WG fail yet again RE the Super League, so rather than do something intelligent like ban people (too labour intensive) or no reward for 0 XP players they implement the below: Info from Kandly, WG Community Coordinator: As many of you know, we introduced an additional reward for Super League in Ranked Battles Season 6. According to the original idea, any player who reaches Rank 1 would gain access to a special mission. This mission would provide him with one Container for each battle played in the Super League. The intention of this move was to provide a nice reward to those brave souls who have fought their way to the top. Unfortunately, we have observed a surge of unsportsmanlike conduct in the Super League. Many players decide to leave the battle after loading to get a container immediately without any actual contribution to the match. This situation clearly contradicts the whole idea of Super League missions and prevents conscious players from having fun. In light of this behavior (and its scale), we decided to take action and change the conditions of these missions. With new rules, a Container will be rewarded only to top-2 players by XP earned in each team. This change will make unsportsmanlike conduct meaningless and protect well-doing players. We also offer an apology to fair players and hope that, when the change takes effect, their experience will be much more pleasant. We kindly remind you that any conduct that disrupts gaming experience can be treated as violation of Game Rules. We reserve the right to investigate Super League participants battle logs and apply restrictions to their accounts if necessary. We are constantly monitoring the situation and plan to react accordingly based on the results of this change. Let’s support fair play and fun, especially in the honorable group of Super League participants! Clarification by Tuccy, WG Staff: Just to clarify few things: This change is global, as the abuse was quite widespread. That is also why the solution may appear a bit hasty – it is basically an emergency brake. It may or may not change in the future, but before we would set out to make a better system we simply needed to pull the lever to stop the current one. The basic foundation of Super League was aiming at all of you who called for a skill based gameplay and to let Rank 1 players play against each other (and may I remind that before Super League was introduced, the frequent feedback was accompanied by “even without special rewards” ;)). Unfortunately the system was not designed with abuse in mind and it would seem that the much maligned random containers are indeed a strong motivator not only to play, but also to abuse system. This is also main difference to leaving battle in normal Random / Ranked – if you end with 0, 0, 0 or even low score, you get no reward – here you would. Yes, it was a flaw int he system and, again, to plug it we needed to slam the brakes hard. As for possible sanctions on players found in breach of game rules – as a general rule we do not discuss disciplinary actions on forums, so do not expect any lists, ban announcements, naming and shaming etc. Hope this helps to explain the background of this decision a bit.

If you are having issues with the turrets you could be too close. Anything closer than 10km will be challenging. Wouldn't bother speccing secondaries. Don't take the fast reload module. I tried and the turrets become impossible. Yam is a mid range monster but you're entirely dependant on your team, more so than other BBs. Aim lower, the guns are amazing compared to anything else in game. You will notice the difference when you pilot other BB.

Had two BBs chase me up to A line the other day. I was in a Sims. They had NO prospect of finding me or chasing me down yet they did so. Needless to say they lost... Ranked promotes some weird behaviours!

Sometimes people forget to add camo as they use special stuff like that stupid NY one that adds more free XP. I've done that and its most irritating.

The deck itself caught fire seemingly all the time, ppl used to joke about it being a big BBQ deck and I can understand why. The Hull A was uplifted but sadly that was after my time in her. Zumo armour is actually very thick when angled properly, 16" guns often bounced with little to no damage. But I'd rather take an Iowa into battle than the Izumo, better speed, concealment and AA beats better armour. Guns are probably about the same for both, I prefer the USN guns simply because I've fired more shots with them.

Asking for a buff for Zumo is pointless. The Yam is your reward for suffering it. Unlock it via free XP or grinding and forget the T9 IJN BB ever existed. That is all.

I didn't play in the Super League last season even though I made R1 with a week to go. Simply had no stomach for it lol Will see this time...

I've got Fat Freddy and will get Grosse KurryWurst one day. Will be like the Monty, didn't work towards it. Just had enough xp one day and unlocked.

There's simply no reason to own this ship when you've unlocked the Yam. As Yam does everything better... Main issue with Zumo is I find the guns don't work as well as they should for all the disadvantages the ship brings, bad concealment, huge size, slow speed and tanker like agility. Unlike Iowa/Missouri who have superb concealment (slightly broken if you ask me) and are the fastest BB in the game.

Nearing the Premier League in the Sims. My WR this season is fairly potato but I've only just found a formula that works for me in the last week. A lot of experimental losses... If I continue my record today then I should rise up fairly fast. 9 games, 6 wins, 3 losses and finished top of two of them so a 5 star gain. I've found RDF is a pretty significant skill for the Sims, the awareness it buys you is un beatable. Plus any IJN DD that dares try and flank your team is going to be completely nullified, you can simply chase them down and there's little they can do. Slower, weaker guns and trying to torp a tiny DD with an amazing rudder won't end well for Jap Torp Boats...

I just had the strangest Ranked game... Was a Sims and two BBs somehow thought it the best course of action to chase me all the way to the A line on the map. I was not revealed and stayed in concealment and also a Sims is a fair bit faster than Gnesi & Naga. What on earth did they hope to achieve from it?! (We won big that game)

I don't find the different buttons for the same consumable on different ships an issue... Just take pause at the start of a battle and put on the hat of whatever ship you're using. Although I think WG say they want to implement custom keys at some stage, probably 2018 or later

WG should add them to Ranked to increase the rage of Season 6.

Yes, from another perspective that's why Scharn shines also. A BBs capability vs other BBs is a little less important in Ranked as it's likely others are going to help you whittle down enemy ones. It's more important you can help kill smaller ships and take damage. Others can get Naga working and I'm not even using BB in Ranked though!

Their Ranger still mid table... Makes you wonder how bad some players are.

The yolo & potato is evenly spread on both teams usually... I'd rather see Irrevocable completely removed to stop some being carried higher than they deserve.

Also both the German sisters can take Adrenaline Rush and get speed reloads for those clutch situations, neither needs Expert Marksman. Naga really needs it. With AR a Gnesi can reload in almost 20s and Scharn can go down to nearly 15s.

I cannot agree that Naga is the best Ranked BB. Bad armour takes obscene damage from IFHE and Gnesi/Colo guns punch straight through her bow. Scharn guns do well too. Her guns are not optimal for close range brawling. Rate of fire is too slow and over pens everywhere vs Cruisers. They're not even "that" accurate. The perfect Ranked BB this season is the Scharn. Quick firing guns with their shotgun.spread lets you help out vs the DDs. Great armour and an excellent close range package with full secondary build, torps and a 19 point captain. Nevertheless I won't play BBs in Ranked, you simply can't influence the game enough unlike a smoke cruiser or DD. You're almost a spectator whilst the map control battle unfolds.

Top tier is when BBs become super powered, when something like a Yam or even Monty can do 50k+ damage in one salvo it makes a lot of other weapons redundant. Meh I barely play up there anyway, campy meta.

I'm back on the Sims again as Belfast is too dull and you really rely on spotters. There are a lot of bad DDs around. Sims (and Mahan i imagine) is a fleet guardian. You stay within your cruisers effective gun range and in return you smoke, spot and chase away the Shira who threaten your flock.

An AS Saipan isn't the best but it is still light years away from a 1/1/1 Ranger who will get completely shut down by 3xT9 Fighter Squadrons... The match I had, their CV ended up with Clear Sky and ours nothing. The meta may not favour 3/0/1 Saipan as much but it still gives very good spotting and the single super DB Squadron will put the hurt on anything it can drop on.

Just lost 3 in a row, one because of a 1/1/1 Ranger on our team vs an AS Saipan (we had absolutely no chance). Another because a DD and a Cruiser yoloed within the first few mins, couldn't contest the cap and quickly lost. And finally because we had a ship sailing outside the epicentre trying to snipe whilst their team pushed well. Part of Ranked is putting up with all this cr@p and making it count when you can... As I think we've discussed before on here, even people who are Super Unicum have a WR in Ranked only in the 60s. Unless they really are "that" exceptional.
