BBs dominate the game in numbers which I think is what most folk are on about here. They do not dominate the game in terms of influence, that still belongs to the smaller ships and the flying diseased flat tops when folk play them.

I've got experience of both of what OP speaks of I'm "not bad" at this ships business but I'm currently an absolute WoT scrub

It looks fine aslong as you own high tier ships and roll with a prem account. I'm not paying for extra containers on principle however. The super buff flags interest me however I'd imagine a "good" weekend will strip you of them with little actual gain I still laugh at someone else who said something along the lines of "WG's solution to too many BBs=Give away a T8 one via T6 grinding"

I think the 250 flag ones got withdrawn the same time WG brought in the modules. They said something like they want to make SC special, normal WG trolling

WG make an obscene amount of money I imagine. They don't need pity or charity. I imagine we will see quite a few Hoods over the next few days even for the high price. Even with buffs its just another BB, I pity the poor souls who buy it without much BB experience...

I'd imagine only a small percentage of BB players ever go further and learn the other classes. I started out playing BBs but I'd have quit if I didn't discover how to Cruiser and DD.

Hmm quite possibly, shows how much I play the Dunker It is relevant as you get the odd insane DD that will yolo torp rush or just power through the AP.

I'm grinding both RN and RU cruisers right now as I want a Minotaur and a Moskva. With RN I roll with radar instead of camper smoke. I have to admit, the current "passive camp meta" means RU cruiser games are far more comfortable to play. Yes RN Radar Cruisers are more manly but when you have diseased maps like Tears of the Desert and Mountain Range then you are well and truly g!mped (that's hamstrung to most folk). As an RU Cruiser you can kick back, spam HE at 15km and profit...

This game "only" earned me 2146 base XP. Hard carry Shchors...

Well no, there's seldom any point loading HE to shoot DDs with as you might as well fire AP. A few overpens will still ruin a DDs day. The only time I'd load HE on purpose vs a DD is if they're the only things left on the table and its mopping up time. When a HE does hit a DD however, the effects are pretty epic

The problem is you need to play well but your team needs to suck AND you need to win as well ontop of that. As if you steamroll them no one is going to earn much...

I blame this thread on why WG have done what they've done with the Hood package. We are clearly all rich Europeans with too much money and ultra PCs. What is another £100 on a virtual ship?

His is pretty much what I'd use on all high tier USN BB. Although I do like the double float plane... He puts less premium on AFT but still takes it. Double float is arguably overkill on a BB with already excellent AA however.

Without the rest of the report it's hard to tell but it's unlikely 1 fire on a DD will do 14k damage. It's a percentage DoT, I don't think it's possible. Plus he hasn't actually landed a hit on the DD to start a fire.

WG need to re-examine their marketing bot (well they need to re-examine a lot of things in their marketing department but hey) They were better off sending me a WoT discount as I'm more likely to spend money there since I've only just started playing it. I may spend the 30% on a Cherry on Top package then wait for Hood to be discounted via doubloons one day. Either that or a 180 day Prem Time however I already have enough Prem time to last into winter...

Looks like the magic HE detonation It's rare but does happen as HE has a small splash damage which can detonate.

No idea why some choose to send PMs instead of discuss openly.... Lets spell it out. The way I see BB HE for all to see rather than via selfish PMs. I'd always start with AP loaded, you'll find the odd brain dead cruiser or DD you can shoot at or even a broadside BB. If there's no other targets and you're vs a BB who's angled I would still try to AP into their superstructure. However say if you're in a Bismarck and you're in a T10 game faced off vs Yams and GKs who know what they're doing. It's entirely viable to use HE and set them on fire as your 15" AP isn't going to do a thing vs their armour. This can also be applied for most T6 BB vs T8 German BBs too for instance. it's a judgement call that comes with experience but it's far better to do 2k to 4k damage with a very high chance of fires than to fire salvo after salvo of 0 or 1k damage AP into something. However do check after every salvo that AP isn't a better reload option. Guess I'll go to the optician now as my vision is clearly blurred.

Only thing I might spend it on is Prem time... I pretty much own every ship I want and simply have no need for doubloons anymore.

HE is valid on almost all BB in certain situations. I only exclusively use AP if I'm top tier in a MM looking down on all the peasants or in T9 or T10 BB. As said before, at longer ranges there's certainly an argument to use HE where RNG will fail you. The only real downside I can see to considering HE in a BB is that the enemy BB will go to the forums and whine that HE is op
