I just purchased the New York, so its to soon to really say. But, with the Wyoming, using AP, I sank 4 ships and achieved 4 Citadel hits in a single game yesterday. Add to that the fact I managed to survive the battle as well, made it that much sweeter. A measure of luck was involved I'm sure, but two of the ships were of the same class as me, so it was a bit dicey for a while there. I like the New York, but the Wyoming is the one I would take to the dance, at least so far. What I will add is that I have found every ship has its strong points, and its weak points. The trick seems to be in not only knowing how to exploit your ships strengths to maximize them, as well as knowing your weaknesses to avoid the situations which expose them. I'm still working on that. Of course all of this means nothing if you don't know just as much about your opponent. I'm no expert, but after a couple months, that's Newbie opinion. Yes, I agree some ships seem to have died at birth. You just move on I guess. Happy hunting
