No, the Royal Navy 15" gun is literally the same weapon. They made about 180 of them around WW1 and used them ever since. Even Vanguard uses the same gun. Of course the shells and FCS develop over time but the barrels themselves are all the same. Anyone who knows better feel free to correct me.

Loads of RN BB have 2x4 15" guns, even up to the last BB ever launched e.g the Vanguard. Better get used to various tweaked 15" guns of similar flavours.

I actually find Trashkan quite hard to play as her rudder and turning circle suck. Big ship too so you're easy to hit. Udaloi feels much more effective...

Good luck hitting anything at maximum range with your main guns... There is a reason why USN BBs can have concealment buffed to 12km or so. It's because you can withhold your fire until you're detected. It's far more effective than sniping.

It looks very "ordinary" a part from the Defensive AA. Could even be a Silver Tech Tree ship...

Gun boat vs DD is valid as I'm trying to play Trashkan and when you're the only DD on that side everyone expects you to cap but it's suicide vs real DDs and good concealment. Might as well try to Cruiser cap...

I'd sooner keep my Gremy... I have both and Gremy is more rewarding as it needs more skill to play. You'll be bored of Nikolai in a day or so if you owned it. Nice to have for the occasional clubbing however

IMO Alabama isn't a brawler. Poor secondaries and the turrets still don't track well under hard turns at close range. I'd say her optimal range is between maybe 7km to about 14km. Great ship but NC does essentially do the same job. Too bad Alabama doesn't have a "war" camo like Missouri does. You probably can get essentially the same experience with an NC with Perm Camo. I like Alabama's short squat looks too

I'm fairly sure FDG the T9 German BB was actually laid down and was intended to be a meatier Bis. Although the German H Designs were for a world where Germany won WW2 I think..

Good Scharns will burn you back! I've stopped using AP vs angled stuff/ships that are over 10km. Seems to get better results.

I just played a high tier game where a Bismarck said DDs SHOULD LEARN TO PLAY. Ironically he was playing with an allied DD in a fail Div AND he tried to clan stack as the other team has his clan in it too

I'm pretty sure I've heard in interviews that WG staff are pumped for their own nation so much that they do free over time to get their own ships into the game... Doesn't their chief ship modeller think the RU BB Murat or something is the greatest BB of all time?

Hiryu 2/2/2 is probably the best for general purpose CV play for T7. Debatable what Prem stuff is meant to bring. Saipan is noticeably different to other USN CVs anyway and Kaga is looking like it's going to be something similarly unique. I see what you mean as there's plenty of Premium ships that are very similar to their tech tree equivalents. It's possible 2/2/2 Kaga can even be balanced as they'd all be weaker T6 planes but with a massive reserve. Ha, I don't like no Fighter Strike decks either but plenty do well in them. I don't like having no comeback for enemy fighters and having to deal with the whine from my team that I'm offering them zero air cover

If you want balanced you play the Hiryu. I dabble in CVs but Kaga looks nasty to me. I dislike strike builds and the stacked double torp bomber build looks like a micro nightmare for less effective results but we'll wait for the reviews...

True, Hood is famous enough to justify being mirrored in game as close as possible. Atago is actually the Takao if I'm not mistaken.

There's about 4 Hood topics already. So many more in days to come... WG can play with tiers. Ships are often knocked up or down. Like Cleveland (down) and arguably Scharn, Gnesi, Colo,Naga sit in a weird bracket of BBs.

Maybe WG will buff Hood to her proposed upgrades? Then the purists would whine but we'd have a strong in game fast BB

Barely, a long range USN sniping DD for instance is useful to no one. The changes have meant games are even more 1 sided now with caps never being contested.

Whilst I think Prem ships are a bit too expensive, they need far more work than a WoT vehicle to model...
