I'm still debating whether to play Shira or Belfast... Problem with Belfast is everyone can pray on you outside of cover and smoke where as a Shira can stay outside of radar range and torp frustrate a team to hell. I've lost games where a Shira sits on a flank and the team either has to chase it and waste time or suffer torps.

Anyone who is in a clan and feels the need/pressured to help their opposing clanmate in a Ranked either has no self worth or is just a low skill potato trying to boost their betters. If I had time to clan and I was asked to help my Red buddies win I'd say F Off. Stacking MM is valid late at night sadly but it can back fire too so isn't an issue.

Belfast seems like a buffed Flint anyone can pay for. I see them easily out perform Flints when they're in the same game. I'm considering selling out and using her in Ranked. Toyed with Gnesi, Scharn and Shira but I clutched in Belfast last night. DD are simply powerless vs you when their BB buddies are dead, learn the radar range and you'll squish them. Only issues are you need to focus enemy ships fast as your low alpha might mean games run away from you and not to make smoke camping too obvious (save hydro for then or something).

That's probably only really possible at weird times of the day, plus I bet they had plenty of derp MM where there were on different teams so not everyone profited...

In Ranked seasons prior to this it was not an uncommon thing to smack DDs in smoke with torps. Even in the Premier League, folk will still eat smokey torps on regular occasions. RN cruisers including Belfast make less puffs and are bigger, there are a lot of players who will eat smoke torps they simply have no prospect of dodging. Plus in long games the smoke consumables do run dry, which can get "interesting" if enough BBs have survived until then.

The only real issue I can see is potatoes get spooked and don't push which leads to landslide games.

That 5th mission is pretty much impossible unless you actively go looking. Unless you're a decent CV player or a T10 cruiser who's being ignored by the enemy! -
Problem is if you drive away the casuals, children and general idiots then the population would be far less and the game would be less successful...

It properly F's up my aim on BBs. To the point where I don't bother. Really messes up my depth perception. It's ok for cruisers that have it as you can walk fire onto stuff but not with BBs. -
Some ppl whine about it, I've been hated on in Ranked as I was the last man in a BB and on yellowing to red hp... I've got nothing to hide, all the potatoes and try hards can look all they want. I'm still laughing at the guy who got farmed by Shira in his Belfast. He started saying I was a noob as I had only won Ranked once with 400 battles. Claimed he was some sort of multi winner with a 70% Belfast WR. Still doesn't shield him from the torp walls evidently

Just taking Defensive AA is enough, rather than buffing AA as you're unlikely to be killing any T10 planes with Atago's abysmal AA rating. Unless, of course you stack up with others. -
Don't knock that tactic, I've seen it work as the enemy potato team will follow that one BB into A1 whilst the lone DD ninja caps and wins

I had RDF as a 2nd 4th skill but I don't think it's needed and I'll change it when I play her seriously again. I know Flamu claims to spec for AA as he says it's useful in competitive games but we're not him and most of us aren't going to be pretend or real pro gamers. Maybe I'll take Jack of All Trades or Torpedo Re arm (whatever it's called). -
Maybe people push even less for objectives as you can find yourself capped against on every point quite often but from a friend who took about 6 months out: things are pretty much the same.

I tried the Akat since I had one in my port for some reason (IJN split I believe). It's main advantages over the Shira is that it has 1 more torp in a salvo (if Shira torp reloader is on CD) and you have 3x3 rather than 2x4 so can have more precision. It's also faster and has ONE more gun. However it's concealment is worse and as mentioned lacks the reload booster. Once the Belfasts all die then its party time for Shira. Besides you can't beat a 16 point torp wall if you know the right moment to deploy it, I don't entirely yet however

Udaloi is an insane ship, it turns better than TrashKan and can fire much much faster. It's buffed in every way, I find even stock was pretty dammn good. Use that fast reload module for the main guns and profit.
