The last time I faced a Kiev in Ranked I was missing BFT and SE, plus I was too far away. Since my captain got re-skilled I never really met one since I switched to Vigilance as I found I was actually getting torped on occasion without it! Now I sort of wish Ranked came round again at T7...

lel, I never knew that... That only reinforces the majority who default to buffing the NC AA as high as it'll go. Whilst not every game has a CV in it, it's better to have the deterrent there to scare off any flying things. It's one less thing to worry about. Also to the OP, consider firing your guns LESS. Just because you are in range of something, doesn't mean its a good idea to shoot it and A) Advertise where you are to everyone and B) Take a shot that's not optimal. 30 seconds between reloads is more than fast enough if you pick your targets carefully. Example, earlier I was in a Tirp and there was a Molotov at about 10km doing it's thing. HE spamming me and generally being a pain, it was moving and dodging like a madman and my guns were on it. I probably waited over a minute before the RU ship thought he'd run towards me and I fired through his bow; one salvo kill. I could have fired two salvos in that time but if I had shot immediately I don't think I would have got a perfect a shot that if I waited. All the time I was burning and losing HP so there was a little pressure there. A classic example is when a cruiser turns around, wait until its about to sail straight then fire a salvo leading into its turn. I find they all turn at a fairly uniform rate when at high speed. That's far better than shooting the ship mid turn when it's a far smaller target and may even bounce a few of your shells.

I much prefer Domination, things simply happen quicker on it. If a team sucks then it'll end far quicker and save everyone the pain. On Standard maps it tends to end in total destruction of one side somewhere near the end of the 20 minutes with some loser hiding in A1 or something But yes, a DD disparity will royally mess up Domination mode... -

If you're all Premmed up, have managed your controls and STILL have HE issues then I think that 1 of the two is your problem: A) Your aim needs work as you are not keeping the enemy off you. B) You've yoloed into an unwinnable situation and nothing much is going to save you. -

Prem consumables and flags with the right captain skills makes fire not "that" big an issue. When you have five heals with a quick DC cooldown you can usually blast the hell out of whatever is trying to burn you or atleast scare it away so it goes to spam someone else. Been playing a lot of Warspite recently since it's restoration and I don't care much for fires when stacked up with all the goodies. I used to hate HE until I got the chequebook out and started using items. Got almost 60 million credits and nothing to spend them on so I don't mind paying a bit more to survive in game. Makes it a bit of a two tier system for those unwilling or unable to spend but oh well -
The Scharn has been in a playable form for quite a few weeks now. I imagine the releases to the contributors now are the final previews before its released to the general unwashed (non Russians and Chinese who are willing to pay big money for super test status). I think it may beat the Dunkirk out since it's been around for testing that much longer. French front heavy BB can wait anyway, I want my mini Tirp wurst ship

WG probably won't replicate the split armoured turrets, I'm sure the real Dunkirk took a turret hit which only managed to knock out 2 out the 4 guns. Other remaining pair could still fire...

Someone hasn't seen that ATSF guy's video The upgrade makes the little ship pack a huge punch but it's not recorded on the artillery rating.

I really like the look of the "Dunkirk", could be a T6 version of the Kongo with a bit of a twist with the turrets. Fastest of the T6 BB so far but I fear it's prospects when up tiered.

It might be mildly amusing if King Albert is the T3 version of the Nikolai but I doubt it somehow lol Scharnorst as a mini Tirp is all it needs to sell extremely well. I can see it's average stats being terrible as it's smaller guns will need more work to be successful with. Despite what people say. The Tirp guns can still power through most ships.

Probably, although some of it would be how RNG was feeling towards you that particular time. I'm sure most BB players have seen a ring of splashes around DDs from a salvo. Still, if a DD player isn't brain dead and sailing without WASD it will be just that bit harder too I guess... A lot of DD's bank on not being shot at or just being small and quick so they don't try to dodge.

The dispersion reduction is only at T9 and T10, irrelevant to most USN BB players. I actually think the USN range increase module is a form of trolling by WG. USN BB have enough issues as it is hitting stuff at max range without a further increase Although I do use it for the NM and Colorado, although they don't hit much you still need to be able to push shells out as far as the IJN ships to give them something to think about...

It's certainly worth a go, high tier BB tend to have quite a few guns and it's worth a shotgun blast or two if there's nothing better to shoot at no?

They're just resupplied on use, I wouldn't worry too much. Even paying the 44k or so for both premium consumables (don't get a prem spotter, pointless). you probably won't lose money most games.

The BBQ Izumo was an experience indeed but I didn't hugely enjoy it. Now with the Iowa buffs (accuracy and speed) the 'Zumo simply looks weak now. It's similar to handling a Yam but with Amagi guns. I say play it for awhile. The Yam is bigger and fatter so get used to it -

Kongo shouldn't be sniping. A Fuso "can" but still isn't great. There is a difference between shooting at long range whilst you get closer and those who stand at the back at in effective range through the entire battle. Even the "sniper" BB should get closer at some point. -

The only sniper BB I have are the Amagi and arguably the Yam. Everything else needs 15km or even sub 10km to work. All the kids think landing a lucky cit at 20km means you should do it all the time... -
Kiev is awesome and the others above her seem great too if TS is anything to go by. Worst thing you can do is run from a Khab. For the folk complaining about BB not being able to hit then you probably don't deserve to be in that tier. All BB players should be able to shoot DD if the situation asks for it...

I actually like how the T9 Ger BB looks. Like a Bismarck/Tirptiz but jacked up... The T10 ship looks a bit silly and only T7 to T10 should fly the KM flag

The New Mex is a close range shotgun. Now that we all have Situational Awareness you should try not shooting at long range and instead wait to get closer until you're revealed. 10km or less and the New Mex works fine!

The Warspite is great again. Took that long for WG to admit it had a problem... Her rear is still lightly armoured but nothing that was unfair like before. Use Prem Consumables, repair and damage control. The extra credits she earns will make them well worth it! I'll have to give the Arizona a try one day but I'll happily wait for a discount. £20 for a New Mex with more accurate but even slower guns and lol AA is a bit much when the Scharnorst is so near.

A simple AFK mechanic wouldn't be hard. Auto loss and full repair costs for anyone who doesn't make any actions for 5 mins. Maybe even the first 3.
