USN DDs are great still, just maintain fire discipline unless you're killing IJN DDs or close range spamming something. Smoke is still op and the torps are great from T7 onwards.

When under fire in an Atago I'll rather go full bow or full stern. Angling leaves you at risk of those massive citadel strikes, especially those crazy underwater ones...

Maybe I could have worded it better but essentially it's all the middle calibre cruisers with Atlanta and Aki on top that are the accepted IFHE benefactors. Apparently GK secondaries benefit too but it's a waste of 4 points if you ask me!

Hey I didn't need correcting! Perth and Belfast are very much in the 15xMM calibre of HE spammers. I just had the last digit as an x because the mid calibre cruisers differ slightly in calibre.

The promo video with Fail modules didn't impress me but we'll find out tomorrow for sure.

I've just reached the Schors as I want a Moskva one day (I want the Minotaur too but it's less likely WG will need Russian power). Isn't the RU cruiser meta to be a long range HE camper anyway? I'll see how long I can tolerate high tier cruiser play anyway

I hit Rank 1 in the Atago for the first time in Season 5. It's an excellent ship, one of the best tier for tier ships provided you're willing to learn and adapt. Firstly you'll need a 10 point captain. Get Priority Targeting, Expert Marksman, Superintendent then Concealment Expert. Luxury skills after then would be Adrenaline Rush, Vigilance then Demolition Expert in that order imo. Take Hydro instead of Defensive AA. You use it for DD hunting as they'll try and torp you. The Atago has low DPM but excellent concealment. The 9.1km detection is key to everything. Don't fire for the sake of it as you'll get focused to hell. Instead be observant and help your team focus fire burn BBs or lie undetected until you can get a healthy broadside on a DD. At 10km there is no reason why with practice you can't reliably hit DDs. A good Atago salvo can slap a DD for 5k+ damage, they won't stick around for the second salvo unless they're yolo. Default to HE, AP is good for broadside cruisers at closer ranges but it loses effectiveness when they angle. Unless you're experienced it's often better just to HE them. The torps really lift Atago as they are almost 360 degrees in coverage and with 10km you can area deny or spam things to death. They hit hard so even one hit is going to be nice. When I played Ranked in her I was a fairly bad Cruiser player but I learned as the Season went along. It's an expensive ship to buy granted but it's skill ceiling is one of the highest out there and is pretty rewarding when you get it right. Being a Cruiser however, you'll be punished for mistakes. Use your eyes and WASD keys always. Better to dodge and not have your own guns on target because of your jinxing.

9 15" guns would be silly as the ship would out gun Tirp and Bismarck a tier higher... I find Gnesi guns fine at 12km, that's the range where you have options of diving in or dis engaging slightly.

I'm not sure if I go with what Reddit man is saying as even a unicum isn't going to influence a 12v12 to the point of carrying often unless they're a CV. I try hard even in my best ships (no high tier BB) and many games are simply out of your hands. Your PR should remain good whether you win or lose tho. Stats checking is just confirmation bias as generally only awful players stand out enough to be checked unless you have a program that checks everyone together.

Pointless for a USN DD as you're not hitting much beyond 7km. Even if you're good, others are going to out gun you and you're better off running. Such illogical WG changes...

How so? Cleve benefits massively, especially as the BB around T6 take huge IFHE damage. The best way I can describe the buff is it makes guns around 150 mm feel like 200mm+ but with faster reload and less fire chance.

It already exists, look at my post lol Any HE spamming cruiser with calibre around 150mm will simply love it. Aki needs it to hurt DDs, Atlanta can benefit. Any large calibre 200mm+ won't benefit. The end.

I'll need to watch that video when I get home but it sounds a bit Tin Foil Hat. IFHE is for 15xMM guns that spam HE. Akizuki and maybe Atlanta. No one else really benefits. DM maybe might not feel the power as T10 BB are pretty heavily armoured.

This event has piqued my interest. Keep an eye out boys as I wouldn't bet against WG EU giving us "different" rewards or challenges. Never forget

Hood is going to be huge and lightly armoured, that isn't likely to change as that's what the ship was. I'm not a total history buff but WG are going to have to implement both of those. But we'll wait and see as soft stats can really make or break a ship. IMO WG should sell a refitted "what if" Hood and ignore the historic accuracy crowd.

Tirp is accepted as having very good armour to make up for semi weak guns. I actually think a closer comparison would be Hood vs Akagi or wherever that up coming Hull A T7 Amagi is going to be.

Poor OP... My one and only account is a story of my Ships experience, from yolo noob and beyond. Just play and not worry about it, you only answer to yourself as long as you don't sail at 20km in a BB permanently...

Maybe greatly lower the points gain and loss from kills? I'm sure WG raised those totals awhile ago...
