Yes, it has an insane amount of utility and can kill any ship it faces with ease with IFHE. Problem is I find the Belfast desperately boring to play over and over again. It's very slow and campy but needs a lot of spamming of the guns. You don't really carry in a DD, you just give others the opportunity to. That might be boring for some too so horses for courses!

Hmm about that. I do not believe WG wants or understands competitive gaming at it's highest level. The way they balance the game with patches and their hap hazard premium ship policy shows this. Whilst I don't agree with your issues around DDs eating BB AP penetrations, it's possibly another symptom of this. As in a potato isn't going to be able to pin a DD with his big guns but a decent player can and the game isn't really set up to accommodate for both sets of players.

Bleh, thought it was directed at me. Nevermind, so much for using a phone to follow threads Going back to your original post though, you got lit up by radar and paid the price basically no? High tier is a camp fest anyway and if you've been lit up by their DDs then your team can also shoot back at them. Cruisers are far more of an issue than BBs are, I'd rather take fire from 2 BBs or more than one Cruiser...

Excuse me? I play plenty of DD thanks, currently up to Rank 4 in one and I've played my fair share. Being 1 shotted by a BB isn't one of my main concerns. Picking the moment is key to anything in this game as is team work. Rushing out of concealment so a BB can shoot you is not the correct way...

I'm having no issues whatsoever playing DD this season. You simply assume your DD has a concealment of 8.49km, smoke your buddies and they drop the hammer on enemy ships. USN and IJN can torp smoke well, even if they don't get hits it disrupts formations. Eastern Bloc ships maybe not so well due to their range. BBs simply love well deployed USN smoke clouds as they out perform RN puffs in every way.

FP is my only 4th level Nikolai skill as I want to be seen since I am always the alpha predator in any MM and I want enemies to react to me I've taken other stuff like AR and will take Vigilance one day if I club enough seals but I haven't used her much recently...

I actually removed Fire Prevention on all of my BB captains. With Prem Consumables and a brain you simply don't need it. If you burn down it's almost always because you've over extended. Although i do have FP on my Nikolai but that's simply to troll

With experience a BB with a large number of guns (10 or 12) can reliably got a brain dead broadside sailing DD at about 10km or less. I know I can in the Scharn and Iowa/Missouri. If the DD is twisting around then it's a big ask as it really is scatter gun RNG praying. I'd argue only the skillful BB pilots are able to punish bad DDs. Is this wrong?

Belfast can only carry with good spotters. I'm not saying it's not a bit op (maybe remove the last module so it can't do that crap where being spotted by a DD is 100% guaranteed to radar them due to the buffed concealment) but it definitely needs support. I'm having better success with DDs than Belfast as I prefer to try and counter the meta.

Yus... I should probably take a break now Wut? Are you asking for DDs to have even less armour? The times I get decent penetration damage shooting DDs in a BB is fairly rare. It's usually over pen for 1k or there abouts, if it was consistent then I would possibly agree with you but currently no.

Some of the fatter DD can potentially take massive damage from DDs. Also if you're a a funny angle you can actually aid the BB in not getting an over pen. The majority of the time a BB shooting a DD will result in an over pen and low damage anyway unless they happen to load HE. Personally I don't think this is an issue and I'm playing Ranked with the Sims right now...

Great review LWM Although I'd disagree with Atlanta being bad in competitive mode. I know at least one madman that's taken her to Rank 1 this season and rumours of another who did the same pre IFHE and pre Radar

BB whine threads upset me... Mostly because ppl laugh at BBabies yet they're my favourite class. OP needs to go play other ship classes, all the ship classes in fact before making an informed opinion...

My dreams of playing CV Ranked died extremely early and young... Ranked attracts all the beastly CV players. I stats check CVs before Ranked games and a lot of them are CV only specialists. Maybe I'll start training for next season now... Pro CVs are an automatic win in Ranked it seems. I think I'd rather be with 1 elite CV and 5 potatoes than a potato CV and 5 Flamu level players...

I've never owned a Mahan, well I did free xp past her. The torps aren't much better, both are slow and low damage. Sims has the insurance policy of Defensive AA (I know Mahan can have it too but Sims is more agile on top). Plus she has a superior rate of fire and has a lol xp multiplier. I've finished top with 9k damage in RB with Sims. I'll write up my Sims experience when I'm done with Season 6. Rank 4 now so can't be long...

So can the turret turn rate! The extreme firepower of the Yam leads me to feel that I don't need 26s reloads. It's like that web chart thing where you only have a finite amount of attributes and adding to one takes from another. Still, if it works then carry on! AR could be used to buff reloads as a Yam is going to take damage. Then again reload module AND AR is probably fairly tasty

The "normal" turret rotation gives you just that little bit more flexibility. The reload module makes the Yam that slightly bit harder to use, I find her more comfortable without but I can see the benefits of epic reload speeds.

Meh Whilst a single container is a rubbish reward the changes aren't exactly nice to those who haven't hit R1 within the first week. That's the part I "don't understand".
