    Loyangs were a huge mistake

I tried last night to reason and actually point out things since I'd like to say I know a thing or two about the Lo Yang and how to counter. It's just that I ranked out in a Harekaze a few days ago and beat many Lo Yangs on the way. Still, it's better to go to the forums and create P2W threads then wait for supporters instead of self improvement

    Loyangs were a huge mistake

OP won't take anything other than total acceptance of what he thinks is correct instead of sitting down and thinking of possible counters.

    Top nation DD´s to lvl?

USN are still the best all rounders. At T7 onwards they become the universal Destroyer that can do all roles. Everything else is a bit more specialised.

    Ranked Season 8: General Discussion

Well done to all the fellow R1 Winners, I won't be seeing you in the Super League or whatever that rubbish is called... As for the rest, good luck with the last few hours.

Pan Asian DD line. Your advice.

I've got to add, I've had a lot of fun on the PT server with the T10 PA DD and Torp Acceleration. As long as you've aimed well they're almost impossible for BBs to dodge as they're so fast and the detection range is so low. Just a shame I'm still on T7 PA DDs...

Didn't Warspite have some waterline issues? And the Molotov certainly does...
  7. Thing is, even if you win a Flint would you play it? I've played mine exactly 20 times since I won her in the T6 Ranked season. Not sure if I'd play a Black although she might be interesting with Torp Acceleration...

I really want to see Tirpitz's name badge added.... It's been missing since the very beginning

Ognevoi - too weak for T8?

If you've got a 12 point captain then she's viable... https://image.ibb.co/eWNUyb/shot_18_01_28_00_43_57_0372.jpg Granted most of the damage was farmed off a silly FdG and an even sillier Musashi Sure there are better torpedo boats but if you must go Russian then she's fine with TA.

You've barely spent any time in the Premier League in Ranked and you base your opinion partly on streamers. Do you have your own Lo Yang to even know if there are any weaknesses in your so called Godlike Hydro? Perhaps you're the Armchair Admiral?

    Loyangs were a huge mistake

I've made plenty of mistakes but it seems like you're simply not listening to a thing anyone is saying. The ability to sit in smoke and hard spot for a magic total of 5.4km is Godlike? If you cannot see that last comment as wrong then there's simply no point discussing this any further. Or we could all work together to make this the next Hood needs Torps whine thread?

    Loyangs were a huge mistake

It's been said many many times, if you only react when the hydro kicks in then you have messed up. Play as if a Lo Yang has an absolute spotting range of 5.4km regardless of cover. Problem solved.

    Loyangs were a huge mistake

I fought and beat many Lo Yangs this season with my Harekaze. With the lowest HP pool of any T8 DD I was always very aware of my ship's weaknesses and I used my 5.4km concealment to it's maximum effect. I simply didn't like how Lo Yang played in Ranked even though I cheesed the hell out of the enemy with smoke/island cover with hydro. Teams wouldn't capitalise on that however and often I died isolated with focus fire raining down on me. Keep in mind that to hydro cheese a cap means you are at the centre of attention. A DD cannot survive long as the focal point of the enemy, it isn't a BB with 400mm of belt armour or whatever. Honestly, I think Lo Yang's hydro has been blown out of proportion. It's very strong but it isn't unbeatable and nowhere near a T8 super ship.

    Loyangs were a huge mistake

Relatively short time... 20 mins is easily enough time to exhaust 3 or 4 hydro charges. It's tactically superior when camping in smoke by an island, in open water a Harekaze or Kagero is tactically superior due to far lower concealment and possibly having greater rear facing firepower so can hurt a Lo Yang if the guy is stupid enough to chase. But you've forgotten, Lo Yang doesn't have a lot of HP or DPM for the class. Hydro is an exceptionally strong utility but in a mediocre package. Give Hydro to a Kidd or Aki then yes it would be overwhelmingly powerful.

    Loyangs were a huge mistake

Granted a cap is harder to retake than cap but a Lo Yang doesn't have a massive advantage which cannot be recovered from. A Benson B Hull has an extra gun and the ship itself has more HP. If you really think there's a Lo Yang there then don't be drawn into their game, which has been said many times on this thread already. However you don't seem to be able to accept that and think you should have the right to fight a ship on their terms and win. A Lo Yang in smoke or behind an island with Hydro can be flanked and torped or avoided. They're actually extremely vulnerable in that situation if the enemy DD has a brain and has turned away before the magic 5.4km distance.
  17. Also a big middle finger to WG for having it over Xmas AND shortening the duration... Most of us actually have families, work (how do you think we fund all the P2W Prem ships?) and other commitments

    Loyangs were a huge mistake

A key part of playing DD or any ship in fact is not to get yourself in a situation where you cannot withdraw or it's a fight you stand a good chance of losing. The whole game is about risk management and making good decisions more than skill or reflexes. If there's an empty cap and the enemy DDs are not all accounted for then you might want to skate around it and not dive in, as going in directly means it will take you a long time to turn around and escape even with smoke.

    Loyangs were a huge mistake

So everything was indicating the cap was an unknown risk? Why did you go in then? Armchair Admiral who understands how DDs work thankyou, get the title right if you're going to use it And please don't say you'd do the same thing if the exact scenario presented itself again...
  20. RUSSIANBlAS

    Loyangs were a huge mistake

Actually you can... It's called experience. Looking at the minimap, looking at the position of your ships and where you estimate the enemy ones might be. Lo Yang's danger zone is 5.4km with the hydro on. Skilled or not, you can't adapt to something that will detect you from that distance? Don't go near island caps that are clearly being contested by a Lo Yang? Simply go to another cap? If the Lo Yang has heavy support then why are you even going near a smoke or island that is hydro spotted? Really sorry but this is a skill issue and I'm not talking about the Lo Yang users.

The short of that is TL:DN Too Long: Didn't Nerd Isn't that OP the same guy who rattled off some long spiel about how Roma should be drastically different too?
  22. RUSSIANBlAS

    Loyangs were a huge mistake

Just avoid the Lo Yang that's in smoke hydro? If you can't then you've already messed up... Skill is the balancing factor

    Loyangs were a huge mistake

They're slow and they do awful damage. Players will look at the enemy line up and adapt accordingly. There's far less fear factor when facing Lo Yang 9.2km torps than Kagero ones for instance. It's also what makes the Kidd poor in Ranked as 5 torps with slow reload means they have low impact.
  24. RUSSIANBlAS

    Loyangs were a huge mistake

Aki wasn't usable for me, too big and slow but others made her work. Flamu's analysis considered Kidd to be the best Ranked DD but I'd strongly disagree. Torpedoes do not lessen however far up the ranks you get. You may not land as many but believe me they have an effect as they're forced to dodge and turn which disrupts their positions. Especially given the static camping meta, if you can get round the side the damage can flow nicely.

    Loyangs were a huge mistake

Well it's just experience, you look at the map and the enemy line up. If they're muscling a cap there's not even any point going near it as a Lo Yang is going to hydro you and the team will squish you before you can even turn. I've been there. Yang's concealment is inferior to a Harekaze and even with hydro active he'll only spot you at the same time as you light him up. If you know when to turn in the HSF boat then you can get 66% of your DPM with your two rear turrets vs 50% of his from two front turrets, pick your battles well enough and your team should assist and the Lo Yang dies. It helped a lot that I had a Speed Boost and a 19 point Harekaze/Aki captain however. I know a little bit about ranked and DD play since I have got to R1 3 times, with a Gallant, Sims and Harekaze... Also RPF is simply mandatory for DDs, any that do not have it higher up the Ranked tree deserve to lose unless they're in something like an Aki. Ranked is decided by DDs, I've tried in BBs many times but it only leads to frustration. 1v1 is not the way unless you have a lot more HP or you've ambushed them. Preferably both. The way to kill things is to outnumber and focus fire at that given point. That's where map awareness and experience comes in. As above, it also makes low concealment DDs extremely powerful as you can choose the engagement.
