That's one way (the correct way imo) to do business. Nowadays it's about selling to as many people as possible even if you screw over loyal fans and dedicated customers. EA are still reaping decent profits and they've been cynical DLC day 1 money grabs and dumb down merchants for years...

Oh and I forgot about CVs too, if they were stronger than would help cull the BB hordes too...

Whilst some of us bicker between us (not us specifically ) Can't help but wonder if WG have deliberately engineered this situation. Considering IJN DDs get slapped down all the time, no apparent nerfs to BB as a counter balance (lets face it, the new captain skills back in Jan are a BB buff too), the stealth firing thing too. I still remember when Sima used to be a terror and I've learnt how to deal with torpedo soup but now it seems there's less demand for those skill sets. I laugh at WG suggesting that Shira needs nerfs... It's just at the higher tiers BB lose most of their weaknesses and get 70k+ HP. To torp big ships to death either needs a complete idiot in the BB or just a lot of effort for the little torp boat. Still though, in the competitive cluster that is Ranked. BBs are far rarer than in Randoms. Maybe a hard cap would be beneficial although if it was to come in I'll imagine it'll be something high like 5/12 players.

Thing is, the amount of BB in games isn't even good for BBs themselves. The average T8+ game is usually a 1 sided garbage fest where one side will camp and go nowhere near a cap because their DD are either potatoes too or have just died. I mean I've grinded out all 3 T10 BBs but I don't find any of them fun to play because of the camp meta. I'd rather play a DD at that tier. Mid levels from T5 to T7 are fine for MM most of the time (unless you're something like an Emerald in a hard T7 game).

WG EU believe in treating it's customers as mean as possible within reason. Should numbers fall to that of the NA server then I'm sure we'll see excellent offers and missions...

Then what's the point in asking for replays and "evidence" of how well cruisers are performing then?

What class the average low skill potato plays is largely irrelevant I think as they're going to under perform whatever you put them in. Of that 40% of BB players how many within there are actually any good and make a real difference in game? And is that more skilled number any more numerous than the other winners of the other 3 ship classes? I hate playing T9 and T10 BBs because you're stuck with players who have no idea how to make things happen and win games. Going first as a BB is suicide at the top tiers. Maybe I'm actually agreeing in a roundabout way...

Played another with Indianapolis. Only 40k damage, T8 game but only 3 BB on the enemy team. I died to an Amagi atleast so that gives all the BB complainers a bit of ammunition. No BB hordes today however...

Five enemy ones on the Fiji game. Five again on the Yorck one and four on the Pepsi game. No DD in the Fiji game either, it was mostly cruisers...

All in the last hour or so. Pepsi won, Yorck lost and Fiji won. Survived all 3, did 40k damage for the USN and KM cruisers and somewhere over 140k in the Fiji. I don't play cruisers often but enough to know what they're about. Personally I don't think showing off my own replays actually proves anything as you could argue it was the MM or my (lack?) of skill. Needs a lot more concentration than BB play I'll give you that much. Top tier is possibly a different debate all together as the maps and meta gives cruisers a little less space to survive due to all the long range rubbish that potatoes like to do. I've only got the Atago, Kutuzov and Prinz Eugen that high up so any replays I throw out will get P2W accusations

DDs are still the strongest class, with arguably a well played CV up there too. The average player playing as BB doesn't bother me. Although it's a bit annoying to lose games because all the BBs don't push and just sit there. Cruiser play is fine even with huge BB numbers. Just pick your targets wisely and don't reveal yourself for the sake of one salvo.

Kiev is when it starts to get good. After Kiev, the reborn Trashkan is actually excellent. Sit at 14km and HE spam everyone, nothing they can do about it. Although the problem with that is it's hard to influence games like a normal DD. Udaloi on the alternate tree performs more like a true DD as it handles better so you don't get shredded when you're closer in. Haven't had the pleasure of Khaba yet but it can't be bad...

I'm fairly sure I was using my GK, which I don't actually like. My favourite T10 BB is actually the Monty as it's the only one with good concealment and doesn't handle like a brick that's been glued to the floor

That's why you play USN DD and do your best to shepherd them into smoke positions of your choosing. Best way to balance the odds when your team may not be that skilled...

The smarter ones will smoke at angles with island cover and have an escape route for when it runs out so they can't be torped as easily...

My favourite is how any Commander XP weekend means no double XP bonus. Really spoiling us etc

I'm keeping my Fat Freddy even though I'm about to get into a GK. Something about it just works for me. Average damage of 85k in it can't be bad!

There were 3 point cap maps in previous seasons. I think 2 points lead to tighter gameplay and promote better teamplay. Even if that's just forcing potatoes to sail together it helps...

I just slapped one for 40k in a Missouri. Mind you the guy was broadside and Missouri has extremely punchy guns, would have got similar damage vs other BBs.

The TLDW (too long didn't watch) of that video is essentially the citadel in Iowa class is high because USN mused that the average engagement ranges for BB is extreme ranges (something like 28km+ I think). At which range the deck armour will provide ample protection. WOWS ranges are condensed which means Iowa class takes a lot of side armour damage. It's citadel isn't "raised" it's where USN keeps its ammo too.

(Un) fortunately my Kutuzov captain rides in the Murmansk every now and again. Woe T4 ships vs IFHE....
