How good is the Tirpitz now

Bit old but still good, note as it says that even in 2016 Tirpitz was viewed as a noobs ship, hence the crap overall scores, it is a good ship though, suffers by misuse and large numbers of inexperienced players playing her over the years dragging her scores down. Like he says if you want to snipe from range get something Japanese.

How good is the Tirpitz now

That's the thing, most people know the Tirpitz has torps now, time to use them is if you are up close and personal, broadside to broadside, they are not meant to let you emulate a Japanese torp boat. Depends on your playstyle, if it's aggressive with good secondaries build it's a lot of fun, dispersion doesn't matter either close in.

How good is the Tirpitz now

Hence the Tirpitz's old nickname "Derpitz" Actually had a lot of fun in mine back in the day, was my first premium I think, good close in brawler at the time, but as you say we've had plenty of other Tier 8 BB's since then so it suffers with age by comparison, didn't stop me from getting the "Norwegian Fjord" camo the other day though, always hated the stock one. Didn't have Tier9/10's to contend with either, a lot of new players did buy her because she was the only good Tier 8 Premium

Wg, isn't cossack a bit too much?

The three ships on the opposing team from the same clan, diversioned up probably didn't help, though not to that extent.

I can live with the smoke that lasts seconds but I really miss the speed boost with British DD's, I don't see why WG seem to choose these arbitrary "national differences" and lumbers the entire British DD line with it, for a DD if you can't hide fight your way out of a tight spot you have to run, and depending on the map, that means no cover and you are toast.

My point?, Who cares if it's over or underpowered?, stop moaning (not you personally I mean the thread ), and play the frikking game

Wg, isn't cossack a bit too much?

These kind of conversations make me smile, I suspect if every player was suddenly transformed into a knowledgeable experienced player a lot of people here would be deeply unhappy. Those games when you "carried" the team?, ......not going to happen, those krakens you got?, .......sorry distant memory, you are going to be shredded 2 minutes into the game by accurate fire from a group of players working together (actually remembering the rare occasions where I ran into this makes me wince). Same goes for selling powerful Tier 8/9 ships at premium, Wargaming is a business, that money keeps the game open and more importantly it fills the game queues, or would you prefer to wait 5 minutes for a game or face a team of half bots like in World of Warplanes? Truth is there are a mix of people playing these games, some who treat it as the most serious thing in their life and others who just want to kill a few hours at the weekend, same as there are people to whom losing a single game is a major tragedy and others who just shrug and hit the play button again. You'll never please all of them.

You see these discussions for nearly every ship in the game, whether it's underpowered/overpowered, at least it's not like the BB's recently (Example the Vanguard thread on this page) where you always feel there's something lacking, also bear in mind it depends on the skill of the individual player as to whether they can exploit the advantages. For every player that knows what they are doing you will see many more sail blindly into caps, or sail parallel for extended periods against bb's with good secondary builds. DD's have a tough time, when spotted you are the most targeted ship in the game, and you have a low health pool compared to any of the other ship types, and in the case of the Russians torps which are only of use in ambushes or last ditch attacks. Cossack is good but I would not call it overpowered for her tier, and in any case as you have to regularly face tier 9/10's better a slightly overpowered dd than underpowered if you are at Tier 8.

Vanguard and Dreadnought are in the shop...

Sorry....if you're that annoyed you are in the perfect state to play randoms if tonights been any guide, even had a guy in a Missouri on our team shooting at me at the start of game

Scharnhorst is an absolutely excellent ship, enjoyed every minute of playing her, even forked out for the arctic camo!!, dammit you got me watching Yuro's how "How to Scharnhorst" on Youtube again!, and just after I kicked the habit!! (lots of swearing so don't play in front of granny )

Marketing decision, you can win in in a competition over December though, not a bad little tier 3 BB but nothing special

Matchmaking is bloody incredible, at least I stayed alive till the last 5 mins

Vanguard and Dreadnought are in the shop...

I manage to get some descent citadels in a hood, not so much in Vanguard, I think it's true what the article says, think it does better mid range, dispersion seem better

Vanguard and Dreadnought are in the shop...

The wiki entry is reasonably honest though I must say I feel a lot more secure in a Warspite http://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Ship:Vanguard "Armament can feel lacking against higher tier Battleships, due to her mediocre AP"

Vanguard and Dreadnought are in the shop...

@MrConway Can you feed this back please?, don't mind being squishy but please can they look at the AP, HE damage & dispersion for Vanguard, feels like you are using a pea shooter atm
  16. arcticstorm123

Vanguard and Dreadnought are in the shop...

Absolutely, there's a definite issue with AP, also dispersion is greater than what I thought from reviews and videos, seem to be straddling cruisers at reasonably close ranges, gonna stay a firestarter till they improve it

Vanguard and Dreadnought are in the shop...

Just played a few games in co op with Vanguard (not ready to be the primary target in randoms until there's a few more around, and people get killing them out of their systems) , still trying to decide but I think she's not stellar but not entirely terrible either, the gun arcs aren't absolutely terrible they are manageable, the broadside is a bit squishy but you aren't a Nuremberg either!!, more puzzled by the AP, doesn't seem to be very effective, get the occasional citadel but not as reliably as on other BB's, been tending to switch to HE. Gets set on fire easily but damage is British style recoverable, as a matter of fact plays very much the same as the other British BB's. Of course randoms are different but just first impression vs bots This is bare btw, no modules, flags or decent captain yet

Vanguard and Dreadnought are in the shop...

If it really sucks badly WG will probably modify it, I can remember when I first got the Warspite the turret rotation was chronically slow, I used to turn the ship instead!, but Wargaming eventually got the WD40 out,. if there's howls of outrage from people who've bought this I'd expect some improvements, like all the other lemons, like they did for the Graf Zepplin etc.
  19. arcticstorm123

Vanguard and Dreadnought are in the shop...

....depends, if the guns are accurate as they say, will have to see how it copes with damage bow on or from the stern, over time it may be able to chip away at opponents, you don't have to broadside, it's usually just quicker
  20. arcticstorm123

Vanguard and Dreadnought are in the shop...

Oh no, I like honesty, I also like the oddball or difficult ships as I'm not that focused on win rate, got the same attitude with World of Warplanes, seen numerous reviews for ships and planes labelled "unplayable" that I've done ok with, old git here too!
  21. arcticstorm123

Vanguard and Dreadnought are in the shop...

Ouch!, she doesn't pull punches does she?, have to say Wargaming seem to have a thing about discouraging broadsides lately, with the French everything is up front, didn't get Jean Bart because once again it's all turrets at the bow end, and with the British expose your side to anything and bang there goes your citadel

Felt it was my patriotic duty.....

Vanguard and Dreadnought are in the shop...

Should be ok, it's marked "Special offer" which is what the basic "Vanguard and Dreadnought" is also labelled as, call me hypocrite by the way just bought it. It's only the "reduced" "First and last bundle II" it's invalid for as it's supposedly at a reduced price.
  24. arcticstorm123

Vanguard and Dreadnought are in the shop...

With the coupon the base bundle goes down to 41.11 Euros which sounds a lot more reasonable, must admit contrary to previous comments I'm tempted now

Vanguard and Dreadnought are in the shop...

Hoods not bad actually, sort of like a Scharhorst with no torps
