That's actually not a bad idea however you'd lose the 7% dispersion reduction... I find Yam is manageable with EM.

afaik, a Hiryu fighter squadron always beats a Saipan one aslong as both have or don't have the +1 Saipan fighters need strafe to get anything done from what I've seen

Has anyone else seen the Aerroon video where he tests IFHE on BB secondaries? Apparently brutal, twice as powerful as without it Although only at certain angles...

I think in the recent fail Q&A where they ignored RDF complaints WG said AR wasn't currently working for Secondaries.

WG don't want to fix CV as they'll be even stronger in the correct hands. I imagine enough noobs whine because they can't evade CV manual drops.

Did you hit R1 with AS or Strike?

Anything under about 40s turret rotation is fine for me personally. This will make seal clubbing even nastier when I put it on my Nikolai I await AR being given to Secondaries too. WG clearly want to make the Bismarck more op.

Stock Fletcher torps (basically the Benson's ones) are perfectly serviceable for the time being. Biggest issue is the MM will be ever less forgiving. I always take Defensive AA. Helps to stop those evil cross droppers.

I'm leaning towards AR for gunboats of all flavours. With the level 1 incap reduction skill the engine and steering isn't as much of an issue. Plus LS reduces your rudder and engine anyway which you'd usually repair in a knife fight anyway. The increased rate of fire gets hilarious when you're in the red, might as well benefit from being low hp. I've only done this because I've played a bit of Gremy and Anshan which need to skip LS for EM otherwise they're not shooting very much due to lol turret rotation. It's rare I die because I'm totally immobilized. What does everyone else think?

AS Hiryu is meant to beat AS Saipan in the right hands but for ordinary folk the Saipan might be better. I shamefully tried to learn Saipan in Season 4, probably upset a few folk!!

I always found the weak torps to hold the Sims back a little.

I don't think the fire chance is much less with IFHE. I've still got into double figures in good Kutuzov games with it. Epic direct damage however.

I'm musing over BB as they're my main class yet I sold out and got to R1 last season in a Cruiser. Scharn is a solid all round ship but not sure how good her guns will be when it's a bit more focused. Nagato has poor AA and armour even though her guns are the best for T7. Viable secondaries too. I'd say no as CVs will farm you. Gnesi might be my choice. I play her as literally a mini Tirp with the same CE build captain. I find a secondary spec means her main guns suffer. Guns themselves are tried and tested if you've played a lot of Tirp and the recent AA buffs (Manual AA for all) help too. Or I might get out the AS Hiryu or Saipan...

6 mins 20 seconds on a STANDARD map. I was a Saipan and did 20k damage YET I CAME TOP OF THE LOSING TEAM. How does that happen? I can paste screenshots or is that naming and shaming?

Epicentre helps counter the op nature of RDF as there will only be one objective and any DD who is trying to ninja at the side would be obvious even without the use of the map hack. Obviously WG are making Ranked Epicentre so they have data to say "oh RDF is FINE!"

Scharn AA certainly isn't pants with Manual AA which is entirely possible with a secondary build now. Maybe I'll give it a go simply to see if I can get the Jolly Roger 2 but I prefer the design of the original one.

I'd still roll with Manual AA. When you see it in action with Fat Freddy you'll want to keep it... CE is great too. The closer you can get before being spotted the better. Fire Prevention I'd consider if you're burning a lot.

I got part 5 last night without looking for it in my Yam. A Taiho wandered within 16km of me and ate some AP... Overall these missions seem ok this week.

Blys shouldn't be knife fighting. Crap rudder for a DD, fat also and as said the turrets are not hugely fast. Take Priority Targeting as the first skill. As a medium to long range gun boat you want to know who's targeting you.

IJN would need LS as they're not really for brawling in. I'm starting to agree, the amount of times I get my engines and/or rudder chain nuked where I'm out of Damage Control is fairly rare. Whereas I take damage most if not all games so AR will kick in. This is RU DDs and Blys I'm talking about however.

IFHE and get Priority Targeting so you know when the enemy has the hots for you. Take Adrenaline Rush too so you can punish BBs when they citadel you. Pick your times well, don't expose yourself for the sake of one salvo.

I've taken Vigilance but may go down to AR if I ever level her captain higher.

Oh God... The prices and xp you need to advance with free xp is eye watering. Makes Missouri look cheap and someone who hasn't grinded to a high level captain simply doesn't deserve it. Oh well, profits for WG...
