They actually are, at steep angles (only showing front 2 turrets) they're all very tough to try and pen. I really think Alabama is going to be the #1 BB pick over other T8 BBs in any future Ranked Season. Paired with a Defensive Fire AA it'll be unstoppable vs CVs although not that it's worth air dropping torps on a 50% reduction. Guns will do a number on anything it might face too.

Yes... I felt salty enough after re training and re grinding one RU DD and captain. TX requires a lot of focused effort that in the current meta simply isn't worth it.

That TX thing is a bit of a slap to those who haven't played/paid but I guess it's better than nothing...

I don't know if folk are playing the Aki wrong or not but I do fine in her. Your primary is to hunt DDs and protect your own fleet. Shooting HE at BBs is an utter waste of time if there are cruisers and DD to go after instead. BB shooting is to XP farm later when their escorts are all gone. You're better off saving your torp reloader and launching 8x10km torps at the BB as even one hit will do what 100 HE hits will. Of course if BB has flooded and DCP then it's burn time...

A 12 point RN captain is worth banking for if they ever release BBs...

Also unless you really like T5 to T7 RU DDs I wouldn't bother with Lenin as I don't think she's worth using to train up T8+ RU DDs. Then again I have Kutuzov, Murmansk and Gremy for that already...

We're going a bit off topic. There is an Aki thread on the DD Section. Personally I don't use CE on Aki. You don't want to be closer than 6.6km anyway and if you're spotted before you see them then start evasive stuff. Anything that can out spot you at 6.6km would be stupid to open fire first. Unless it's a Gearing or something lol...

Back to Kraken this week...

All the nerfs and changes put me off grinding new lines. I stopped IJN cruisers at T6. Whilst I'm competent with an Atago i see no reason to invest time and money to climb up the tree. Likewise with when RU DDs split recently. I didn't spend a penny on principle to re train and unlock my Udaloi and captain. I'll still have a Khaba one day but no rush... I know it's a developing game but WG consistently do a bad job at informing players and not upsetting them.

IFHE is 100% necessary for Aki imo, it means you don't have to switch out to AP vs DDs sometimes and you can HE spam cruisers pretty well too.

That's the problem with buffed Prem ships. I imagine a lot of us can afford them out of our disposable income and want a bit of an advantage or at least not to grind a weaker silver ship. Good for US BB players here but adds fuel to the P2W argument.

Imagine the lols in months time when clueless CVs tier up and have no idea how to Manual Drop or strafe at higher tiers. In fact WG should have made Kaga T8 and watched the lol as potato wallet warriors get violated by T10 AA and end up with an average damage of 0.

+1... If your Aki gets into a DD knife fight you better hope your guns focus him down before he torps... I don't actually think Aki will change much as vs bigger stuff you tend to need torps unless you like doing 30k damage for 200 hits lol...

It's confirmed in game now... What used to be the Citadel armour belt is now just the Armour belt. Before: Now: I mean you're still not going to want to show broadside but that looks like it'll stop those massive 50k citadels now...

WG are taking the p!$$... T5 vs T6 CV is brutal as it is without T5 being utterly hamstrung with weaker planes with NO alt fire. This was on that Reddit Q&A. Question: are tier V CV's getting protected MM where they won't see tier VI CV's ? Answer: No. In any case T-V CV can meet T-VI CV in battle, it will be accompanied by additional friendly T-VI CV and countered by additional T-V enemy CV. While this will indeed increase the difference between T-V and T-VI CVs, such situation will hardly make noticeable impact. But we are aware of this concern, so we will be paying much attention to it.

It's one of the oldest tricks in RTS. I'm sure being base rushed (e.g sniped) is something that was a thing in Starcraft over twenty years ago. The fact it works on anyone is staggering in itself here, keep your fighters in a covering position until you see their bombers, even if their fighters come out you WAIT. The fact its worked for you 8/10 times is just crazy, you think someone would learn after being sniped out more than once

Four effin' percent?!? That's essentially only the Elite or mad. Probably about the same population in game who are Rank 1.

I actually hate my GK. The meta ruins it as everyone hangs back, since you're basically a floating island everyone shoots you and lands successfully because of your size. Freddy still feels like a mobile BB still. It's almost in that Iowa vs Monty situation. In that I'd rather take the T9 into any MM than the TX.

I outplay most Ryujo in my 1/1/1 Indie but can't see 1/1/1 working for Ranger as Strike Hiryu gets so strong, let alone the quicksilver death that is Saipan. At least a Hull B Ranger has a huge hanger to soak up the losses but I'll feel like that Skybuck guy...

The OP... Still, we all share the same game OP only thing i can suggest is to learn and play all classes. Then you'll likely learn to deal with most MM configurations.

The Caution is just the high tier camp meta. Don't push until it's safe etc... I play FDG as a mid range ship. I've built for CE and Manual AA with 420mm guns and the accuracy module. My stats for it are pretty ok and I think my build fits the meta. You won't be in secondary range that often...

Neither Strike Hiryu or Strike Saipan (let's face it, they are both the optimal load out most of the time) will achieve air dominance over the other. Neither has the fighter cover for it. Unless Kaga literally has a build that gives 3 or 4 (?!?) Fighter Squadrons and has a decent strike package too I can't see this dynamic changing.
