There's something to be said for stagger firing a BB's guns. I don't do it enough but it's an easy counter to those who angle to get their own guns off then angle back.

A ship on 500 hp is not going to be as effective as something on 1/2 or even 1/4 health. Granted, something that is about to die can still get some fishes in the water/fire a perfect AP salvo but any semi competent team is going to be spamming "FIRE AT THAT TARGET" at the low hp ship and all the "Kill Securers" will have their eyes wide open too!

Yes, as slow paced as WOWS is compared to other online games you shouldn't ever really be idle unless at the start or right at the end of the game. Always something to look at/ponder/react to...

Flamu still uses the enhanced mini map it seems... Interesting how other YouTubers don't mod at all. Probably some sort of WG demand.

People should be doing that anyway and not sat on a deckchair relaxing like the stupid Captain in the WG cartoons I don't do it against Cruisers in my BB as HE spam does not concern me but any BB player "really" needs to look at where the guns of his enemies are facing and whether they're about to fire. Unless they like that silly ear drum ringing sound FX...

There are points in a Ranked game where one side looks like they're winning by a landslide but have loads of ships on low HP and the battle seems to swing hugely in the space of a few minutes. It isn't that simple calculating who is and isn't sunk. Like if you lol cit a Cruiser from the spawn then he's either going to go full suicide or hide on the corner until 5 mins left and essentially be out the game without being dead. I'm sure there's lots of other examples we can name. Just saying...

I used Minimap with the direction of travel before someone worked out how to make the Navigator. I've seen Flamu use the enhanced minimap, not sure if he still does as I haven't watched him for awhile. And yes, I've sat around for a day or so waiting for the essential map mod to come out! Try Hakka Mod in case Aslain is a bit slow, although he's been sharp the last few patches!!

I am so glad that I ended up at Rank 5 last season so got a by into Rank 15 this season and straight into T8 ships... Think I've avoided a lot of the rage that some guys here are experiencing

Maybe a small hypothetical WW2 "what if" upgrade so it can sit higher up in the tiers. Although that might enrage the purists/history buffs.

I've considered doing this with a Div mate but never did, late at night in upper tiers I'd wager a group of people would stand a high chance of being in the same game if not team. Even if every player was PLAYER A B C E etc, people would quickly work out if they were on the same team. There's a minute or so before a game starts to mull things over

There's two mods that Aslain has that are extremely useful. One is the larger mini map. The other is the "Navigator" which shows the angle of the ship you've locked onto in real time. Both should really be integrated into the game if you ask me...

You could possibly keep track manually of ships cool downs as the game is slow enough to multi task. Some of the Aslain mod stuff is arguably cheaty mind you..

Fire enough shells at something from a single ship and eventually your aim will get extremely good anyway... RNG will do the rest.

Divs in Ranked would be utterly stupid, you can argue that higher up the ladder with enough friends playing you'd possibly be placed together but that's a random chance still. In line with other competitive online games the teams need to remain completely random...

Some kiddie just accuse me of aimbotting him whilst I was steering my Scharn. Amusingly he was a DD player who thinks that sailing at 15km broadside to a BB without steering is enough to evade an experienced BB players shells... Then he claims it was a distraction technique, granted I lost the game but 105k damage and scoring double over anyone else on my team is good enough for me.

Actually that's not entirely true as you'd never lose a star in that situation...

You'll never stop the bad ship choices. I've seen plenty of USN Cruisers this season too... Even the Amagi is controversial to me, I target them before the Germans and the NC every time unless others present themselves.

If you were a 150k+ damage Kraken every game then you would come through to Rank 1 way before most others. I think they did an analysis last season and something like 25% to 33% of games were unwinnable but it's still way above the 50% which would be pure chance. The fact that so many games are needed to Rank 1 eliminates a lot of luck as you can't luck out to 1 the entire way after hundreds of games.

I experienced that the other day. MM being a straight mirror match but with no other stipulations on team composition other than maybe one CV per team only.

Those who are complaining about the BB meta should think back to the previous seasons. DD or lose for S4 anyway. Give BB their day in the sun then complain about it when this season ends

You really don't want to be using USN Cruisers in Ranked... Maybe you'll buck the trend and do well but don't count on it.

That's always been the case with Ranked, or at least was so last season. CV are massively influential in Ranked so if yours is yolo then bad times...

That guy should have questioned why he was in a lol cit ship in competitive play instead...

What do you already play? I'd go for the Tirp personally but I'm better with BB. Atago has a lot of uses, stealthy ship, good guns for both AP & HE plus almost 360 degree torp coverage. Strong in the right hands.
