Amagi guns feel fine to me, I usually wait and try to fire the entire salvo at once. Even if the guns are a little less accurate, a 10 shell salvo usually gets the results I'm after. If you're in a T9/T10 game you need to play it safe and let others lead, in fact most games should be like that as the Amagi takes terrible damage from other BB. I must be one of the only people who prefer the Colorado to the Nagato, never really liked the T7 IJN BB for some reason...

Get both one day! Amagi is lightly armoured but it has a very heavy salvo, can put the hurt on anything it might face. Need to have a bit of range (Amagi as full secondary build nowadays is unwise...) Bismarck is tough and probably op with a 15 skill captain and manual fire control secondaries. I prefer the Amagi, whenever I play it again after German BBs it pleasantly surprises me with the power of its guns.

Same as they've always been. I use Tirp at mid range mostly as I equip the accuracy module. It's probably all RNG though as I occasionally get massive long range Devastating Strikers in the Bismarck which is a full secondary brawler build.

They're pretty different ships. Konig is slow and is undergunned, Bayern is the 2nd fastest T6 ship behind the Dunker and her guns are a threat to any ship you might face in MM.

Very possibly, WGs tweak of the MM seems to have as many losers as it has winners. I may try it again at some stage but I simply don't have enough German BB captains to go around. My Scharn/Bis share an op 15 point secondary captain, Tirp/Gnesi I'm working towards a 15 point Concealment Expert one and the Bayern has her own captain being built up from scratch...

Yeah, I'm wondering what it's like to play USN BB from T3 and onwards now... I grinded all the way to Iowa prior to anything except the Tirp being released for the KM.

Yeah same, I gave the Konig enough of a chance by grinding out all the upgrades but it didn't inspire me to play it further. Current MM means you face T7 fairly often and it's guns are utterly insufficient when something like a Colorado or a Scharn turns up... WG please give Perm Camo for Amagi. It's probably one of the best BB in the game

Nagato's guns are essentially the same on IJN BB up to T9 if I remember correctly, Amagi and Izumo just have a few more barrels to fling shells out of. Both Colo with it's 406mm and Naga with it's 410mm should have no issues so I can't really say what your specific problem is. I do find the Gnesi and Scharn armour seems tougher than that on the Tirp and Bismarck (except for the invincible bows of the T8 sisters). Have you got a Gnesi or a Scharn? They are far from invincible from AP shells of any BB. Also analyse the hits you're getting from every salvo, if you have too many over pens or bounces then you're aiming in the wrong place. Anything between 5k to 10k+ damage per salvo is nice vs the Germans.

I've had a Gnesi eat 7 out of 8 torps in a single CV bomber run, yet to do that to a Scharn. Whether that means it's a longer ship however or just my own blind luck I don't know!

I'm actually up for a bit of CV hunting when I play DD and I get blown up by the CV I'm going for probably about a 3rd of the time. Not totally defenceless, usually the team will atleast make some attempt to come to their aid and if the CV is an IJN one then you'll be cross torp dropped or something if the guy knows what they're doing.

Yeah, if one DD can sneak by and kill a CV fairly early on in a 12 v 12 or even get some support from an allied CV then it puts the enemy team at a pretty big disadvantage. No issues here imo

Use HE, or just wait for a better angle. Don't need to fire as soon as the guns are reloaded. I exclusively use AP, even in Scharn and Dunker and I don't have any issues inflicting damage on other BB. I think people are spoilt with IJN BB being released early, German BB (and likely RN along with other nations) will generally have lesser calibre guns with probably lower penetration characteristics. IJN guns really are the highlight of their BB, they (mostly) perform very well. Even trash like the Izumo has a decent set of cannons

Well yes, DD "should" be supporting the team but in a 12v12 not everyone is going to do as their told. Supporting a team makes more sense yes as they get more xp for capping etc but hey Random Battles eh? It's just tough if a CV is taken out by a lone DD, it means they were simply not good enough to spot/bomb it out of existence...

sigh the amount of kids who chase wounded BB instead of contesting caps or fighting ships that aren't running... It's kind of fun when it's you who's running away and watching half a team follow however Fine if one team is winning by a landslide but not close games!

Yes the amount of CV players that are stationary or need their team to type "CV MOVE!!!!" A CV can get into some seriously advanced positions and even cap in a long game.

Lol, a DD killing a CV is their reward for getting to the soft underbelly of the enemy team. Plus any half decent CV player should know to scout for DD as they're the hard counter for them both in spotting and with their strike craft. I love it when I ambush a CV with a fast BB, should something be done about that too?!

Bayern's guns do not hold a candle to the Warspite's, but few BB guns do except maybe high tier IJN cannons. Once you adjust to the Warspite's slow shell travel however. Bayern's armour is borderline op, look at it in the armour layout then look at it's T6 peers... Her guns may derp you but overall you'll still do comparable if not more damage than other T6 BB as you will outlive all the rest. I can see why some love the Konig, very well behaved guns. Some even call it a T5 Fuso but I'll still take Kongou home everytime

I've scored plenty of citadels on Tirps at about 15km, with 15" guns. Aim under the front turrets. Any BB T6 and above can sting all German BB up to and including T8 (probably T9 too but I haven't shot at many Gross Freddys). Just rake the superstructure, you can do anything from 5k to 15k+, just because you don't see that little black ship icon it doesn't mean you're not making progress... Gnesi and Scharn are far from invincible if they give broadsides. Even at close range they'll still go down fast without angles and intelligent play.

I hated the Konig. It's guns are under powered, although I do fine with Dunker and Scharn with AP only... The amount of AP bounces I had in the Konig made me sell up. Hated the Bayern but bonded now, it's a bit like a Warspite with better armour.

I still remember the days of non mirrored CV MM and they were utterly broken. Even to the point of having a CV vs a no CV team.... If the CV player is good you can guess what the outcome is going to be.

T7 CV, well Hiryu and Saipan seem pretty balanced. Although I only realise it now I've got a Hiryu that it's simply stronger if players are equal skill. People have commented that CV are forced to hunt DD when everyone's AA is good but surely that is part of how CVs are balanced in this? Well prior to the proliferation of radar anyway and OP Bismarck (lol). Also high tier CV stop that cr@p where BB park bow in and snipe each other from long range. BB is my main class and I'm tired of the long range high tier sniping that I'm pretty much forced into doing in the Yam and Iowa.

Bismarck is so strong that I've reskilled my 15 point Tirp Captain that was built for CE and taken Manual Fire Control...

Two torp bombers hitting you for 70% means the CV guy is either very good and/or very lucky. Generally they're not going to be landing that amount of torps. I can only recall landing 7/8 torps once in IJN CV so far and one 6/6 CV run in my Saipan. There's only so much you can do in regards to moving the ship yes, even if you turn early. A good manual dropper can adjust whilst you turn. Do you play CV however? It's far harder than it looks, I play BB mostly but I branch out to DD and CV in order to study other classes and see for myself whether something is possibly OP.
