Yus Yam/Sashi guns are a bit on the powerful side... I prefer the 16" guns on the Monty, they're far more well rounded for shooting almost anything with.

Meh BBs and HE again... I mean for something like the Yam you'd never fire HE but there is the odd occasion where a few HE salvos might help your Cruisers make a ship extra crispy. Although almost any BB unless completely bow in can be damaged by other BB AP. There are the sides of the superstructure that can be shot even when heavily angled so It's worth a try instead of fail HE.

I own Hood and she wears the bottom camo. Can't believe WG are selling the Bottom of the Ocean and the faux Arizona style camos for that much. As they could be grinded in the Bismarck campaign. Also I use the camo she was sold with as I think it looks pretty sweet. Finally Hood is awesome. So fast and tanky with perfectly acceptable guns if you're used to the Warspite. I love her to bits and should play her more...

GK is one of my most hated ships. Even bigger than Yam and with derp guns. Seems a nice secondary brawler but that isn't fitting for T10. These days I enjoy my German battleships via a 19pt captain Scharnhorst...

Ah that game. Personally I think the Shima threw by pushing too deep then the Mino yoloed at B for some reason... Shima blamed us for it but meh, goes into the realms of naming and shaming. GG anyway!

Yeah that second game was a complete DD riot. Ranked is a bit grindy as I think with T10 it's harder to have an impact with torps most games as bigger ships can just laugh off your strikes That game was an exception.

If its Ranked: Press Escape IMMEDIATELY if you see two CVs in queue. Maybe even if there is only one if you are extra paranoid...

It's just as good across the way on WoT. They sold stuff like T44-100 and useless stuff for an inflated price. Afaik the only really interesting sold Tank last Xmas was the E25. Really spoiling us!! Remember the Xmas Convoy

With hindsight GNB was actually nice. Just a shame WG's PR was so bad that it left a dirty taste in a lot of people's mouths with the "It's a surprise" troll. And Boris, no! Most of those ships cost quite a bit of money and are mostly OP. Is it because you don't own any as I have them all

If it's the ship then don't expect doubloons if you already own Indie and finish the campaign. WG have given out credits recently for all Prem vehicle campaigns.

I'm pretty sure folk who say Z is the best T10 DD do not DD main... On paper it's great but not being good at anything means someone that knows what they're doing can take you out. And yeah I actually really like the Grozo but I wouldn't have picked it in Ranked unless every game had CVs. Again it's big and fat with mediocre characteristics but it does look awesome

Guess so. We probably get to see how XP works without any Premium ships messing up the multipliers this season however so that's one thing in favour of this T10 season.

Upper tier PA DDs are extremely similar to USN ones as they are quite often the same ship or atleast a derivative. Their guns are identical, with the only big difference from T8 onwards is radar, different smoke and Deep Water Torps. Currently Yue Yang looks like the strongest T10 DD overall. It's radar reaches out 7.4km and lasts 36s with the radar module. You're actually smaller than a Gearing so you'll find dodging torps and shells that bit easier. Plus as said before you get the same machinegun like main guns so knife fighting will be exactly as you know it from USN DDs. Lack of torps that can hit other DDs is not that big an issue, neither is having no smoke as long as you know when to hold your fire and get back into concealment. Possibly go down the USN route first then go across to PA DDs later. People may hate me for this but avoid IJN if you're short of time and effort. USN (and as an extension PA) DDs do a better all round job.

Great game of Ranked just now @cro_pwr Victor really wanted us to lose that since the Gearing detonated right at the start and I took a 12k long range AP salvo from their GK. You had some sort of turret issue too but we somehow pulled through. Felt good to nuke that same GK at the end

Oh don't get me wrong, I'd still always take LS for DDs. Was just thinking about a time where not taking it could be viable. Not taking it is like playing Counterstrike with no bodyarmour or driving a car without a seat beat. As in you probably won't notice you don't have it a lot of the time but will regret it in that once instance you needed it...

I personally agree the top loser keeping their star should be removed as currently there are two ways of hitting R1. A) Playing to win. B) Picking the best damage farmer and farming damage. Eventually your teams will win and you'll rise, otherwise you play selfishly.

I think I've lost a grand total of two torp tubes completely knocked out in probably 150+ Ranked, CW and Random Battles. The tubes do get disabled but they do on all DDs. You can even aim at enemy ones to an extent in knife fights, just aim upper hull/deck and you might take out a launcher...

The only real argument I can see for no LS on a DD is for long range spammers like Khaba. As if your engine gets nuked you can use DCP then slip into concealment whilst you wait for CD. Which isn't a bad idea anyway as you will want to shake off the folk aiming at you. Still LS doesn't save you if you're static as your acceleration is poor with it. LS helps the most when your engines get nuked whilst you're at full speed. It does save you using a DCP even if you slip into concealment however.

Yes, being torped is a factor and YY doesn't carry that threat due to DWT. However being aware of your positioning and watching to see if the enemy has already torped will protect you from eating fish most if the time. RPF helps a lot as you just bow in vs the enemy and you'll be very hard to hit. Also do you know the RPM on a YY and Gearing Vs a Z52? IMO the Z is the weakest of the trio as it's HE is poor and the AP can be angled against. I've seen a fair few YYs in the Premier League play with smoke... But no I'd never pick it, anyone who doubts it just try out radar and don't shoot but instead kite away from stuff you can't kill. You'll find smoke isn't really needed.

YY seems to be the top DD yeah, no smoke isn't a big issue as you can either out spot or radar anything else. Plus smoke doesn't save you from radar. Some might argue that smoke let's you use YYs high DPM but when bigger ships have 60k to 100k HP of heavy armour I ask myself is there even a point in firing? The DWT is your non DD damage dealer anyway IMO.

Is that because bot DDs accept their yolo and don't say stuff like "Thanks for the help team..."?
