If you really need to use HE as a BB then do so. Swallow your pride... You possibly shouldn't be shooting an Iowa at max range anyway. When they're bow on your shells will likely bounce off them like rain drops... Kill cruisers first then help others take down the BB. Still if they're doing the current high tier meta by camping miles out then just go for the objectives.

A friend believes it will come tomorrow but I still think WG troll us with Warspite and Molotov discounts. I want a Molotov but I'm not getting it yet on principle. I keep saying it but I'm looking forward to the Gneis more. It's the conventional T7 BB rather than the quirky Scharn with a unique play style.

Play all the classes including DD then return and talk about Torpedo Soup with us all then. BB are why I play this game but I'm competent with all other classes too. Using torps isn't as easy as you'd think...

Some might disagree but I don't use the range module. Tex isn't hitting much at 16km so no point extended it further. Near immunity to planes is never bad...

I'm actually far more hyped for Gnesi, has torps too, is faster and has guns able to mix it up with BB of it's tier.

WG probably stagger their releases for maximum profit, releasing a few Prems together would mean some would skip the least desirable ones. Whereas if they are all individual releases then casual buyers might get the new ship every time.

?! Iowa's armour patter feels exactly the same as the NC to me, both will bounce most stuff off their bow. I can see arguments favouring either ship as NC is a far smaller profile. Hakaryu farm Iowa BB all day long If NC had better guns (accuracy and shell flight) it would probably be OP as it's almost the perfect BB otherwise. I understand how it's guns work but I've never really enjoyed using them.

WOWS has about as much in common with real naval battles as Counter Strike does with real gun battles...

Hosho has two torp bomber squadrons. Langley only has one (albeit with 6 bombers instead of 4) and a derp erratic dive bomber. You can simply pump out way more damage and be in two places on the map with a Hosho as long as your quick enough with your plane controls.

As long as someone can adapt to the slow low orbit lob thaw is the NC guns then she is nice. But it can really throw your aim with other ships and vice versa. Also a CE NC is frankly insane as it's detection range is something like 11.8km... The new prem camo for the NC is nice, black paint on the guns. Not paying 3000 dubs for it however!!!!

This weekend feels like the right time for the Scharnorst. Considering Gamescom is next week and 0.5.10 with German BB could be next Thursday barring any last minute bugs or balance issues arising from the PT. If regular German BB beat the Scharnorst to release I might just play her sister ship the Gneis instead....

I await the hordes of Scharnorst snipers who complain their AP does nothing at 19km...

Is it bad I often select my targets on whether they are on Hull A or not? A lattice mast USN CV or IJN ship with vintage superstructure is a big red "Shoot me!!" Sign. The worst A Hull BB has to be the Amagi. It has weaker guns& armour and can get sucked into T10 games...

This goes for a lot of ships. Not shooting until you're in detected range usually means your guns are going to be accurate. BB snipes at long (15km+) are only worth it if the ship you are aiming at is broadside/presenting an obvious target. Speculative snipes simply tell everyone where you are.

IJN CV simply out punch USN ones... Sure they've got bigger squadrons but there are less squadrons and their corresponding rearm time is longer. I prefer to "practice" in my Hosho and not my Langley as there simply isn't enough to do in the USN ship. T4 CV don't really represent CV play as most ships you face have little to no AA. Saipan with its double torp bombers is great but I don't think its representative of USN CV. Even a high tier CV is like a simplified RTS. You never really control huge amounts of units.

Iowa is a great BB to stop on at T9 also. All round excellent BB.

At some stage in your CV career you need to learn to hunt DD. So even vs higher tier you're always viable as the little ships seldom have good AA Also now CV are mirrored, the enemy one will have similar issues to you with strong AA etc

Strike USN CV is bad. Any IJN CV will see your setup and laugh. They'll simply out damage you and still have fighters to harass your bombers. If skill levels are equal, IJN all the way.

I've had some miserable Saipan games where I've been VS T8 but then again the opposing Hiryu didn't enjoy themselves either...

Tex is better armoured than the IJN BB it will face. If you're better you will hurt them.

The Gnesi and Scharn make sense in game for WG as Scharn will be the unique Prem ship with fast firing but fairly weak BB guns that has a play style like nothing else. Gnesi will likely play more like a normal BB. If they gave Gnesi the option of both guns it would take away sales from the Scharn. I guess it isn't a simulator etc even though the mis-informed might believe the real Gnesi sailed around with 15" Bismarck guns

The rage will resume again when the EU gets the Scharnorst after everyone else...

How did you play vs AS Hiryu? Close support for your team so their AA could help? Guessing you got good at torping DD too...

With prem heal the Warspite can take obscene damage. Some have quoted 100k+ hp but I dunno if it's that high. As long as you don't blow up you can heal way more hp than any other BB. Zombie Regeneration Ship
