The biggest problem I have with CVs is the sheer cliff edge of ability. Majority of CV players out there are absolute junk, ppl who let you strafe them or have no idea of map control. Those people I can dominate. There does not appear to be anyone between them and the Super Unicum players who can snipe me and control my every move...

DB are the most frustrating thing ever, their RNG is insane. Even when you get 75% of the spread in the DD it still derps a lot... -
Potato Strike Rangers can be sniped to hilarious effects, they're pretty powerless vs a strike Hiryu. I usually don't bother and out play them unless other ships are rushing the CV.

An AS Saipan does that job if RNG wants to give the DB squadron a massive 10k strike. Any T7 DD is essentially out the game after a hit like that. I'm really considering trying to hit R1 with CV this time. After the elite tier of players hit R1 then whatever's left just flounder in CVs. -

I landed a massive 50k citadel on one the other day... IMO a good yard stick would be to grind the Monty. Should have the experience and free xp by then. -

The only skills I give up are EM and Vigilance. The build I use feels strong. -
A non CV is a fail choice as you have to hope the enemy CV throws everything at you again and again...

With or without Dogfighting, the Saipan needs to strafe and not click on enemy squadrons otherwise you'll take bad losses. -

Personally I did it because I could. I like named ships, it's essentially an Iowa with remixed AA and Radar. I wouldn't recommend paying for it, if you hit 750k naturally then consider it. -
I agree very much, don't take Artillery Plotting Room, it is a potato module. CE is amazing, for full effect don't shoot until you're almost revealed for epic Devastating Strikes

I take Adrenaline Rush instead of EM as I'm a DPM junkie. I don't bother with BoS, flags and Prem Consumables buff repair times enough for my tastes. Your own mileage may differ. -

Keep going, I was on 450k not long ago. I was playing as many games as I could with NY camo, Papa Papa flags and Daily bonuses. Goes up fast -
The last time I got sniped was when I tried to Langley Seal Club and I got taken out by a stronger clubber lol I consider it disrespect if someone tries sniping me, it's like being rushed in an RTS. All you need to do is harass/strafe the torp bomber of the USN Strike CV and you'll likely blunt their attack and not sink. Folk remember your fighters are for you first and foremost then to protect your fleet

True, can't take Vigilance either. I go without BFT, the secondaries do enough damage without, will be more so if WG add secondaries to Adrenaline Rush. -

I find Manual AA even without a range buff is pretty strong. You will still get farmed by Taiho and Hakaryu (plus that high tier USN ones I guess) without support but you can put the hurt on weaker CVs and they'll leave you alone. EM isn't needed, without it Tirp turrets still turn faster than a lot of her peers with EM. Just needs a bit more forward planning. -

With a 19 point captain you can have AFT, Manual AA and Manual Secondaries so you give up nothing. Personally I think the new skill tree has buffed German BBs. I think you will see a fair few CVs in Ranked. I may take Saipan or Hiryu. -
The Silver T6 BBs, namely NM and Fuso are awesome for Cruiser killing. Shotgun 12 barrel spread leads to many Cruiser Devastating Strikes. I'm set on collecting T6 BBs but I'll wait for reviews of Hull A Naga before making up my mind.

Naga AA is weak whereas Scharn with Manual AA is very competitive. Scharn with that build is entirely possible with secondaries with a good captain. -
I have enough credits not to care about sinking. I've let myself flood after being team torped if the guy is clearly bad.
