OP, go and play DD for awhile. They're far from OP. Likewise with Cruiser HE spam. WG steadily nerf them but the whiners always want more. Get a Bismarck with Manual Fire Control or something. I've been playing BB for quite awhile and I can't say I share the same issues as you. We can and should get into close range but there's a time for that which takes experience. If we had absolute manual control over the secondaries then there would be no point playing any other class as higher level BB often pack nearly a cruiser's worth of firepower in their secondary armament.

You don't "need" Prem Consumables to be effective but it helps a lot. Do you feel flags are wrong too? A BB fully kitted out can survive huge pain. I'm sure figures of 100k damage and not sinking in a Warspite is possible with decent play... Maybe Prem Consumables are wrong on some level but they're part of the game. Your loss!

Base XP earned is a fair way of doing things. Stops P2W to an extent, means kill stealing is less of a thing too and no prem account boosts.

All BB benefit greatly from Prem Consumables. You should still come out with a profit since it's a Prem ship and makes more credits. Your loss if you feel that's against your principles... Most ships that are in games above their tier need some adaptation. It really isn't as impossible as some make out.

Man all the Warspite haters and doubters I only bought her after about 6 months of grinding regular BB. Now that WG have lowered her in the water she performs just about fine. Exceptional guns at T6 that reward precision and punish those who don't aim properly, an insane turning circle no other BB can get near and a still fairly hefty ability to regen a lot of damage (use Prem Consumables for best results). If you are worried about range then sulk around near islands or hope other bigger BB shoot first and draw all the fire.

Bayern accuracy at long (15km+) is utter garbage, even at 10km it can be questionable. Warspite is accurate up to her max range. If her range was buffed they'd have to nerf her accuracy or something else maybe. Fine as she is IMO

Once the selector has gone yellow there is no turning back... Hold CTRL and click multiple groups to select more than 1 group or rubber band the units on the screen itself.

Ryujo is better!? It has low reserves of planes and you often face the same ships as the Hiryu.

I want a Hiryu but I'm stuck on the Ryujo (fully upgraded mind) and I simply can't be bothered to go through the pain of grinding up. Zuiho is pretty good for the ships it can potentially face too...

I own Iowa and Yam but I rarely play either. It's not I can't afford to or they're not good ships but it's just a bit too slow paced and campy. Don't be in a rush to get up there imo.

I tried to go for a full AA build like the Iowa/NC but you still get farmed by the Hakaryu and it takes away from Izumo's strengths.

I try to match a normal ship to a Prem one so they can share the captain.

My friend if you can use the Izumo to her strengths then just get a Yam. You'll do miles better...

You're talking about a piece of machinery that's hundreds of tonnes heavy. A full 360 degree rotation is probably extra engineering costs a country isn't going to spend money on. Especially considering real BB wouldn't be brawling at 8km like we do here Still, would n't mind having a definitive answer.

Problem is the Yam exists and her guns will demolish you if you attempt to do that slow frontal only thing... Anything T8 and T9 can be considered top tier in terms of what you might meet in MM. An Amagi I'd take into a T10 game, I wouldn't be hugely pleased but atleast I find the ship perfectly functional. I skipped most of the Izumo grind, wouldn't play again unless its to mess around on PT.

Maybe the real one couldn't? Don't know...

I've grinded both USN and IJN BB from T3 to T9 without any free xp. I learnt the game and suffered their various Hull A ships. However I free XP'ed to Gnesi and Bismarck for German BB as I felt responsible enough to use both. Problem with Prem ships alone is you're not grinding your way up the normal tech tree, unless you're willing to spend more on free XP which is money spent again. Prem time alone is a good consideration as you'll gain a nice boost to every ship you play. Do read reviews (Little White Mouse's ones) and watch YouTube Prem Ship reviews, watch as much material as you can before making up your mind. There is a lot of opinions out there for Prem Ships so there is no reason not to be fully informed.

It's very much a specialist ship, not for everyone. I do own one but it's rare I use it. Played vs a Atlanta div (a pair of them) in my Warspite last night, they island spammed me to the high heavens. I took about 150 hits in total that game, most of which was Atlanta HE rain. Still they didn't kill me and after I floated away from the islands I punished both at 15km with a few 15" salvos I'm sure I'll give it a bit more time one day but there's easier to access and frankly more fun ships around right now.

I really like the Gen-izer-NAU. Not shooting when you're further than about 15km always helps. I see too many trying to snipe with it, go get into an Amagi if you want to do that. It's guns are fine, fits in with the German theme of being slightly under powered compared to the IJN/USN ships but faster firing with interesting close in characteristics. I might prefer it over the Scharn given a bit more exposure to it...

How long before complaint threads that it's UP?

A friend pointed out that WG have released on Sunday before. I can't wait to get farmed by Bismarck and other real BB when I get home later
