Can we get rid of DETONATION?
RUSSIANBlAS replied to Captain_Bloodless's topic in General Discussion
And when you willfully make the class with the most HP and armour have decent long range guns that have the potential to RNG skill stuff out the game the most popular to play yes, WoWS in a nutshell -
Can we get rid of DETONATION?
RUSSIANBlAS replied to Captain_Bloodless's topic in General Discussion
WG nerfed full HP detonations for you though... Removing it from competitive sounds good as I've had quite a few Ranked games go decisively either way because a critical ship has been nuked at a really bad time. The Anti Det module seems to stop the majority of premature explosions tho. -
The Okhotnik needs it too I believe but only special folk would buy or play that ship (me included).
-
I guess Kii still has a strong 32mm bow so same tier BBs can be rushed in relative safety. What do you do vs a Trip who tries the same thing? Does either ship have the natural advantage if both are vaguely the same in pilot skill? I've said in other threads but I've under used the Kii so far so would be keen to explore the lulz that can be harvested.
-
It's a bit of theory crafting but I can see a Kii being strong in Ranked yes as your alpha when AP and torps are added together is just over 200k on paper which would make it fearsome in 1v1 if you've managed to conserve your HP for the decisive brawl. Can't say I've one shotted another BB with the Kii but it must be pretty sweet
-
BB rams are always so epic, especially when the victim knows and fails to evade Some sort of Musashi gift would nice yeah as the HSF Yam camo was released in a free grind around the same time as Musashi came. For the pragmatic there really was no point getting a Musashi when you got an arguably better one for free.
-
Tirp wasn't bad for credit making on release pre Mo... Even when I was a potato learned I never lost credits in my worst Tirp games.
-
I'll have to try ramming a Musashi in a Hood sometime... The health pool won't stand up to a gigantic RN torp
-
Hmm yes I've over simplified by calling them sister ships. Kii should be the superior ship if WG vaguely by historical data. Then again their tiers look strange sometimes, especially at T7 when modern WW2 BBs blend in with early interwar ships. Wasn't the Fuso class closely related to another BB class too? Or were some of them just converted into wierd carrier hybrids...
-
Doubt you see much T7 as a T9. It tends to match you upwards. Only two plus points of Musashi is the model itself is pretty but you can look at it for free in port and you can train captains easily in her. If like me you've had a Yam long ago and grinded the HSF camo then I really can't see why you'd get one. Still, I've seen plenty in game to suggest that lots like it. The 18" guns might be overkill vs T7 anyway.

Ishiz got buffed awhile back into a monster fire ship. I bought it back when it was weaker... Kii isn't terrible. It's just Amagi is so good. Hood has no real comparison at T7 whereas Kii and Amagi are sister ships so invite comparison. I'd say if you played lots of Kii it would be perfectly fine, it's just that I've enjoyed a lot of Amagi in the past.
-
Nice, so Musashi becomes even more of a luxury buy without the turret buffs. Yam has the Legendary module, rotation buffs and potentially free HSF camo. Makes 750k Musashi look expensive...
-
Lel why not? Would make up for their squishy nature and they'll only be useful once in a blue moon. Would be funny to see a Musashi even trying to torp something
-
50% off was pretty generous as it's only been on sale twice from memory but Victor needs his wages paid I guess... Part of me wishes it had torps like Mutsu and Kii as it would fit the IJN Prem BB pattern.
-
For me, Ashitaka at 50% off... As it's been buffed pretty significantly now but I haven't had a chance to play yet.
-
Won a Kii in an Xmas box. It's nice enough but it's in essence a bad Amagi. Worst gun accuracy and thin citadel in exchange for decent AA plus suicide torps as you'll likely be killed if you tried to use them. I'd say if you don't play IJN BBs in the tech tree then you'll likely know no better so it'll feel fine to play. It's one of my marked Prem ships that I need to play to get my money's worth! Doesn't help that I train a few captains in her. One with AA and the other as a normal BB build.
-
A fairly high percentage of games are face rolls these days. Feels like about half whether you are the winner or loser... Ships snowball effect is pretty epic as if your team loses a few ships and doesn't get a single cap then it's pretty much GG. Not sure if bonuses would help anyone tho!

How Many Battles In A Premium Ship Before It Pays For Itself?
RUSSIANBlAS replied to The_Finnster's topic in General Discussion
Well my own take on value is a ship that I'll enjoy playing for a decent quantity of games. Like I've played Warspite and Tirpitz to death so those two are money well spent. Likewise I've taken Sims, Atago and Harekaze to Rank 1. Played quite a bit of Lo Yang too. Other stuff like Kaga, Okhotnik and things like Kii I've had sat around for a long time and barely used. I've got a lot of ships that'll give a lot more entertainment without having to buy anymore for awhile. Currently I have Kii, Alabama, Enterprise, Kidd and Roma ticked as Primary ships so I remember to take them out. When I'm bored I'll probably rotate them. Not even WG's fault but there came a point where I bought more than I'd reasonably play so I'm catching up now. I only put out the 200 battles figure as even if you divide a T8 full price Prem by that then it works out at about 20p per game you've played in it! But value for money is a personal thing as I'm sure there are extreme cases who will pay £50 for a Port Ornament or someone else who will only feel satisfied after playing 1k games in a Texas -
The main strength of radar vs those who understand it is that a ship equipped with it slow the game down as the radar range is essentially a buffer zone where DDs take a big risk if they go into it. This stops DDs capping and effectively torping the enemy. A DD with a brain and experience will likely not die much by being radar lit but their actions will be limited by said radar bubble. This has fairly big consequences for Ranked, Domination and CW as you bleed points whilst the radar lives.

carrier The state of CVs - why the rework is necessary
RUSSIANBlAS replied to Teekesselchen's topic in General Discussion
AP bombs are a mystifying addition as I always assumed previously that CVs were about stacking DoT fire and floods... Yeah T7 Prem CVs lol, Kaga's crazy OP drop pattern or worse still Saipan's supreme fighters that strafe dance anything in it's tier to death. -
Either give us the Graf Zeppelin or remove it from play.
RUSSIANBlAS replied to DeadbyDefault_35's topic in General Discussion
Enterprise is quite cheesy as you can trade unevenly with any other CV with Fighters and still win the air battle. It's a retention of the AS build via a credit card... That being said I do enjoy mine I can see GZ being a T8 Kaga, brutal vs potatoes but easily shut down by someone skilled. -
carrier The state of CVs - why the rework is necessary
RUSSIANBlAS replied to Teekesselchen's topic in General Discussion
DDs who play the same with a CV present are borderline stupid IMO as you've got an omnipresent spotter overhead but assume it's your right to play exactly the same and flank alone etc... WoT Arty tho, 3 in a game as a HT on an open map is utterly infuriating but that's why I play Med and LT these days. Plus unlike CVs they can strike anything without risk as a Carrier needs to expose it's strike groups at least. -
All it needs is an extra icon on the line up or even the spotted ship info. And to add radar ranges and duration in the ship preview in port without having to buy it... At least the info would be out there to easily access.

carrier The state of CVs - why the rework is necessary
RUSSIANBlAS replied to Teekesselchen's topic in General Discussion
Any rework that dumbs down CV play can only be bad. For all their power you should remember that they have a very limited ability to strike ships since their rearm is minutes rather than seconds on most ships. People who do well deserve it but it's just the disparity in skill with CVs is vast. Granted the same limited strike ability lets you in theory strike anything on the map but in reality you're often limited to the solo non team players. Especially at higher tiers when almost everyone packs decent AA, you might only get a few opportunities to strike at targets without being stripped of your hanger. I agree that CV Divisions are pretty obscene. A Kaga with hard AA support is simply unstoppable in the right hands. Although any good AA support Div with a CV is powerful. All I want to see with the rework is a less laggy interface rather than drastic changes but we'll see. -

Oh wow, maybe OP is that guy I bombed in a Tirp with my (then) brand new Enterprise. The guy said "WHAT JUST HAPPENED?!" when I got a First Blood Dev Strike...
