At least half if not more of all Random Battles are 1 sided drubbings where you can do nothing else than farm damage to get as much XP as possible as either your team or theirs are simply dying too fast...

Really a ship that needs 5 Ranked R1 wins? If it's even more of an OP powerhouse than the Flint I will laugh, giving the best players even more power? Rich getting richer etc

Scharn only has problems vs higher tier BB and for those who think she is a 15km sniper. Vs same or lower tier Scharn is very strong in a close range battle she'll both outlast and likely out damage you. I'm still loathed to take a BB into Ranked as I feel they're the weakest class in terms of influence you can bring to a game, you're reliant on others spotting and screening for you no matter how good you are. Whereas the smaller ships and CV can dictate things far better.

Add that Arizona users will at least vaguely know they are doing and aren't being forced to play her so will do a bit better...

Weak burst potential of Belfast is going to hurt in a 7v7 where there are less targets imo anyway. Fiji torps seem excellent but even her short fuse AP pales compared to what an IFHE Belfast can do with a few minutes free shooting.

True, a staggered un harassed CV strike will kill the best of ships without support let alone this poor thing. I can see what WG are trying to do. Rather than give us clone or buffed ships (Texas and Arizona) they're under tiering and reinventing hull A ships for resale. It's an interesting concept but I doubt this thing will be a very good captain trainer. Whereas USN BB has the ships I've mentioned and the Trump Wagon which is pretty much as good as trainers get. Still waiting for a re vamped late war Kongo class...

Let's see how this season of Ranked goes shall we? Previous seasons you'd see a lone DD running rings around remaining enemies and cappping/torping. But now they'll be hunted down. Not even sure if that's a good thing, quite a jarring way to close the DD Ranked meta. But I'll wait and see.

I laugh at WGs claims they wanted to move away from essential skills. So for DDs they've made 14 point captains compulsory rather than the old 15. Thanks guys

It might just be me but there feels like there are far less DDs around at mid tiers these days. It's about the same at higher ones. With USN and IJN DDs, RDF is my second 4th level skill. It's not really something i feel i can pass up. Pointless trying to stealth when you've already been figured out by another. You need to at least level the playing field. Annoying thing is without RDF the new skill tree would have been nice, things like CE and that CV 1+ plane would no longer be skills only an exclusive few had...

The Udalio when using HE seems to perform very well, almost like it already has IFHE. Russian bias...

My biggest issue with Ranked (although it may work out now since I'm better) is that so few CVs go into it. When I tried to play Saipan as a noob in S4 I was always getting the same player again and again, record was 4 in a row. Although that can work if you're better as you just farm them and stop playing if a Unicum shows up

I don't know the exact figures but it seems like the Standard USN BBs (Colorado included) take massive damage from IFHE as so much of the ships are lightly armoured... There will be a lot of IFHE spammers this season.

Personally I say no. High Tier USN DD feel better as torp boats with excellent guns to provide self defence. I find I score better if I focus on torping rather than shooting stuff. Better saving the skill points for luxury torp boat skills than guns.

I recently re-thought how I play Fletcher and I'm basically getting far better results. E.g not using it as a gunboat but as a torp boat with excellent self defence guns. The ships that the IJN DDs should probably have been

In that particular game I had to play that way as if I died my team would have had no eyes. Still sucks that there is no reward for it... I'll be playing more IJN DDs but not in a rush.

I play enough BB to not feel stock Fiji turrets are an issue. Not going to give the back ones out often as I don't want to get shot out. How important do you guys find Vigilance? It can see through smoke no? Would be helpful when smoke camping altho experience counts for more than better spotting distance.

Even EM isn't going to get you anywhere near USN DD auto turrets. Those things turn insanely fast and take away the need for any sort of forward planning. I've tried playing IJN DDs recently. Had a great game in my Hatsu, was the only DD and did a lot of spotting and calling but very little damage. I probably did more to win than most but finished bottom half... Thing is I'd like to say i played as intended but got no reward for it.

Oh I don't disagree the ship is strong and likely op. But in a heavy BB meta you still need to play with care, still only an AP salvo away from death. It's amusing as I remember reviews of her claiming she wasn't that strong and possibly even a little bad. (Thinking of the LWM review)

Actually I prefer to toy with someone but I'm not really at that level to inflict it on others yet. A snipe is a huge time sink, potentially approaching 5 mins which can be better spent in close support. Besides team mates love being bailed out by their CV. Rather than snipe, I'd spot for our ships or divert a bomber or two. Plenty of folk will jump at the chance to blow up a CV.

Slow down to 18 knots, pop smoke and slow to an immediate stop. Hasn't bugged for me yet doing that. -
Yes, I've noticed mid ranged BB are often harder to torp drop as the top tier stuff tends to be huge. Plus you'd just drop outside of their inner AA zones. As long as I spot well the BBs tend to handle the AA cruisers. Think I'm slowly getting CVs, I rarely run out of planes. It's just a bit hard to improve sometimes as there are so many awful CV players around.

I've got both and Yam isn't miles above the Warspite. Even compared to Nikolai. Warspite's dispersion is as good as it gets. For it's tier the guns are insane once you've understood their spread and shell travel time.

I want to be proven wrong but it's just too slow... With 21 knots you better hope you've read the battle right at the start or in a 3 cap domination you're simply out of the game. Plus if WG hates you and spawns you somewhere stupid then you're seriously hamstrung too.
