Where should I aim when Im facing Conquerer?
creamgravy replied to anonym_RGvUdEcxWWvD's topic in General Discussion
Even 33mm auto bounces 18" Yamato AP shells between 0-30 degrees and has a chance to bounce from 30-45 degrees. The Conq was angled more than 45 degrees, Zlaraki aimed for the wide belt and they all bounced. Simple. The same would've happened to an Emerald. Only Hood and Duke of York get special bounce rules for a BB (everything from 30 degrees is a pen, overpen or shatter) -
Gearing has 21mm side plating, 127mm HE shells can't pen it.

0.7.4 King of the Air +AA Defence Expert Achivements

Mine's 50 with a full AA spec Neptune. 55 seems a bit extreme. -
Dallas has always been last of the 3D models.

What T10 Destroyer would you guys most recommend for ranked play?
creamgravy replied to Reckless_Banana's topic in General Discussion
All tier 10 DDs have a surface detection of 5.88km to 11.7km. Shima can't counter spot with hydro/radar or avoid incoming BB rounds when spotted with a massive 690m turning circle. -
There's a 95mm deck that probably doesn't show up on the armour viewer. (25mm weather deck > 89-95mm main deck > 22-48mm citadel deck) As usual the biggest problem is 25mm everywhere, 15"+ BBs can pump out 20k+ salvos at any angle by ignoring your main belt (always feels like a citadel or two) But this is a problem for most tier 7 BBs, granted the others have stealth (KGV) or are too slow to get into trouble quickly (Colorado, Nagato) so I can imagine Ashitaka is pain in the [edited] to play (would've been better at tier 8 like KGV/DoY) Penetration is the least important value for BB AP tbh, your usually just looking to 'lolpen' plating and hit upper belts etc. Overmatch > ricochet > penetration, nothing beats Ashitakas overmatch ability at tier 7. If you like IJN BBs then go for it. If you want historic BC gameplay then Hood is actually bloody amazing (massively underestimated this gem)

Necessity to deselect or prioritize specific maps and game modes
creamgravy replied to anonym_MdaKiQ22r4aO's topic in General Discussion
Yeah I yolo suicide most standard battles or occasionally go afk on maps I can't engage anyone for first 5+ mins (I don't play tier 8-10 anymore to reduce the probability and would give anything to turn off standard battles) Random battles is wows super casual PvP game mode, half the team may as well be afk for all the good they do. Don't take it too seriously guys. -
Does short fuse AP mechanic of RN BBs exist in WoWs?
creamgravy replied to GeneralSavage's topic in General Discussion
KGV has high close range pen (5-10km) and it's about the same as QE/Hood at 15km. Don't underestimate it. DoY gets US cruiser/Hood bounce angles too... Just don't aim for thick BB belts, they've been designed with lower pen like KM BBs. Emile needs to be bow on to ~25 degrees for a BB shell to arm staying on topic.- 16 replies

This thread is pointless without spawn points and caps. Epicenter on Warrior's Path was epic for ranked but stick with normal caps far from each other and it'll suck. What's sea of hope and where's Riposte? That was cool.

About all these premium ships in testing...
creamgravy replied to Shaka_D's topic in General Discussion
I think that's from having 2 BB lines in a row (Pan Asian DD clones don't really count) We also need new maps, esp from T5-8 and for WG to come up with a PvP game mode that suites clunky ship movement. -
They have the same fuses. DoY as Hood style ricochet angles. It's 60-67 degrees compared to the normal 45-60 on KGV. Unless something has changed... Bring on Dreadnought!

Finally a US battleship with longer range secondaries
creamgravy replied to darkstar73's topic in General Discussion
Would there be enough points for high alert though? A secondary build is very skill intensive, 108 seconds with Nov foxtrot and Jack of all trades is rough but probably good enough. -

I like it. Balancing sister ships around a different play style is something they should do with every famous class. We don't want more lazy premiums like Missouri (Adding 'I win' consumables to a silver ship and nothing else) It's to help the ship push in for short periods. Adding 30 seconds to dam con reload for an extra 10s work time is a cruiser buff overall. -
So... any info on that "T-61" German DD?
creamgravy replied to Zogash85's topic in General Discussion
T-61 has a different hull design, it's much bigger and more modern. The designers just used the engines (Don't forget Gerard Callenburgh will be tier 7 like Maass and Isaac Sweers tier 8 like Harekaze) A destroyer that's smaller and more manoeuvrable with the same weapon load out is a significant improvement in this game... Anyway T-61 already has the tier 7 gun reload, 'tier 11' torpedo reload and a 6km surface detection. It's literally a tier 7 ship that's much better than Shira when you add hydro and the broken torpedo reload. -
I just had a really good team, all secondary tasks were complete and a 5 star game was in sight!! Then Alabama spawned, ignored everyone and wiped out the aerodrome from 15km. Didn't even target the remaining 3 forts... Game over man, game over.

Ultimate Frontier any changes im missing?
creamgravy replied to Anthelo's topic in General Discussion
Bots are much more accurate. -
God knows how a random team that doesn't have Z-52s + radar cruisers will win. What can a perma spotted conq or Hindy do against hidden TX ships protecting a cap? CVs will make it interesting, how quickly can a good CV player delete 7 noobs with no AA skills? At least there's no Belfast and everyone has access to these horribly balanced ships.
-
So, I've just got 3 super containers in a row from normal random crates. Has it happened to anyone else today?? Not a bad haul... Okhotnik. 30 days premium. 50 anniversary camo.
-
Will MM balance radar?
-
I'd be happy with tier 6 Cleveland with any MM. 9km surface detect and that reload/traverse is just icing on the cake. The only downside is getting into boring tier 9-10 games, but chasing fleeing BBs the entire game is horrible in most ships.
-
Only seen the video from flambass but tier 8 Cleveland looks awesome. 7s reload!!! Yum.
-
Here's a few that's dirt easy to make and balance. Any J/K class DD at tier 8 with normal, single fire, torps and no gimmicks please. Preferably HMS Kelly in pink camo. HMS Ajax. Riverplate spec, like Leander but drops hydro + good AA for spotter plane consumable (Long duration like Perth)
-
Kami has pre nerf IJN guns, it's basically got CL HE. You can gun down most DDs with it. No idea about BBs, don't really play em. I'm comparing DDs to DDs. Fletchers broken torp reload is the equivalent of giving Musashi a 20s main battery reload, aka utterly retarded. If you think that's fair then every DD should have the torp reload reduced by 25-30 seconds.
-
Mutsuki is the only DD that needs a buff, T22 is significantly better (It's now really good after the buffs, one for DD fans) A few need nerfing (tier 6/7 PanAsian, Fletch torp reload etc) Mahan and Maass are fantastic and need zero buffs. Ogg is fine, the whole RU hybrid DD line just doesn't work and needs a rethink imo.
-
I'd buy Nenohi (3 front guns) at tier 6 or 7 and a tier 8 Fubuki with 3x3 torps (any) and 3x2 guns.
