The TLDR is that it's gambling... Sometimes you might get an SC drop for £1 and other times you might sink hundreds of pounds and get nothing but camos. Those are two extremes however. I'd like WG to publish drop chances as then we can make informed decisions.

I'm going to add an example. The whining BB who blame their DDs for not screening them vs enemy torps AFTER they've sunk. It usually takes more than one torp run to sink a BB so why the hell not raise it as an issue in team chat BEFORE you are dead?? I tend to do my own thing as a DD, spot and cap etc but I'll assess and assist if requested... Again, it's always someone else's fault when the low skilled die.

I see more and more moron DDs, especially Shima simply show no interest in capping until very late game or not at all. They might farm one or two irrelevant BB campers and will think they're playing well by border torping. Worst thing is they'll finish high on the XP table even though they've essentially thrown the game...

Yeah there are dramatic tier hikes where stuff basically becomes impossible to Pen. Like a VK 100 in a T6 game or a Maus in T8 MM for instance... Whereas here a BB with 16" or even 15" guns can put the hurt on any BB in game.

Yeah RE the DD thing. My Ranked WR goes up when my PR goes down as I actually play for the team. WG still has no real idea how to measure effective as beyond killing and capping...

Lel OP. It's mostly fine now, the old full speed border surf was pretty bad...

Funny as people complain about the MM in Tanks even though it's a fairer in my eyes. 3/5/7 with top, middle and bottom tier divides. Whereas here you can be that lone T8 Cruiser in a sea of T10 BB...

That's not a very good example either however. As if a Cruiser player has done the above then they've messed up... Angling often makes taking BB in a Cruiser even more painful. Stats discussions might be best left for WG staff to twist and say everything is fine

I'm laughing at the suggestion both T10 CV have potato WR. As surely someone has to actually be winning? Although I see some utter garbage top tier CVs. Ones that have clearly not played much CV before getting up there.

55% top tier is a complete lie and it still needs breaking down further into classes maybe. I've grinded out New Orleans a few months back and I definitely was not top tier over half my games. As others have said the MM doesn't punish DDs and BB nearly as hard. NO for instance, her AP simply doesn't properly pen higher tier ships and the RoF is too slow to stack any sort of meaningful damage. I actually read that Sub_O article and it looks good superficially but as guys here have said, it quickly comes short when it's looked into.

My last memory of Nurn is taking an NC from the opposite direction of her turrets. AP into a broadside superstructure stacks up pretty fast.

That actually looks quite cool... What game is it?? Wonder if France ever did any design concepts of a triple front turret ship.

Nurn still gets smashed. I've seen citadel hits on her broadside through the tip of the bow which blows my mind... I guess that's just the engine not displaying registered hits properly.

Aren't WG nerfing those occurrences next patch? No more 0 damage torp hits. I'm sure I read it on the PT patch notes.

Lel F2P rider... I've got no issues personally with rolling with a Prem Account. Good thing it's shared with WoT also.

I'm not 100% sure but I believe the RL RU ship was literally the Nurn given over as a war prize. So it might play 100% the same plus RU Cruiser captains will fit straight in skill wise.

If you like Nurn that much maybe it's an idea to get that Russian Cruiser that's basically a clone. Unless you want to train a German captain.

TA with Ogne is a nice skill as your torps become almost DWT like for detection/reaction. The ship is meh however unless you really must torp boat in an RU DD or if you want a Udaloi and didn't get her before the split

RL/RPF is needed for almost every DD. I even run it my Udaloi. DD are the most important class and they're the biggest threat to you even if you may not kill them often as a Torp Boat. You'll learn when to avoid caps/areas or have info for your team.

They should have gone to town and made a freak 16 gun ship. 3x4 turrets at the front and a single quad turret at the rear with 15" calibre. Would have been interesting...

Nurn has some decent AP balanced with the ship being made of wet tissue. They're big candidates for being one shotted, only slightly less so than the Russian stuff. I don't recall my grind being all that painful.

I actually enjoy it when that happens. The way one DD can stall an entire flank of hopeless BBs. At least I enjoy it when I'm the DD!
