Dutch.

Perth - To keep or to sell

This is my fav Easter egg.

    Fan made Italian tech tree

Wonky Abruzzi was always going to be a tier 7 premium, tech tree heavy cruisers will start at tier 7. A 9.2km surface detection is super competitive, can't wait!

Perth - To keep or to sell

The smoke changes will have almost zero impact for Perth. I think it'll overtake Leander as most the powerful tier 6 ship (no more hydro zerg plays against enemy DDs)

What is wrong with Queen Elisabeth?

Don't underestimate the awesome firing arcs on QE, esp when kiting away. Warspite needs close to 45 degrees to fire all 8 guns (borderline with zero bounces) QE needs 30 degrees to fire all 8 guns (borderline with auto bounce)
  16. 10km concealment, 38 knots and 12km torpedoes. Duca d'Aosta is a ship for RU destroyer fans that don't want to be burdened by MM (i.e. competing with front line DD specialists for scouting and capping) Tier 8 premium CV rentals?? Hmm.

    Minotaur-Class Cruiser / Swiftsure Class

The first time you use superheal on Edinburgh is just hilarious. It's got over 100k HP, a waterline citadel and bow/stern than can autobouce 8" AP. I still have no idea why you don't see them in competitive games, it's a domination God. Top 5 all time British ships. Belfast. (Toxic) Nelson (just as OP Belfast tbh) Gallant. (Powerful but balanced imo) Lion. (Powerful but balanced imo) KGV. (Another tier 8 with broken MM)

    The French Destroyer's Thing

A more compact destroyer that can do 40 knots, has modern 3x2 130mm guns and 3 tubes in a 1x2 config might work at tier 9. Would there be enough for a second fleet destroyer line?
  19. creamgravy

    The French Destroyer's Thing

Le Fantasque might be a little old for tier 9 (early 1930s design vs 1940s kit) Tier 4. Bourrasque (4 x 130mm 1919) Tier 5. Chacal (5 x 130mm 1919) Tier 6. Aigle (5 x 139mm 1927) Tier 7. Vauquelin (5 x 139mm 1927) Tier 8. Le Fantasque (5 x 139mm 1929) Tier 9. Le Hardi (6 x 130mm 1935) Tier 10. Mogador (8 x 139mm 1934) Compared to Russian DD leaders they have better HE but slightly worse AP, arcs and possibly reload. (typical French faction ammo) Do they need a funky consumable to make them stand apart from the main VFM line? Probably.
  20. Number 002, 003 and 004 on the starter menu have reduced salt, they're suitable for anyone. Number 005 has been spiced up to make it more interesting. Number 008, 009 and 010 are so salty they'll make peoples eyes water! All dishes are now cooked on a BBQ for a super smokey flavour that'll last forever.

    Minotaur-Class Cruiser / Swiftsure Class

Swiftsure and Ontario (ex-Minotaur) aren't in the game mate. The tier 10 RN CL cruiser we have is design Z4/A, it's significantly more powerful than those two.

    Future Cruiser lines

It should be. Spee is the only tier 6-7 cruiser that can auto bounce 8" AP anywhere on the hull, can heal CA HE spam easily and can lolpen you back.
  23. creamgravy

    Future Cruiser lines

How about USS Tucson or Fresno for the tier 6 CL? A Flint with no torpedoes, dAA or smoke. I think old Pepsi could work at tier 6 without messing up balance. Spee is a hard counter to any CA and sneaky CLs like Leander and 'Aosta don't care. It would be nice to have a powerful 8" cruiser that doesn't rely on a CL style reloads for once.

1st nerf of Conqueror and Lion published

Yep, they've replaced Khaba as best salt farmers in the game. I was in Lion watching an enemy KM BB getting completely wrecked by a bunch of MKs raining hell fire down apon them. I shoot one HE salvo for a bunch of shatters and no fire ...suddenly the chat fills with salt over RN BB skill levels.
