Also notice if you buy the Fleet of Fog flagship bundle, aside from 10 point commanders you also get the Yamato UU?, same values as standard Yamato one as far as I can see, though in the text that they reserve the right to change the values for the Arp Yamato should give people pause for thought. So this is just a straight Yamato with ARP clothing

Think you took me too literally, yes different roles for same money

As Flamu says get the Mainz instead, ok no radar, but 6km German hydro kind of makes up for it, Belfast 43 short duration smoke just makes you careless, without it you take more care, better still grind Edinburgh (Belfast hull anyway )

Never understood this myself, if I cried over this I'd be crying nearly every game, especially in something with a low rof like a bb, pretty normal to delete 98-99% of a cruisers health and then everyone and their cat opens up with high rof ships, and you can bet your life if I see an opposing ship hanging by a thread I'm going to take the shot! They are not "your kill", they are whoever the game thinks killed it (you can deal the apparent killing blow but if the targets on fire for some time someone who lit the fire, and did the damage, gets it).

Well I have original Belfast and Edinburgh so can't say it's a "must have" for me unless it has missiles or something, but yeah what you say is true of most ships in the game, also dailybounce seems pretty pessimistic in both reviews so perhaps thats their style

[Poll] How many lines with "Tier X" have you reset for the "Research Bureau" thus far?
arcticstorm123 replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
You have more patience than I have, hate the early US BBś with a vengence, nice guns but soooooo sloooooow -
Did you read that article?, Belfast 43 doesn't sound good either

So are all the gaming companies, I think the thing to ask yourself is do you still enjoy the game, and do you still feel it's worthwhile playing it? We all fork over money every day for (hopefully) nice food, and entertainment, the fact that the person at the other end makes a profit doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing. As the video says Wargaming won't miss us, there are plenty coming into the sausage machine, but if you still get some fun from Warships, them making money from it shouldn't distract from your enjoyment. I just read the book by the developer who worked for Cambridge Analytica, describing how they fixed elections, in it he describes how lots of sites now have never ending scrolling pages, the reason is it's like pulling the arm on a fruit machine, it keeps you engaged with the site, more engagement and users, more advertising revenue, so just dwell on the fact that even just reading the news or looking at your favourite hobby site you are making the creator of it money

Which ship do you find hardest to play well?
arcticstorm123 replied to Gebbly's topic in General Discussion
Give it another go, they improved the dispersion for German BB's since then and go nuts on secondaries, it's heaps of fun watching the world burn around you while you wait to reload, Tirpitz is even better -

Subtitles for Azure Lane and other specialised Captains
arcticstorm123 replied to HansRoaming's topic in General Discussion
You don't always need translation to make them fun, the Al Yukikaze captain's laugh, same thing for HSF Mei Irizaki captain (although a bit more of a sinister laugh) as well as the ARP Ashigara Captains drowning /gargling noises when she gets flooding -
Belfast coming back...
arcticstorm123 replied to Miscommunication_dept's topic in General Discussion
Yep , wasn't laughing at you btw was more interested to know what the differences actually are but such information is sometimes hard to get hold of particularly if made in wartime and subject to secrecy, and you know when some sources say significant they follow with "but can't you see there are 3 more rivets, it's obvious!!" -

Yeah, but significant differences or "train spotter" geek style differences? -
Belfast coming back...

Seems the mine damage was in 1939, her 1943 picture doesn't seem to look too different from Edinburgh, her wikipedia entry states"In November 1939, Belfast struck a German mine and, in spite of fears that she would be scrapped, spent more than two years undergoing extensive repairs. Belfast returned to action in November 1942 with improved firepower, radar equipment, and armour.", but not sure if this was different to other ships in her class, or merely being updated after being laid up in dock https://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/205218583 -
Belfast coming back...

Yep, the current one is how she looks moored on the Thames atm, the new one is how she was when she fought Scharnhorst, no real preference myself -

They mean on the old Tier VII Belfast in game, note the masts No big deal in my book -
I think people underestimate the amount of money games make, before I played WOWS I played a crappy ship flash game on Facebook, and I was constantly amazed at how much some people in my clan would pay for event's, we are talking thousands, and the publishers business practice and attitude to players makes WG look like a Saint by comparison they treated the playerbase like dirt, which is a shame because the game had a loyal following as the original developer was an enthusiast and developed pretty good gameplay, but then sold up. They were an American company and openly price gouged and indulged in deceptive practices, ships went effectively obsolete in like 3 months, and major events came around that quickly, it was a constant treadmill to keep up. I think as you do WG are doing just fine, and while WG aren't perfect they could be a hell of a lot worse in how they operate.

Twitch is a bad example because they are a subsidiary of Amazon. People have short memories but Google, and Amazon didn't turn a profit for years, it was a running joke in the IT industry "have they made a profit yet?, hah hah ha", thing is they play the long game, and have investors that stuck with them in the early years. Businesses that persistently make a loss and have no potential to do so don't stay open for over 5 years, not even 1 year

Teammates deliberately running into your torpedo's
arcticstorm123 replied to Space_Vato's topic in General Discussion
No, unless they indicated in chat this is what they intended or was so blatant there can be no other reason i.e. start of game, no enemy in range, in which case send a replay, nothing gets done without a replay In game you don't see from the other persons viewpoint, like I said in my example I'm sure the dd behind me thought I was going one side of the BB when I turned and went the other side and so caught his torps, I'm sure no malice was intended and his response said that, in the middle of a battle sometimes it just happens -
Teammates deliberately running into your torpedo's
arcticstorm123 replied to Space_Vato's topic in General Discussion
Yep happened to me the other day in Agir, BB very close, saw torps were ready on the left side of the ship so turned right to bring them to bear, that's when I heard torps approaching, looked behind to see I was about to catch a full broadside of friendly torps from a dd I thought was dead already. I've also turned pink a number of times, very easy to do in something like the European destroyers with those fast long range torps late in the game, just live with it and move on and be very careful to watch the map and where your team mates are headed before launching. -
Belfast coming back...
arcticstorm123 replied to Miscommunication_dept's topic in General Discussion
I don't know why people are getting bent out of shape about "Belfast 1943" being a cut and paste Edinburgh, as has been pointed out they were sister ships and a quick google of Belfast in 1943 shows they were pretty near indistinguishable: I've got the original tier VII Belfast and have the Edinburgh so I admit I'm not too fussed about this, but if someone has neither I can see they might buy this. WG have done this a number of times before with ships like the Irian which is a nerfed Kutazov so I don't know why everyone's so outraged. We are at the point where most of the famous ships from the major naval powers are already in the game, WG will keep doing this to keep the money rolling in which keeps the servers on, and small changes and re-releases of existing ships can be fun for us too, I recently got the AL YUKIKAZE even though I already have the Kagero, Asashio and the HSF Harekaze purely because F3 torps on a tier VIII sounded like fun (and they are). So WG didn't build a new model from the keel up, nobody is forcing people to buy her, just ignore it, the main source of the anger is "We wanted a ship famed (in the game) for being overpowered and this isn't it" (actually original Belfast wasn't an "I win" ship, it is powerful but you can still suck badly in it if you don't know how to play it like every other ship in the game). -
Well thanks for the Unique Upgrades, they are all so crap we won't need to worry about them anymore, certainly not worth resetting lines for

[Poll] Did you get KM CV mission(s) in first 5 "Free" German Carrier containers?

Ok my bad, was following the current chain -
[Poll] Did you get KM CV mission(s) in first 5 "Free" German Carrier containers?
arcticstorm123 replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Nope wrong missions, we mean these ones for the tokens If you look at the last mission on each they require a different German CV, only the last one has Graf Zepplin which more people are likely to have, therefore you have to coin the tier 6/8 to get a camo, or buy the ridiculously expensive "Head Start bundle" which gives you enough for one camo -

arcticstorm123 replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Thats the way I read it, was pretty annoyed when I found out, cmon you can't even give us a lousy free camo?
