Problem is when you've got 4+ big gun BB camping with some DD in front it makes it extremely hard to advance. If a team full of T9&T10 snipe then they're going to get lucky simply on amount of shells being thrown out.

It makes me worry for the HMS Rodney/Nelson. Might be similarity unresolved to play although the RN ship will likely be T6 or T7. Izumo is simply the worst BB the IJN have for its tier after the Myogi. Although you can even argue the Myogi is better vs it's own tier. I can't name one thing it beats the Iowa over other than it's badly realised secondaries. Dunno how it fares vs the giant Tirp yet...

I tried the AA build but it doesn't matter if you've got a buffed Iowa level of AA. When Hakaryu shows up there is nothing you can do except get rekted.

WG fail in Scharn description in shop. Says it's the second German BB behind Tirp. Technically it's the 10th as the normal tree beat it by about an hour

I'm British myself but I'd much rather seen the Scharnhorst released as I'm a BB player than the surprise RN Cruiser announcement... Oh well, maybe I'll just free XP to a Gnesinau or however you spell it and use that instead -
The secondaries don't fire much when you're facing towards threats. Best 16" guns is debatable although they're pretty much the Amagi guns and that's a fine ship. Part of the issue is that almost all other IJN BB are excellent which makes anything that isn't just as good seem horrible. It actually handles better than a Yam. More responsive, especially the turret rotation but as others have said all the Yam's flaws are forgiven due to her lolpen everything shells.

Tirps 15" guns are one of my favourite BB guns. Fast turrets, fast reloads with good velocity power and accuracy at 15km or less. I've played pretty much every BB of both USN and IJN trees so I've got a bit of experience in BBs... Shoot Cruisers first and get closer if you want to hurt same tier or higher BB. Simple.

Warspite was restored last patch, will be that slightly bit stronger in 0.5.10... I'll probably put a bit more time into her when I get my Tirp captain to 15 points. Will be an interesting ship to hunt Scharns in!

I grinded about 43 games in Izumo then I rewarded myself with the Yam. The guns are her saving grace, they are pretty powerful and accurate... Or atlaest I remember them being so. The Iowa basically laughs at it, the disparity is pretty wide. Especially now the Iowa got buffed with accuracy, speed and even more AA. Izumo=Big, fat, slow, easily seen, easily catches fire...

Armour is fine when angled. Accuracy is far better than the other T5 ships. Shoot at 15km or so, don't speculate at 20km unless it's vs broadside ships or if you are a noob player. To the others having issues with Kongo accuracy, fire entire salvos at things, don't use single turrets. The length of the ship (e.g the very wide spacing between the turrets, especially the two rear ones) means the shots will vary somewhat where they land, atleast they do in my experience. Fire the lot and let RNG assist...

I've kept my regular Kongo as I don't enjoy hearing little Japanese girls talk to me when I land citadels The only real weakness of the ship is her AA is somewhat poor and therefore CV will love you due to her length.

Why?!? There is mid tier seal clubbing which is more or less fine then there is that... Can't be much enjoyment in that. At least in something like a Clemson or Kongo the ship is interesting to use. -

I don't buy that opposing force thing at all. IJN vs USB is valid but RU vs Ger!? Teams in WOWS are all mixed up anyway. Might as well just make the most in demand ships now. -

I think WG argue that it has to be about the same as free XP to the next tier. Still for that price I want essentially a full Prem ship upgrade with all the earnings in credits, xp and captain xp. -

The last time I played NC was on the PT and I enjoyed myself but I simply don't have enough high level captains. My 15 point BB one is in my Iowa, stealth USB BB is the only way to fly I can see how WG history logic can get annoying. Especially as their ship models are actually really well researched mostly... Why not go that final step?! -

I've never been sniped/Alpha striked in my Saipan. Come close to losing the ship but most CV players will be aware it happens. Saipan has decent AA and her fighters can blunt most snipe attempts unless it's a double CV strike....
