HMCS Haida leak, coming to ST soon

Final version apparently. -

Harakaze has better guns and Kagero isn't far off in gun power. This hydro is almost worthless and you'd be mad to take it over speed boost (not on separate slots) IJN DDs are better as it stands (assuming the IJN DD player isn't utterly useless as usual) -

They've already been leaked on the RU forum, it's Jutland (1943 Battle, 5-6 guns) and Daring. -

Heavy shells (see AP damage and fire %) and drag rate (0.32ish vs 0.39 for the other RN 120mm guns) will make the arcs better ...but you'd still take Gadjah Mada over Lightning for the DPM and heavier torp spread. Concealment is far less important with 9km+ radar on almost every ship (inc LoYang) A J-Class with 10km torpedoes would be the most fun (and best) DD at tier 8. Absolutely hate these crippled versions, literally the least enjoyable gimmick I can think of. -

Because that's what WG have been testing with Cossack for ages? The silver gunboat* line is always going to be slightly worse than the premium. *These are actually fleet torp boats with the exception of tier 3 and 8. Play hatsu/bucky with 6km torps if you want an idea to the line. It also indicates WG have zero ideas/money left as the RN have destroyer leaders suited for this type of line. Like Cossack, Jianwei, Hardy and the rest. -
Destroyers have the highest damage potential for most ops (flank, get really close, pop smoke and farm bots with torps, citadels and fire) Limit bad players trying to torp spam from range? Or maybe just block IJN DDs?

Why would you even test that crap? I bet they give Lightning 2x5 6km torpedoes to keep line consistency. -

All stats are listed without crew and upgrade modifiers but with best available modules. Hopefully it'll change as Icarus is unplayable with 6km torpedoes. 8km is pushing it these days with 10km radar everywhere, DDs just aren't fun to play anymore. In fact, that's probably me done with WOWS. Don't think I can't stand another gimmick DD line after KM and Pan Asia and this one is the worst. Icarus (or Glowworm premium) should be a stock tier 7 torp spammer with decent 5x2 10km torpedoes, no gimmicks. -

Jianwei isn't far off Kamikaze power levels, T-22 is really good now too. To put things into perspective Jianwei has 6.4km Minotaur torpedoes, Acasta has stock Emerald torpedoes (copy/paste Anthony??) They turned the RN DD line into gunboats by putting them down one tier with terrible torpedoes. Lazy. Why can't we have an excellent line of RN BBs well balanced like Warspite? Why can't we have a line of excellent RN DD hybrids well balanced like Gallant? Jeez. -

Just got Acasta with stock Emerald torpedoes. This line is worse than the RN BBs, super cost effective model/stat recycling with no thought or cohesion. -

I suspect there's a few errors on facebook. They should call it Wolverine, first W batch never had 120mm guns. -

Minekaze reparation with British guns and torps? Tier 8 will be Nonsuch, tier 9 a Fletcher and tier 10 a Gearing. (I'd want WW2 work horse Wishart) -

So WG are just rushing stuff out the door now? Vampire is massively OP at tier 3 with guns that fire 31lb shells (808m/s with 0.353 drag, 5% fire chance, 1700 AP alpha with silly high pen for tier 3 etc) the only 'downside' is 1x3 torpedoes. Valkyrie has better 2x2 torps (faster reload, spread) and guns that fire 35lb shells (811m/s with 0.33 air drag(?), 6% fire chance, 1800 AP alpha etc) Holly crap that's on par with or better than Clemson/Shenyang/Izy (minus tier 3 cruiser torpedoes) WTF is the tier 4 going to be??? -

There's a million variants but only these Greek ships have the unique 4"/41 Coventry Ordnance Works gun. It could be a premium... personally I would've kept it back as a Greek/Pan Europe ship. Use a 27,000 HP Thornycroft speedster or efficient Yarrow as the premium. Speaking of the guns, looks like they copied the stats from Emeralds 102 mm/45 Mk V secondaries. There's no way the 4"/41 fired a 35Ib shell at 811m/s (bit OP for tier 2) Phra Ruang gets worn out WW2 barrel of 664 m/s for comparison. -

RN Destroyer smoke gimmick is slightly shorter duration but longer lifetime smoke and size. Tier 2 emission work time (s)/smoke puff lifespan (s)/radius (m) RN: 15/85/600 Stock: 20/65/450 US: 22/106/450 Pan Asia: 30/70/450 KM: 20/45/450 The tier 2 DD is a Greek build that was taken over by the RN for WW1. WG love these bizarre choices, why not just use the M-class it was based on?? -

I still find it funny a squat dreadnought like Normandie handles better than CLs like Gasoline, just so it fits in with the 'French BBs are fast' line gimmick. That's the first time I've heard someone say Hood should be tier 6. Does LastButterfly even play this game anymore. -

What about that crazy fantasy French dreadnought at tier 6? She can magic up 30 knots with 640 m turning circle, makes all the real BCs look like crap Anyway, it's awesome we've finally got a Mackensen (name reserved for the tech tree?!?) QE still has the best BB AA at tier 6. Secondaries look on par with Warspite/Bayern (shame they only get 7.2km and 15% buff with manual. Ho hum) 14" guns with a 24s reload and 2.0 sigma is actually OK. Tier 6 is the home to real BB monsters like Fuso and Arizona. How about a historic Baden too? -

Here's 3 Five star US DD builds. Ranked (All) http://shipcomrade.com/captcalc/0100000000000011010000000000001119 Most competitive but a bit boring. 3 points left for personal preference. (TA+PT for Gearing etc) Flood and fire. (Mahan to Gearing) http://shipcomrade.com/captcalc/1100000000000011011000100000000119 Classic 'annoying US DD' build and most fun for random battles (esp Mahan B hull) Forget hunting DDs and just spam those 9km torps (sub 60s reload with AR) and guns on larger ships from distance. AA support (Fletcher, Gearing) http://shipcomrade.com/captcalc/0100000000000011010010000000010119 Wouldn't recommend any AA build these days but this one works best in random battles. AFT is often worthless unless you always run with a CV div mate. Your usually the one spotting planes at 5-6km, you've got no mid range AA to buff (always gets knocked out anyway) and don't need more gun range. mAA is absolutely essential as your one of the few T7 ships that can counter/deplane Saipan. -
Maps need buffing.

So, any word on the UK DD line or Commonwealth premiums?
creamgravy replied to That_Other_Nid's topic in General Discussion
Seal clubbing with the best tier 8 DD (that has tier 7 MM) isn't good enough? Nope, can't think of a better job than captaining those two OP clubbers, esp Vampire. Wonder if this is a spoiler? > https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/history/not-historical-maybe-1/ Have these two destroyers been modelled or are the pics is just renders? Acasta class would be tier 2. A 3 gun broadside (same guns as Phra Ruang) with 2x1 torpedoes. Faulknor class would be a tier 3. A 3-4 gun broadside (same guns as Phra Ruang) with 2x2 or 4x1 torpedoes. Does this point to a destroyer leader line with Cossack as premium I wonder? -
How is your campaign "Hit Hard! Hit Fast! Hit Often!" for Admiral William Halsey coming along?
creamgravy replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
I need another captain like I need more camo or signals. Grinding more equipment or captains is a poor excuse for high tier content. -

Seamen is the new resource in 0.9 Although you'll probably need lots of seamen to fill Mikasa. -
Nah. These days sinking enemy ships gives the team more point rewards than wasting time trying to contest caps (for random battles)
-
Victor Lima, India X-Ray, November Echo, Mike Yankee and Juliet Whiskey signals enhance your ammo for $$$. There isn't one for AP so people forget we've always had 'gold' ammo (should we have one for AP??)
