Atago is a weapon of beauty and power. I love mine and the only ship I really fear other than BBs is the Khaba as at 12 km one can out punch you and you'll never hit a good one. Bow or stern ranking BB is possible, you'll take red damage but not citadels so it's better than blowing up.

Kutuzov doesn't have the massive alpha of torps. Well it still has torps but not 8 a side or even 8 almost facing forward. I'll have to try Kutuzov at closer range but the concealment sucks compared to Atago.

erm, US Mediums, RU Mediums and Heavys, German TD. I plan to play to T5 and to enjoy mid tier tanks without spending money Derp Sherman, T67 and T1 for USN. T34 and KV1 for RU, Stug for German, IO Exp for Japan. That's enough to enjoy myself I think. Best equipped Tank is 105mm Sherman and it's great fun when you understand it. I'll be getting KV1 this weekend probably. A bit off topic tho!

Yes, that navigator mod is amazing. WG should add it to the game so everyone can use it, whilst it's not a simulator I doubt we should be eyeballing everything. WoT has armour pen and shell travel time mods etc

Hey, it's better to have a 60% WR than a 50% one and a better PR. (Although is that possible, with the win bonus!?) I'm saying you've got the right idea, that team work is better than personal domination. Oh next time a Public Test server is on, download it and try Khaba...

I've actually wanted RN BBs since I started but I'm a DD and Cruiser man now... They just need more finesse to play. Super sAP would be a strange RN BB trait and probably an unwelcome one if they all had it. Overpens are what gives Cruisers a chance and prevents total BB domination. Surely WG won't do that?!

A lot of things you'll only learn via your own experience. I can directly relate as I'm currently learning WoT. Replays and commentaries only show you so much but they can point you in the right direction and help things click. Gunnery comes with firing a lot of the same shell. It'll come naturally but watch every salvo when you're still learning and adjust accordingly. Torping is fairly hard with RN Cruisers as the mid tier ones (can't remember lower tier) only get a few fishes per side and single launching can be more confusing. Use the targeting lead as a guide line, look at the enemy ship and think how he's going to react and adjust your torps. It's also a skill that needs experience and luck sometimes.

So Hood gets sAP in a higher calibre? Does that mean Cruisers have another apex predator hunting them at T7? As in the Scharn wasn't enough?

It's a shame WG's XP system has no real idea on how to reward team play. I'd rather have 11 average players that work together than a gang of highly skilled solo warriors. Ranked is won via team work unless you're exceptional which let's face it; you and I are likely not. RU DD play as the close support for the spotting DD. Also the Khaba at the end of the grind at T10 really is the ultimate ship if you're a responsible player. It's the complete package, speed, guns, 10km torps, armour and even heal. Hopefully WG won't nerf before you've had a taste.

Is Hood getting monster sAP?! Alabama mk2, WG will buff BB Prems if there is enough out rage it seems.

Scharn cost me £30 last August so the price is correct, give or take the current exchange rate.

She's due to cost just under 10k doubloons. Which I'm likely not going to be paying. But I'll stop as folk will say my mentality leads to p2w and pre release buffs

WG products attract the greatest strategists from all over... WoT has similar lemming trains that drive away from objectives and get capped in minutes.

Was Aki ever an anti BB ship even pre SF nerf?! It took an absolute age to burn anything and the torps are not amazing due to needing the reload booster or the victim needing a serious phobia of WASD. I guess it's not too bad rebuilt as a pure Anti DD weapon but there's things that do that job better. Especially when you're bottom tier.

Best bit of advice is not to skip. You'll learn at the rate which you'll earn xp hopefully. I've started playing a bit of WoT and I've progressed naturally to T5 so far.

Ramming in BBs is only really viable in lower tier stuff and even then they'll need to be fairly swift. I used to do it in the Kongo before iChase thought it was cool. I guess it's viable in Dunkerque too. Once you get into higher tiers there's plenty of BB who can really nuke rammers with guns or even torps.

Olsen has a point as without IF HE a Aki will die far faster to higher tier DD and get you back to port faster. So more effective use of your time rather than prolonging the agony

In theory having AA or main guns as a choice to activate and not an aura would be good but it would result in harder camping as people would be afraid to push without air cover and their guns.

I've got a 14 point one thankfully. What do you do when Khaba shows up? Hope the player is bad and try to out gun him at close range? "What to do vs Khaba" is a question I ask myself in every T8+ ship I play

I've barely played this since the SF nerf and unlocking the Khaba... Anyone still keeping the faith?

I used Blys again recently with an old Captain build. AFT and DE. Works fine as long as you don't herp derp with aiming. The long(er) reload can really be punishing otherwise. We won easy as I was in a 2 man DD div with a Mahan. You can play off each other against the enemy. Still fun to take out now and again. Play it like a Russian imo

If you own an Atlanta and can play it well then RN plays fairly similar. I'm currently on the Edinburgh and I've manned up with radar instead of smoke. The MM and maps like Tears of the Desert butcher me but at least it'll improve with the Neptune.

The comfort you can take from being T8 is it will never get any harder. T9 is easier as you are in the strong bracket a bit more often
