I did get a Kraken last night and single handily win the game in my new Hiryu complete with permanent Camo last night... CV can be a very strong class and arguably the strongest, I assume you've been violated time and time again by triple torp bombers on the Hakryu/Taiho? I can see some of the rage having reason as CV do feel somewhat unbalanced as there's often very little you can do vs a good CV player who knows how to manual drop. A part from take damage and sink that is. I guess that's why WG have buffed AA somewhat in recent times and put restrictions on the amount and tiers of CV in game. People can talk about defensive fire AA and playing as a team but when the game gets into it's later stages and start to split up then the CVs feel that much more powerful. The game I won, I took out 3 BB within minutes to go in different parts of the map. Granted each one only needed 1 dive bomber/1 torp bombing run to kill but they were way too far a part for any other ship to take out. I don't mind things the way they are. Others will complain about OP AA anyway!!

Sniping seems to be the most dangerous at T7 yeah, when the Hiryu Strike loadout is packing 2/2/2 and can afford to gamble an entire wave of planes on a first strike. Always keep your fighters relatively near your CV until you see their strike squadrons engaging stuff. WATCH THE SIDES OF THE MAP as quite often people will hug the edges and creep in their squadrons. Move the CV straight away as if it's moving it can change directions just that little bit easier. If the worse has come to it and you're about to be hit by a wave of bombers then I'd target the torpedo bombers exclusively, if you can't strafe one out the sky with fighters then try to turn for the first one maybe and manual target the second one. DON'T use Damage Control until all their craft have dropped their various torps/bombs. Dive bombers although they can sting, they don't do catastrophic damage like torps can. Problem with T4 and T5 is a lot of ships have non existent or appalling AA so they can't really help you out. Ships start pumping out serious air defences at T6 onwards generally. The one and only time I've been sniped is in a Langley, I went down to T4 to seal club and encountered a better clubber so it serves me right Personally if I ever saw a USN captain go full strike I would instantly be looking to snipe them out of the game...

Air Sup as USN completely hamstrings your ability to actually do any damage. You'll have one single dive bomber squad at lower tiers when IJN are packing a double torp bombers with a dive bomber on top. All the IJN CV needs to do is one good torp run and they've probably done more than an AS USN CV ever will all game. AS ruins games because all they can do is shoot down enemy fighters and annoy the opposing CV!

Don't play USN CV if you're starting out! Others have said and I have to agree, go IJN! The Saipan is a good CV but it's strike ability is limited. I really enjoy playing it though. If you dare go USN and go Strike build then you will likely get sniped (taken out at the start by a mass strike wave) if the enemy is IJN. USN CV who use the Air Sup build are the anti fun players. They will do little damage to ships and ruin the game for the other player. When your planes have run out then that's it! They do not refill after the reserve is empty.

Tirp front is essentially immune to all AP except for Yam ones. It hasn't changed no.

Scharn certainly isn't screwed by MM, it seems to be top tier quite a lot from my experience...

I got sick of the cr@p and got some free XP out and got a Hiryu, it's much more manageable when compared to the Ryujo as it has a decent reserve of planes. Still need to be careful when playing etc. Don't suicide your squads, try and make cruisers fire their defensive fire, but out and come back when it's on cool down. If stuff has intensive AA and you "really" want to bomb it then maybe using dive bombers/fighters as cover before torping or even torp from further away so the close in AA doesn't get a chance to open up. Of course they could dodge it but that's where good dropping comes into it...

?! What are WG trying to say about the Prince Eugen RE this? "Prinz Eugen comes with a unique permanent camouflage, which apart from providing the usual benefits, brings an exclusive one: a +50% Commander XP bonus! In other words, whenever this camouflage is mounted, your German commander will receive 50% more experience than usual, making Prinz Eugenthe ultimate training machine!" So it's camo gives the usual +50% for higher tier Prem AND another +50% ontop of that for the captain!? Or are they trying to pull a fast one on ppl...

Ryujo has serious issues facing higher tiers as it doesn't have a big hanger of reserve planes. Being in T8 games as T6 CV simply isn't fun. Sure you can hunt DD, and you can wait until the ships have used their defensive fire/had AA guns knocked out by HE but it is still an unpleasant experience.

Bismarck secondaries are borderline op, 10km and with manual fire control they will do very good damage. Add hydroacoustic to it and you are essentially a DD predator, any DD in secondary range is going to get harassed by numerous fires and modules being knocked out.

True, they'd be scraping the bottom of the paper barrel. Maybe a late war Kongo class at T6 with decent AA and a few other choice upgrades. Would be interesting unlike the 200 Manga rubbish Kongos we have

The real joke is on those who paid 3k doubloons for the perm camo. I simply can't see any reason why anyone would stay on this ship when the Yam exists. Yam plays very similar except it's guns do not care about armour or angling enemy ships.

Dunker needs a few games to really understand and it isn't for everyone. I do well in it most games now. Exclusively using AP, it's just knowing where to aim and when to take your shots. The layout of the turrets is very nice to use, can track and change targets quickly whilst staying angled.

I'd love to see an IJN one too. Hopefully they will make these ships somewhat different to the existing ships. Not like that pending German Cruiser which is a carbon copy of its normal ship...

True. Warspite's armour is not that far off the Dunkirk's... Cits are entirely possible vs NY/Tex too.

A few other BB have the jutting out cit. Some front, some at the rear. NY/Tex has it at the front which can be penned. Likewise with Fuso rear turrets. Fairly sure Nagato has it too but can't picture it in my head right now. None are as large as Warspite's. Whilst it's not hugely amusing to play with i still really like her and I'm effective with her too. I'd still take Warspite over the Bayern any day of the week because of her guns accuracy and quick rudder. Being smashed in the cit via that weakness is fairly hard as with all the ships the cit is deep in the ship. It probably just memorable when it happens to you!!

A Benson simply should not kill a Tirp on full hp if the BB player is competent. At least not with guns only. It would take literally hundreds of shells and take a significant time firing non stop. You could have just sailed away long before being burnt down to 0. Unless all your team were dead or you were going yolo. Alternatively as above has posted get a Bismarck, full secondaries with a 15 point captain plus manual fire control then pop hydro. You'll kill him long before little DD can do much more harm. This is a tactical issue no a balance one imo.

If I was trying to sell ships I'd make them as cheap as possible without devaluing them. If you raise the bar too high people will just walk on. I wouldn't have bought any of the Prem ships i have if they were £50+ in a bundle.

I don't care if a bundle is better value, I don't want all the extra rubbish like flags and consumables. £60+ for which in a month's time you will only have a ship left for is silly imo. If I can't get a ship only package straight away i might just end up not buying at all or waiting for a discount weekend months later. How is holding back the ship only package going to help sales?!

Warspite isn't the only ship with the jutting out citadel. Nagato and New York/Texas have similar but not as pronounced. The armour layout really shows the difference between BB. Most German stuff looks borderline op with the amount of red on their BB. Still if it's sort of historic...

If the Bismarck is untouched it could be utterly insane with a 15 point captain. Use it as the centre of a task force and farm lesser ships under 10k. I guess alot would take that option so it might nullify itself.

T8 is slightly unfair yes as it's either experienced ppl or wallet warriors who can partake. I'd advocate T6 all the way to the top to leave it open but I could see alot of rage at such a decision.

Yeah i made the mistake of playing leisurely. The grind is pretty painful. Plenty of afk in the weaker ranks... Since I don't have a T8 DD other than Trashkent (no, just no). It'll be Atago, Amagi, Tirp and maybe Bismarck for me...

Manual Secondaries on a BB equipped to get the best from it is pretty powerful. Test it next time the PT is on. Any DD that fails to kill you with torps and is revealed in range will likely not survive you... A fully kitted out Bismarck feels borderline op.
