I wouldn't say Beercan offends the dead. It makes no sense granted as it's anime robot stuff on an Italian Battleship that never left Europe from what I know. You don't see that many Romas in game, and of those there are very few beer cans. I did see one in Ranked and the can itself looks HUGE in game -
I'll even go as far to say ppl should play 100 games before truly deciding what they think of it. Or atleast 50+!!

From my experiences using and vs Roma, the calibre excludes her from being a hard anti BB Battleship. A bit of angling and you can thicken your armour to the extent where a Roma has "problems" doing more than a few k of damage if not a complete bounce. You can chip away at the HP of big targets but the relatively slow reload and accuracy makes that a slow task. A 10 gun Amagi salute for instance does the anti BB role far better it seems. GC has a really nice balance, 10 guns at T5 and good general characteristics yes so they don't require much learning. 27.5 knots or whatever at T5 is also very powerful in the hands of a good player as you can react to almost anything in mid tier games. Meh the history buffs, I imagine Reddit goes crazy at the un-historical KGV reload and armour. Be glad WG didn't model KGV's unreliability and 30s+ reload times! Italian machinery looking awesome is a cliche but Roma does look so nice but I'm bias as I'm a bit of an Alfa Romeo fan -

Again, I'll need to play Roma a lot more but there's no reason why WG couldn't have given her a 28s gun reload. Monarch with 9 15" guns needs 25s. Tirp/Bis is 26s with 8 15". Roma with 9 15" guns at 28 looks sensible to me but bleh. -

Well yes, I do not believe the Roma's guns and their characteristics have been seen in game until now. Alabama, Missouri, Kii, Hood, Musashi guns etc are all closely related to ones we've already seen and possibly fired thousands of times. So they'll feel more naturally at ease. I believe GC guns are fairly unique too but those are immediately comfortable, at least to me. Roma is going to take time to adjust to. The extreme turret rotation may lend itself to a far greater variance in targets you shoot at. That's the opposite to something like a Yam where you're either locked into one or a few targets due to lol slow turret rotation. Likewise the high velocity rounds likely means aiming at different points. -

Lol yes the WG daily bonus waste. Happens here with flags and camo, its just the time wasted in a Tanks game is usually a lot less than than here. -
All BB guns need getting used to. Roma may need a bit more time to adjust to the guns and learn the best targets and situations for her... I'll admit the combination of traits is a little weird but I won't be playing much of Roma until after this Ranked season is over I'll reserve judgement for then.

HE damage is awful on Roma, might as well roll the RNG dice. The sheer velocity and normal AP fuse actually creates a lot of problems. I always thought that would be a plus point to a BBs guns but I'm not too sure now! -
It's the Fire Chance of Monarch that lets her down slightly. It's probably what all RN BB should have and not idiotic 45% or whatever or it is. Yeah the guns derp pretty hard but Monarch HE damage is high for a T8 BB with only the Amagi/Kii coming close.

Anyone who goes from R2 to R6 has been yolo I feel and should have taken a break or reevaluated... Yes we met, I think I lost but I was top by hundreds of XP more than anyone else on my team Monarch is surprisingly good in Ranked. I own every T8 BB and she's what I've chosen.

And that's the problem, relying on friendly support means you take a risk as if they suck or don't turn up then the rest retire to the borders and waste 20 mins of everyone's lives. Once folk are bitten that way a few times they adopt the safe approach and hang back. This cycle makes the meta more and more passive. I'll give WoT some credit as at least there the games usually resolve a lot quicker. -

Single launch torps have the potential to be OP. As you can do the super alpha strike like you've said and you can keep people guessing all day at whether you've fired everything. Also single launch torp walls can get really creative! I don't know my RN DDs but if higher tier ones have 5x2 launchers then they're going to have so much potential for the skilled... Gallant is very nice for the initiated. -

Only if you need a T8 BB. Although Bama is arguably the best T8 Prem BB, there are plenty of strong non Prem ships. If someone wants a higher tier Prem BB it has to be Missouri although she goes soon... -

Well only sort of glad as the meta doesn't need more BBs. I've looked forward to Richelieu since Dunkerque... For fairness French BBs probably need a little something if Gas Can is anything to go by. Just better dispersion or something, no need to go overboard. -
Yeah I've seen mostly incompetent Romas in Ranked. One did beat us by baiting our shots and he was unkillable with the firepower we had left. The guns are awful vs angled BB. I can safely say a Monarch can bounce or absorb almost everything when you're bow in or heavily angled.

Arguably WoT has this issue, if not worse. Clueless players are meh, it's the abusive ones and arrogant ones that are worse. Besides bad players can be exploited and that seems to be what WG want you to do. If they won't change the MM then club their player base into submission. If you're losing loads of games due to bad players then play something that isn't a BB where you can actually influence caps properly. Either that or play normally so you know the tipping point then farm damage -

I watched Flamu's WiP too and a part of me is glad French BBs look mediocre. Although it's a bit unfair towards those looking forward to the line. I'll be very upset if Richelieu is sucky as that's the one ship in the line I've been looking forward to. -
From what I know you camp and snipe at medium range. Yam guns are there to destroy BBs although do make sure to try and shoot DDs too when they're viable. Now Yam camping only promotes the bad sniping meta but early game you simply have no choice as you're a huge ship that everyone will try and crispy HE spam you to death. You size and concealment means there is no escape either. When enemies thin out then you can think about moving. Others might disagree but like you've said, the focus fire is real. Any enemy in range will share HE with you since it's unlikely you'll be trying to track them since they know you're probably aiming for their BBs. Meh T10 BBs. I really wish I could recycle the XP into something else but then again I've unlocked everything I want

I'll add what I think so far even though I've only played a few games as a break from Ranked. Hugely tanky but lel derp guns. 15" hyper velocity guns are simply weird as the enemy can angle against them or just take the overpen RNG. The nature of the guns mean you often just chip away at the enemy instead of doing huge damage. My impressions were that Roma deserves a shorter reload like other 15" T8 users. Bis/Tirp sit at 26s and Monarch sits at a stunning 25s. That likely won't happen as GC doesn't get an enchanted reload, not the Italian flavour. The ship looks awesome however and no way would I use the beercan camo even if it was free

I'm loathed to Amagi and Kii flank as I see lots fail and get abuse from the rest of the team. They don't seem as strong with the static gameplay. But maybe it doesn't matter what BB you use as long as your tactics are sound...
