    I-56 and S-189 Are Back!

https://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Ship:S-189 https://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Ship:I-56 Both wiki entries say they are added permanently to the shop from 17th March 2023 so I think you are safe to wait
  2. Played Shokaku a fair bit in operations as I was using it to get further toward the tier X and also progress the captain. Does well, but in some games you can run short on planes towards the end, particularly the scenarios where red ships clump together, just from the combined AA. Kaga is v good as you note, mostly because of the torp bomber focus and it’s larger reserves, but did take a bit of adjustment moving between the two (possibly different upgrades having an effect on weapon drops, was same captain)

    I-56 and S-189 Are Back!

Will own up to getting the I-56 basically because I’ve been after it for ages, as it’s a unique sub, very difficult to play well, but good in the right circumstances, my mind keeps making Paulo Emilio associations, very nasty unguided 12.5km torps that can only be used surfaced, surface speed is fast, but very slow submerged speed (13km almost standing still!) and guided torps and gun only effective inside it’s surfaced visibility range and torps only up front. Still playing it co op till I get used to it. Like it or not subs are in the game and rather than ignore them it’s better to understand them, same as cv’s Agree about Operations, would be a great place for subs for the good and mostly bad of I-56: https://thedailybounce.net/world-of-warships/world-of-warships-final-review-japanese-tier-viii-premium-submarine-i-56

    I-56 and S-189 Are Back!

Typically they only go to the regular armoury after some time has passed to get their monies worth out of people.

Brisbane - Cheapest way to acquire it

Alternatively for the low low price of up to 269.74 euros both the ship and the captain can be yours in the casino!!, form an orderly queue, no pushing

Actually you are right, 110 in combat missions, 200 max if using resources to buy stuff in the armoury, so 310, leaves you needing 285 from 1st set of events assuming using the coupon, depends what other tasks follow and how soon it becomes available, if it's right after you finish the first set that's ok, but I can't see the following steps detailed so no way to see what's coming if you do first step easily and if you can do it in time to use the coupon. 9 sets of tasks on the map, but no way to see what follows and the commitment needed, can probably do it for free but over a long *** time/grind and not in time to use the coupon.

If @Nov_A is right you can but will probably be a stiff grind in a short time: "Do all the missions in 1 week to use the coupon, since its only valid until the 17th. This reduces the price from 700 to 595 tokens. You get 550 tokens from all the missions so you only need to buy 2 extra 30 token packages for 12'000 coal and 10'000'000 credits. Free Brisbane, free virginity card." Disclaimer: not studied the details, seen 90 torps mentioned, if it's spot 90 torps thats a toughie unless we all div up with Shima's in co op Just checked yeah it's spot 90 torps, so funnnel to contestants right away as you have to complete the task before going to the next, pretty much the same as the 6k community tokens, I don't watch that much Twitch and the other routes to get them don't interest me (recruitment, tester etc.)

https://blog.worldofwarships.com/blog/390 https://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Ship:Brisbane also nearly every review I have read / watched also says coal "eventually" I think WG probably "forgot" to add that to the news article, don't want to scare the fishes away from the event

Yep same old trick, dangle an attractive prize with an event chain, let people grind until they realize they can't get the new shiny easily, sunk cost kicks in and they pay, or just keep desperately grinding thereby upping participation levels, good for attracting finance and advertising, and generating secondary payments for consumables etc.

She's a Pirate captain, cmon WG where's the club hauling buff and free black flag?

Got most of those and they are all premiums / special so makes sense to me can swop captain around easily, also Vampire II is the only tier X but it's a good one

Brisbane - Cheapest way to acquire it

Oh not knocking it, just my "glass half empty" personality, had some time out myself, mainly got my captains up by clan battles if your clan is active in that space, so got one Commonwealth captain at 19 points thanks to that, I wouldn't turn down a 19 point captain either

Brisbane - Cheapest way to acquire it

Sounds good, though it's just a 19 point captain with a "unique voice over", don't think there are any special buffs are there?, and can't use the coupon for her which is a shame.

Bear in mind will be available for coal eventually anyway, so same old Early Access "give us time or extortionate amounts of money" event. Ship doesn't look spectacular anyway, 12km radar, no smoke mino, 20x 13.5km torps with less dpm from guns than mino. Think I'll wait for it to appear in armoury for coal Radar and torps look good but seems a bit fragile based on this review

The Queen of the Seas: Brisbane and Matilda Kelly

From Brisbane's WOWS wiki entry ""Brisbane was first released on 10 March 2023 as part of the Queen of the Seas event, and later made available in the armory for coal."" So actually just early access.....think I can wait for a Mino side grade, got other ships that fulfil this role and reviews aren't exactly glowing looks like another island hugging fire spammer, 12km radar is nice but any Russian cruiser has that. Update: so 20 torps with 13.5km range is another bonus so I can see this being sort of popular in CB for a while but think it will be too fragile to become a favourite based on potato quality's review, 15.8km gun range you'd get focussed to death with any competent team. Good radar Mino player will probably like it

    British Submarines in the Armory

Great, so reliant on contribution of the rest of the Global playerbase, I don't know why they didn't use the same format as for the other Team events they have run, also don't like having progress tied to whether someone can be bothered to play or not even if it's world wide, the Your contribution bit is very discrete, should be more prominant

    British Submarines in the Armory

has to be an error, following mission is the same,, in 20 days? So 8 800 000 000 total @The_EURL_Guy care to confirm?

Seven years in World of Warships

Same for me except with clan battles too, had 2 year break after going to World of Warplanes and other stuff, when I started again just couldn't tolerate randoms for some reason, I guess mostly because I prefer dd's and liked RTS CV's. Randoms now are a crap fest

The "Admiral of the North" Has Arrived in the Armory

Malteseknight advising not to buy, slow, weak armour, crappy torps but goodish guns
  20. arcticstorm123

The "Admiral of the North" Has Arrived in the Armory

Marketing is also kind of weird, showing the ship cruising past snow capped mountains?, "Admiral of the North?, " sure you haven't confused the Netherlands with Norway, Finland or Sweden?
  21. Fascinating, is there any tea in this forum?
  22. arcticstorm123

    Are you playing Wolfpack?

I find subs are actually fun in this format, they should keep them solely in sub only operations like this, pushing them into every facet of the game doesn’t make sense and only spoils gameplay in the existing formats. The roughly quarter of players who seem to play them can sustain the op and the guy who’s neck is so obviously on the line for pushing them can save a little face. Maybe do the same for cv’s with a “Midway” operation with decent sided maps and cv vs cv battles?

    Druid/Vampire/Colbert/Slava/Yolo from RB?

Not got Colbert yet, when we had Tier VIII Clan battles Bayard seemed very similar?, not got either, but may get both

    Druid/Vampire/Colbert/Slava/Yolo from RB?

When you see the real life Paulo Emilio was a light cruiser you understand her a lot better, as with some other ships where a ship falls between the cracks in WG's designations they try to put a square peg in a round hole (as was the case with battle cruisers for quite a while). Just watched a video from Mountbatten on top 5 dd's and he describes her as a "torpedo delivery system", which I thought was pretty accurate, kind of sucks doing dd stuff but great at charging down BB's especially and deleting them
  25. arcticstorm123

    Druid/Vampire/Colbert/Slava/Yolo from RB?

I tend to get Tier X with clan battles in mind, with the more aggressive playstyle and overabundance of 12km radar I've had to shout at myself not to touch the T key (thinking of removing it), as a dd you are target number 1 on the opposing teams hit list and any time I've used it it usually ends badly, but I can see in other game modes it can be an advantage. 90 second crawling smoke is a loong time, especially compared to Daring and Druids 10 seconds
