I agree as IFHE essentially makes any mid calibre HE into rapid fire 203mm for essentially no draw backs.

It's barely free, in fact it's very expensive when you count the time you'll need to unlock Kami!

Pretty much, 50% extra free xp at T5 sucks. Even a 200% Free XP camo at that tier isn't really worth it. I can tell you that as I use the New Year's camo a lot and the gains aren't massive.

The Camo isn't bad as it gives more free XP but I already have Anshan, Tirp Xmas camo and over 2 thousand Free Xp New Year Camo so I'll give this a miss. No doubt WG will improve their prizes after rage... It's the worst of their big collection events on the outset as the rewards are recycled and poor unless you grind for the top which is a lot of work for a T5 Ship. At least every region has it bad this time, that's a WG achievement

Apart from a few camos does it hugely matter which team you're on?! Maybe a few coins but I doubt it'll make much of a difference.

In the real world we have BB hordes doing nothing at the back of the map and games are decided by the smaller ships... Good BB are able to push and shoot anything yes but all the rest are worthless.

I haven't done the maths but if both teams are equal is it even possible to get the top reward or won't the teams cancel each other out?

Make up your own mind but with the alarming regularity in which T6 gets MM into T8 games do you really want to be the first ship spotted? Bearing in mind Fuso armour isn't great at stopping 16" shells. And higher tier ships WILL bottom fed and try to squish you first.

Kutuzov is far less flexible, had bad concealment, torps are inferior and it's less well rounded. That's my point of view however. Even with the IFHE buffs, Atago is still more than competitive. Kutuzov does the long range HE harassment job excellently and with AFT it can pretty much protect half a team from CVs.

You don't know the smoke mechanics sorry. As if you did, you would know that in smoke you can only see what others spot for you unless you have radar or hydro if you're really close to stuff. Obviously you were the leading ship who panic smoked and blinded everyone when you popped it... -

I think Strike is probably viable with Ranger as you start to get into games where almost everyone has decent AA. I really wouldn't go Strike at any tiers lower. I just don't want to get sniped out by a Hiryu player however which is why I still play 1/1/1!

Udaloi is fine... Stay 10km or more, use rudder and save the smoke to support team mates. Granted Udaloi is nothing compared to the power that is the Khaba but meh. Ogne is not a great ship when compared to other RU gunboats of around the same tier. Woe when you get T10 battles in one... OP clearly has some sort of post battle rage. Smoke has never been a magical shell repelling device. Especially with smoke cruisers, the enemy can easily saturate where you are camping. You need to consider where you are smoking and how you present yourself when under fire. -
Edit promotional video but leave other region's ones uploaded. Say everything is fine on the forum. Tell us to go spend time with our families. Say the missions are too hard when the rest of the world has exactly the same. Etc... I'll stop now in case I get canned

I'd rather it was mid tier too yes as I doubt I'll ever hit T9 in any cruiser line anytime soon. Can see why WG have done this as some may spend. Rest of us will just have to wait for 0.6.5 PT to try most of the cruisers.

You "could" argue that all's well that ends well, even with the Xmas Convoy but I'd disagree. I remember the feeling of being ripped off and it'll stay for a long time. But anyway, wait and see on this one I guess. WG said they'd listen and learn back when the Convoy was corrected.

Danae is acceptable because of the MM, you're protected and most ships are badly armoured. In T5 Emerald MM however you start facing ships with real power. There's really nothing redeeming about it, also why would anyone pay for the Permanent Green camo for it when it can likely be free XP skipped to the Leander for less. Not that I'd release my wallet for anything Emerald related... -
If I remember correctly Asia players got Kami R after the mission grind and it was assured but EU players were placed into a lottery. This understandably caused quite a storm and WG gave us Kami R too after all the requirements.

People play PT to use ships they want to grind, to test new features and finally I see some go AFK just for the rewards... I'm the first reason

I take AR before EM. As a RN Cruiser expect to have your hp halved randomly so AR offers something back for that. A 10 point RN captain is enough to rock with. Anything else is just luxury. -
Yeah I watched it, certainly looks impressive in Laboratory conditions. Maybe I'll try it on PT but I can't see it working much in an actual game.
