I'm using TA with any 10km+ torps and it seems to be working well. F3 torps with TA might be amusing but very much yolo. Still on a T8 Kagero here so it'll be awhile before I can taste Shima. Rather it didn't have TRB and DWT as that would clearly be unbalanced. Kidd is great for clubbing randoms but no good in Ranked no.

IMO yeah I agree, I barely use torp max range anymore and I tend to fire as close to my concealment as possible. Hits will go up dramatically... I'm just surprised Kidd doesn't get more complaints as there you have a ship that can tank Cruiser levels of HP if you don't kill her in one go.

Atm you can grind a HSF camo for Yam that gives a 50% repair discount, and 50% a piece XP and Captain XP buffs. Very good value and if you already own. Yam it's a no brainer to use that over getting Musashi. I put my Balti captain into DM but I did enjoy playing her. Wasn't a grind at all. USN Cruiser power hike at T9 is pretty big from T8. -

Yam is better on all counts. Grind out the HSF camo and you've pretty much got a Free Perm camo too. Only plus for Musashi is there's more detail in the ship's model... -

Must admit I can understand that. I'd buy Musashi if I had a huge FXP reserve but thankfully I only have 450k. I can't see myself playing her over Yam which I've started to enjoy again. Besides I'll need FXP for PA DD and French BB upgrades.... -
Hah no, I saw the sarcasm. I made a serious point after about P2W... 5.4km detection isn't really that big a deal if you're aware of it no. WG could lift all German DD hydro to 5.4km and they'd be improved but still not OP yeah. Z23 is still huge and has poor DPM. Half the time I forget my German DDs have Hydro as their range is so yolo. That's pretty much why I switched over. Play a Harekaze right and you can bait Yangs all day, they either sit in their smoke and get flanked/become irrelevant or they chase you and fail due to poorer concealment and awful front gun DPM. DD play in Ranked depends hugely on how much of your team can focus your targets whilst you stay alive yourself. But we're on a Blame Hydro thread so we'll get shot down

Na, then the complaints would just be about the MM or RNG. Hydro gives people an easy target to hate. The P2W argument is pretty dead too. Whilst it's questionable business practice, the game is F2P for the willing and it's not like WG restrict the perceived OP as they're sold before Ranked seasons so anyone with some pocket change can get in with the Prem ship abuse. Of course if there's a T7 Season and Belfast isn't sold again...

No difference in Random Battles. Ranked however is far more island camp orientated. It's made an already slow game mode almost static. Didn't affect my DD game however.

A fully upgraded Balti is a very impressive ship, the guns, reload , AA and forgiving heal. Very underrated by most. I used to hold onto my FXP then I thought I might as well spend to ease grinds. The pain and wastage of higher tier stock grind with flags and camo almost justify spending FXP reserves. Especially if you're a stats wh0re -

Rather than buy dumb Free XP ships (Musashi) I spend my Free XP on Hull and Gun upgrades etc so grinds I actually want to do are far more comfortable. Balti needs the top guns otherwise you just end up playing a T9 NO with massively outclassed AP -

NO at T8 was the most painful thing to play ever. Lel MM utterly obliterates you as even the "good" USN Cruiser AP cannot reliably pen higher tier cruisers and BBs. Baltimore and Des Moines are awesome ships however and worth the pain. -
Lel there's no point, loads of posts stating things you can do vs Hydro and how Yang can be overcome but people don't want to believe it. Instead of accepting they've been outplayed they want to blame a Prem Ship for their losses. Yang has some pretty poor DPM and HP as far as T8 DDs go... But then people complain that giving up a cap because of Hydro is too OP. Few want to admit the Yangs that beat them are just better players

Well T7 and T8 are dominated by Prem ships unfortunately. Any idea that the Tech Tree ships are equals is long gone I think. Especially with T8 DDs with only Aki being worthy of standing up there with the Prems. Simply no reason to play a Benson over a Lo Yang this season unless you either can't afford the PA Prem DD or you don't have enough Elite XP to buff the captain to viable levels for Ranked...

That's what annoyed me into using Harekaze as the HSF ship can at least do good damage to everyone if needs be. The Yang's 6.7km torps are great for cap contesting and are excellent in Random Battles but they lack the flexibility you need for Ranked. The 9.2km torps are pathetic as ships have hydro as you said or 40%+ Torp Belts. An Amagi simply says "wtf is this bull$hit!" and drives straight through them

No I'd never rush smoke unless there's literally 3+ vs the last ship. Can either flush him out with torps and RPF, you won't get them unless they're a moron but they'll have to move. Or radar him, a Lo Yang will melt to focus fire and and enough people take radar Cruisers. There are ways to overcome...
