A friend was talking to a Unicum who recommends Scharn uses HE at medium range and only switched to AP when 10 km or less where Scharn pen resembles a full fat BB. I do that in Random now and it feels effective as you burn them until the brawl and the secondaries take over. Plus you encourage them to burn their DCP.

No, totally. I accept I've used an OP ship to boost my way up the ladder. Without the XP multiplier being what it is, I'd probably still be playing now. Yes, it's an un even playing field but WG have done that. People talk about OP Belfast smoke and IFHE but I still think a good DD is the Ranked King. It's just the game slows down a bit with smoke and radar but essentially the meta is as Ranked always has been. Still, Sims attributes encourages you to team play and that is the most OP Ranked skill of them all.

They should nerf the AA aura, as in it shuts down if the gun is shooting at a surface ship and only resumes if it's not otherswise occupied.

Dunno, you still really need your team to be competent but Sims is insane for it's role. Excellent knife fighter, good T7 concealment, op XP gains. Even the torp can be worked around.

I've seen a few of those on the highest game leaderboard on the way through. The ones I've encountered aren't bots, they're just bad...

Yes, ppl complain about the Belfast but I think the Sims xp modifier is worse. DD hunters generally score extremely well. Kill a DD and cap and you'll finish high if not top of a lot of games. Killing BBs gives you crap xp unless you're getting 100k+ damage.

I've kept a small shame list of the worse and most arrogant players I came across in Ranked. One of them was well in their way to 1000 games... Is that sinking feeling when someone starts talking crap right at the start. Doesn't come with the rest of the team and dies fast then abuses you all more.

This has been happening for a long time. It's even the case in Ranked. So many games often finish with the winning team having 5+ living ships compared to an obliterated opponent...

Buying the free XP to unlock the Udaloi upgrades is cheaper than getting the Perm camo, especially if you wait for an x35 offer. Although that still involves spending what you shouldn't have to. Udalio plays the same so to say Trashkan replaces her is laughable. Defensive AA is a slight buff but it hardly makes it a new ship and doesn't justify the 85k you need to grind nor the pain games retraining the captain.

So I could have gained free camo if I bought Udaloi pre patch? Would still have been an 85k xp hit however...

It's a tweak rather than a full blooded buff. Changes aren't going to save you in a great many situations...

I found RDF very strong if you're a USN DD and are supporting/defending your fleet. It isn't always apparent how useful it is but a real time feed of the nearest enemy can really ruin flanking DDs.

The main line feels pretty bad. Shira at T7 is all the torp boat you'll ever need and Aki just above her is an awesome pew pew shooty boat. It's like why would you play Akat when you can Shira...

The 10 torp salvo is pretty hard hitting. That alone attracts me towards the ship. Decent upgraded guns and nice concealment means you can pick your fights too. -

To anyone who can hold their own in the Premier League I recommend they keep trying, you'll get R1 as you've shown you deserve to be there. Just don't lose heart over all the R5 R6 skimmers dragging you down!

Propulsion mod is useful on DDs with ultra fast default rudder, opens up opportunity for sneakier tactics and you can dodge torp walls in an amazing fashion by braking and turning. I hope that WG guy was taking the p1$$ when he said Shira was over performing and may need nerfs. She's the jewel in the IJN DD range now...

I sold all the gifted RU DD under T8, they all look like bad versions of the Lenin... I can see Lenin sales increasing now as kids will want a well fitting RU captain trainer... Trashkan looks interesting with her ultra long range guns, really is a mini cruiser now complete with heal but I've put my decent captain into my Udaloi as that ship is awesome.

I tried playing a few T10 yesterday and the biggest issue with any T10 BB is the other players... The camping meta is just awful, it isn't even tactical as almost no one makes any effort to cap and you'll lose plenty of games that are simply over from the start. More so than in other tiers!

Haven is especially good when it's a Standard map as it's another excuse to camp and not push Not that the average player needs encouragement!!

I was very happy when I got the Udaloi after grinding Trashkan for weeks on and off. The very first game in her I simply understood the ship. Never had any intention of pushing for Khab but it might have been a long term goal like what the Monty was. E.g good if I got there but not going to grind or lose sleep if I don't. Now I doubt I'll ever get it as a slightly buffed Trashkan still looks bad. Only had a 14 point captain on Udaloi thankfully and I'm a lot of the way there already after playing Kutuzov and Murmanks games.
