    British battleships incoming

Note - 2 lion class battleships with 16 inch guns were laid down on reserve slips in 1939, but work was halted and they were scrapped in situ in 1945, therefore the Lion class is a valid ship This would then be a T9 and the N3 class T10

    With WoW opting to create fictional ships for T9 and T10 and also ignoring existing plans that had been drawn up but were discarded because of the Washington Treaty Such as the N3 design which was envisaged nut scrapped and the G3 design which was heavily modified to produce the Rodney and Nelson N3 ype: Battleship Displacement: about 48,500 long tons (49,300 t) Length: 820 ft (249.9 m) Beam: 106 ft (32.3 m) Draught: 33 ft (10.1 m) (at deep load) Installed power: 56,000 shp (42,000 kW) Propulsion: 2 shafts, 2 geared steam turbine sets Speed: 23 knots (43 km/h; 26 mph) Armament: 3 × triple 18-inch (457 mm) guns 8 × twin 6-inch (152 mm) guns 6 × single 4.7-inch (120 mm) AA guns 10 × quadruple-barrel 2-pdr pom-pommountings 6 × 21-inch (533 mm) torpedo tubes Armour: Belt: 13.5–15 in (343–381 mm) Deck: 6–8 in (152–203 mm) Barbettes: 15 in (381 mm) Turrets: 10–18 in (254–457 mm) Conning tower: 15 in (381 mm) Bulkheads: 9–14 in (229–356 mm) G3 design Type: Battlecruiser Displacement: 48,400 long tons (49,200 t) (normal) 53,909 long tons (54,774 t) (deep load) Length: 856 ft (260.9 m) Beam: 106 ft (32.3 m) Draught: 35 ft 8 in (10.9 m) (at deep load) Installed power: 160,000 shp (120,000 kW) 20 small-tube boilers Propulsion: 4 shafts 4 geared steam turbines Speed: 32 knots (59 km/h; 37 mph) Range: 7,000 nautical miles (13,000 km; 8,100 mi) at 16 knots (30 km/h; 18 mph) Complement: 1716 Armament: 3 × 3 - 16-inch (406 mm) guns 8 × 2 - 6-inch (152 mm) guns 6 × 1 - 4.7-inch (120 mm) AA guns 4 × 10 - barrel 2-pounder pom-pommountings 2 × 24.5-inch (622 mm) torpedo tubes Armour: Belt: 12–14 in (305–356 mm) Deck: 3–8 in (76–203 mm) Barbettes: 11–14 in (279–356 mm) Turrets: 13–17 in (330–432 mm) Conning tower: 8 in (203 mm) Bulkheads: 10–12 in (254–305 mm)

    British battleships incoming

I would have thought that War Games would have really pulled something special out of the hat for the British Battleships, there were only ever 175 dreadnought battleships and battlecruisers ever built (more were planned but cancelled for various reasons) Of these 175 ships, more than half were built for the Royal navy or in British Shipyards or to designs supplied by the British and utilising some percentage of components also supplied by the British I.e. - 35 battleships from WWI era built in British Shipyards served in the Grand Fleet, a further 8 battleships were built to the end of WWII, 13 battlecruisers also served in the Grand Fleet and a further 4 were constructed (3 were converted to aircraft carriers) Kongo was constructed at Vickers, Haruna and Kirishima had boilers supplied by Yarrow Kawachi and Settsu had guns supplied by Elswick Dante Aligheiri had vickers triple turrets Leonardo da Vinci had guns supplied by Vickers Conti di Cavour and Guilio Cesare had elswick guns, Guilio Cesare had boilers supplied by Babcock Caio Duilio and Andrea Doria - guns supplied by Armstrong and vickers, boilers supplied by Yarrow Veritas Unitas class- (Austro Hungarian Empire) - 4 ships, parsons turbines and yarrow boilers in all Radetsky class - 3 ships - yarrow boilers Borodino class - (Russian Empire) 4 ships parsons turbines and yarrow boilers Petropalovsk class - 4 ships - parsons turbines and yarrow boilers Espana class - 3 ships, vickers guns, parsons turbines and yarrow boilers Minas Gerias and Sao Paulo (Brazil) built at Elswick and vickers respectively Nassau class (4)had Thornycroft boilers New Mexico class (3) had babcock boilers Arizona had babcock boilers and parsons turbines Pennsylvania - babcock boilers Oklahoma and Nevada - babcock boilers New York and Texas - babcock boilers Arkansas and Wyoming - babcock boilers Utah and Florida - parsons turbines and babcock boilers Delaware and North Dakota - babcock boilers, North Dakota retrofitted with parsons turbines South Carolina and Michigan - babcock boilers A total of 113 out of the 175 were partially constructed, armed or powered by British engineering of which 62 were completely constructed in British Shipyards

    British battleships incoming

In the latest information WG have stated that HMS Dreadnought and the Bellerophone class are the same ship This is not accurate HMS Dreadnought - 1906 - 17900 long tons (20700 full load), 10 12", 10 12 pdr (13pdr was 3") 2 12 pdr AA. 4 18" torpedo tubes, 23000shp for 21knts Armour - CT 11", lower belt 9-11", gunhouses 12", barbettes 8-11", decks 3/4 to 4.5" Bellerophon class - 1907 - 18600 long tons (22000 full load), 10 12" - Bellerophon 12 4" inc AA, Tremeraire ans Superb, 11 4", Tremeraire 2 4" AA, Superb 2 3" AA - bellerophon did not have torpedo tubes but other 2 did Armour - CT 11", lower belt 9-10", gunhouses 11", barbettes 9-11" Even the silhuettes are different, dreadnought had tripod mast aft of first funnel and smaller mast ahead of aft turret Bellerophons had 2 tripod masts one in front of first funnel and second amidships Then there was the ST Vincent class - 3 ships, + 650 tons Neptune, midships turrets staggered and another 650 tons displacement Collossus and Hercules, same as neptune but 100 tons heavier All of these ships differed slightly in armour layouts and shaft horsepower This is before we even get to the Orion class 22500 tons, 10 13.5" 16 4" plus aa and 2 21" torpedo tubes KGV class 1911 +500 tons, Iron Duke class 25000 tons, 10 13.5" 12 6" 4 21" torpedo tubes Then the Queen Elizabeth class 27500 tons, 25knts - 8 15", 12 6", 4 torpedo tubes Royal Sovereigns as Queen Elizabeth except 2 extra 6" guns and 2 knots slower Therefore it should be argued that HMS dreadnought should be included in the line up as a T2 ship as there is a difference it is nearly contemporary with the Mikasa Queen Elizabeths should be a separate fast battleship category and the battlecruisers as separate category entirely. So the British lineup should be as follows: - Slow battleships T2 - Dreadnought T3 Bellerophon T4 St Vincent T5 Orion or KGV T6 Royal Soveriegn T7 Nelson Fast Battleships T6 HMS Queen Elizabeth T7 KGV (would have been called KGVI but King George VI declined and asked for them to be called after his father) T8 - HMS Vanguard T9 - T10 - Battlecruisers T3 - Inflexible T4 - Lion T5 - Tiger, Queen Mary etc T6 - Repulse and Renown T7 Hood
  8. In which the Polish Grom class Destroyer Blyskawica played a prominent part even though she was in dry dock at Cowes and therefore should not have had any ammunition on board, her commander had an inkling that the Germans were going to raid and therefore kept the ammunition aboard, according to eyewitness accounts, her guns were glowing red hot during the engagement
  9. I have noticed over the last couple of days that certain BB's even when getting multiple hits, are doing no damage at all during a battle, therefore I am asking is there a problem with the BB shells USS Missouri - 14 direct hits on Amagi over 2 battles - zero damage Dunkerque - 18 hits on Scharnhorst in a single battle with no damage inflicted Freidrich der Grosse - 10 hits on Amagi with no damage inflicted

    Battle screen disconnects

How many of you have experienced multiple disconnects when you get to the battle screen information screen Today I have had 14 disconnects - 7 in one battle and 4 in a second battle (did not manage to connect to either battle so lost credits and experience)
  11. Fair treatment, reduction in battle screen loading disconnects, revamp of Carriers

I think there is another bugged task, - not sure it is possible to complete - the task states - "Score 200 main gun rounds in a single battle - requirements TVIII to TX"
  14. I am actually working on all lines of ships, it is a definate grind, only have approx 33k free XP at the moment, but probably have millions of XP to convert, just wish I could get some decent containers, all I got using the one that is supposed to give more options is 4 premium containers and signal flags, all of the premium containers also contained signal flags, therefoere as I needed credits, changed to more credits, have had one premium container from that with 5 million credits but the ordinary containers are better

    RN CL take a breath

My only real beef with the Royal Navy cruisers is the lack of High Explosive shells for the lower tier cruisers. Danae can be very effective because the AP shells at medium and close range can cause a lot of damage. As for getting through the various tiers, it will be accomplished eventually as I am playing all nations and all ship lines The hardest lines to actually get through for me are the DD's lines - despite having been playing now for more than a year I am only on T6, for Japan, T5 for USA and T6 for Russia, I am doing better in Aircraft Carriers, with T9 for Japan and T7 for USA, Battleships if good, both USA and Japan on T8, Germany on T7, cruisers, Russia, Japan on T8, germany on T6 and Royal Navy on T5. I can therefore field an effective battlefleet with more than 100 ships in port

I would also like to see some of the various hybrid ships that were built or converted

Still no flags, should have 200 for over 3k random battles (no Tier 10 ships yet)

Prince Eugen Available to purchase now !

Prinz Eugen is a nice historic ship, but I think the prices for the bundles are very expensive, if I get her, it will be just the ship, still undecided with regards to this as there are Royal Navy ships due soon
  21. Run Admiral Run is score bomb hits from a CV, I think it might be 10

Prepare for Ranked Battles Season 5!

I have been playing now for more than a year, OK. I am not brilliant with only an average win rate of 41%, however this also depends upon other team members I tend to play different ships depending upon what the mission taskings are If the daily missions are heavy damage i.e. 60k, I will probably use an aircraft carrier (Japanese to T9, US to T7 plus Saipan are all in port) Destroy ships and second damage tasking, I will probably use battleships (Japanese to T8, US to T8, German to T6 plus Mikasa, Tirpitz, Scharnhorst, Ishizuchi, Texas, Arizona, Dunkerque, Warspite, ARP Kongo, ARP Heie, ARP Haruno, ARP Kirishima) Cruisers, only for the range, find that the heavy cruisers tend to get targeted by battleships, light cruisers generally do not have the range apart from the Russian ships (Japanese to T7, US to T7, German to T5, Russian to T8, plus ARP Haguro, ARP Ashigarri, Emden, Atlanta, Indianapolis, Atago, Diana, Aurora, Murmansk, Krasny Krim, Marshall Kuznetsov, Molotov, Yubari, Marblehead) Destroyers, generally I struggle with these but will use them to try and achieve quests (Japanese to T6, US to T5, Russian to T5 plus Tachibana Kamikazi R, sims, Campletown, Lo Yang, Anshan, and Blyskawica) 96 ships in my port of which 23 have been purchased over the course of a year With the proposed team battles only being T6 and T8, I will probably ignore the destroyers and use cruisers, battleships and aircraft carriers
  23. HMAS Perth, even though built in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland was not actually part of the royal Navy, it was part of the Australian Navy, hence the Designation HMAS, if you had a Canadian ship it would be prefixed by RCNS instead

Prepare for Ranked Battles Season 5!

I like the fact of single tier ranked battles, however, I feel that it should have T5 and T7, so 4 tiers to the battle which will give incentive to some of the newer players to participate, curremntly new players will either have to buy premium ships or not participate

    huge fps drop

Only encountered a similar problem which is fps and lag related - and only on Sunday and Monday over the bank holiday - some battles, got kicked out of the game 3 times during wait for random battle, this might be due to RAM overload, however, this only happens in WoWs and not in the other MMO's that I play daily
