    Missouri - Worth it?

I own one but is it worth it? No... Then again I bought the Alabama and I've probably played both combined less than I've played Khaba. It's the fact there's too many BB in game and it reduces top tier games to camp fests. I'd rather be in a DD where I can influence the game. Missouri is a nice ship, it's just an Iowa with radar which means you can go full yolo and still potentially get something for your team
  2. T6 Ranked for the RN DD money grab I can see Gallant being OP as it has the balance of all stats needed for a Ranked DD. Decent guns, concealment and torps. IJN DDs are always meh in Ranked, some can make them work very well but they're not good team ships IMO. Farragut has poor torps and won't be able to do the same tricks as Benson, Sims or Mahan. Remains to be seen what smoke Gallant has, if it mirrors USN smoke then it simply will be OP and it'll be the Ranked go to ship. I guess I'll have to invest and slap my Belfast captain (respec'ed), get R1 again and laugh as I get a Flint which has been power crept a bit anyway

    The CV Captains Cabin

I'm totally cool with Hiryu's T6 torp bombers. It teaches you to hunt DD first anyway so gives others a chance to HE spam down bigger ships AA. I'm the opposite, I can't stand playing Strike Ranger as the RNG of the DB really p!$$es me off, its too unreliable. And no fighters means I can't protect myself or the team, I find that makes a huge difference as the enemy CV simply won't care anymore and bomb wherever they choose to which can change the course of a game. Having fighter cover makes the enemy CV think and forces him to micro his planes that bit more.

What you did with "The hunt for Bismarck" and why I hate it

Very true but of the smaller ships that are in this game, they don't seem to drum up anywhere near the interest that BBs seem to. Like I don't see that many Graff Spees floating around these days, granted it was only sold/available for grinding for a short space of time. Maybe they're two separate issues in terms of game balance and historical relevance but the casual guy is more likely to know what a battleship is over a destroyer and will probably want to play the big ship more. We'll probably never know either way, although WG did sent out an email survey awhile ago and ask people's favourite classes & why. Guess they won't share the results with us!!

Ah I see... Yeah I imagine it'll be hugely lol to play clans in CVs as almost every cruiser after mid tier can equip AA Defensive & range increases. Once the big scatter umbrella is up then you're pretty screwed. I've played a bit more CV over the last few days and it's exactly as I remember it: 75%+ of players are complete trash and a waste of time playing against but the rest are unicum/hard core CV players who run rings around me so its really difficult to get any gauge of whether I'm improving at all. Especially when you're going 2 or more games by strafing everything someone has in 1 go to being bled planes by someone who can control each squadron like it's being steered with a controller...

What you did with "The hunt for Bismarck" and why I hate it

Problem you've got is the big name early/mid 20th century naval battles involve capital ships. Which are BB or CV. I'm sure random DD skirmishes were pretty hair raising for the sailors involved but their struggles won't make the history books in the same way as something like Denmark Strait or Midway for instance. That's the line WG go down when marketing their game/promotions etc Yeah the reality is it might result in 200+ BBs in queue at any one time and lets low tier folk free skip to a T8 BB but oh well

    Not for everyone

That's why a lot of the missions really do suck... As in you need to do well individually BUT it often depends on the enemy team sucking but not "too much" and no one else on your team doing "too" well either. Usually best on Standard Battle modes as it gives the longest possible chance to farm.

    Not for everyone

The thing that makes you wonder is how you can get 125k and NOT finish top 3 on exp
  9. Seriously, those are awful suggestions.... You're asking for a massive buff to BBs. RNG and Overpens are the only thing that stops BBs becoming unstoppable 1 ship killing machines. It's the player mentality that needs to change the most.

    The CV Captains Cabin

Higher tier CV consists of spotting for half the game and getting an opportunist strike against a lone DD. Unless you want to waste a lot of planes on 1 alpha strike against a BB just to farm but that's probably the potato approach. How else do you balance it? Lower tier CV play, you're essentially a God amongst mortals as you can choose anything and kill it but it becomes a lot tighter up the tiers
  11. This probably applies to WG too
  12. That would make the problem worse as the brave BB who pushes ahead to lead a charge will get focused down and everyone else will play chicken... Cruisers are not innocent in the camping meta either although their issue is understandable due to the extreme danger that is random BB AP.

    The CV Captains Cabin

Strike Ranger drives me up the wall. I've been taken out by a mediocre enemy CV because I simply couldn't protect myself sufficiently. Of course the enemy did nothing except try to sink me but my RNG on my DB failed me Yeah its annoying how IJN get a tiny little circle that is far more reliable, why not just give USN the same thing? WG probably think it would be too OP

    Hood not worth the cash

Read the most recent Sub_Octavian Q&A. https://thedailybounce.net/2017/05/30/world-of-warships-sub_octavian-qa-asia-forum/ I quote: RE the Hood bundle. A: The rationale of selling anything is to earn money. The rationale of making staggered release is to earn more money by creating more value. As we work within free-to-play AND free-to-win model, we have to leverage on time and visuals. Staggered release is leveraging on time (faster access, quicker campaign progression) and visuals (flag and alternative camo), while giving approx. 30% discount on additional content. Now, I don’t think it’s appropriate to tell us we shouldn’t earn money. Surely we need it to keep developing and expanding World of Warships, making new content and features on monthly basis. On the other hand, if a business practice is both inefficient and badly perceived, why do it? So, if you like staggered release, buy the bundle and tell us “thanks, it’s cool”. If you don’t want it, then, don’t buy it, and tell us “hey, I don’t like it”. Simple as that. The outcome is analyzed, and then we either go on – because the considerable amount of players like it this way, or stop it – because it’s not popular and only upsets people. No need to make it over complicated, run pseudo-analysis (“you’re putting off fans” – that’s a strong assumption based on almost no data), no need to play “punish” thing – come on, guys, this is an option in premium shop. If it is not used, and everyone hates it, we’re absolutely taking it into account. I hope I was able to explain the reasoning and sorry for any possible misunderstanding. Some of the Q&A is actually quite good to read and informative however the bold stuff has actually enraged me a bit. Strong "assumption"... Clearly they don't take note of anything we say on the forum. My attitude towards WG has grown somewhat negative since the Xmas Convoy scandal, made worse by the way WG choose to "spin" it. I'd actually have respected Sub_Octavian more if he said "Look guys, I don't care if you are not going to pay £90 for a Hood as I know for a fact plenty of others out there WILL pay the money. HAHAHAH" Rather than put some sort of weird spin on things.

[Poll] Grosser kurfurst, 406 or 420

I think 420mm punches marginally harder at longer ranges. Plenty have tested them both and it might as well be a matter of taste and whether you have any sort of big gun envy or not

[Poll] Grosser kurfurst, 406 or 420

Go large or go home... I find the 420mm is more effective. Besides with the reload booster it isn't exactly slow firing. Plenty use 406mm however

    How many Captains ...

I've got a German BB captain at 19 and a USN one at 19. Now with Elite XP you might as well keep playing your best ships and build up a bank of XP to drop into other captains.

Is there any way of overcoming the dammn RNG in a Dive Bomber attack? It's a bit of an issue with DDs as the entire ship can be within the targeting circle but it'll still derp...

Do u like the BB Meta?

Folk say hunt BB which is all well and good but they have A LOT of hp. It's rare you'll kill one in 1 shot even via torpedo soup. Which is the problem as a mass of them just camp and that's 400k+ HP you're never going to whittle away quickly...

Do u like the BB Meta?

The disparity is huge, Tanks has over 100k+ at peak times where as ships manages about 1/4 of that... Tanks even needs two servers on the EU due to the demand. Tanks has been around longer anyway so it's had a chance to build up a player base. I've only just started playing it and I can see it's appeal as it retains some of the twitch reaction that a lot of online gamers want to see. Ships can be played on high ping as there's essentially no reflex actions in it. Also Tank games are far shorter, even if properly thought out they seldom go beyond 10 mins, barely 5 a lot at mid tiers. I like both anyway although I think the pro scene in both is pretty un-exciting. I watched the Grand Finals last night and really wasn't impressed although that might be as it was really one sided, one good clutch moment on Mines however. Don't worry anyway, WG are doing their best to mess up Tanks right now. Lots of anger flying around P2W T8 tanks and Gold ammo.

Do u like the BB Meta?

Oh... That's WG's own fault too then If there are few new players and current ones are disgruntled/find it stagnating then that doesn't bode well. Tanks is far far healthier and it's a lot older plus has some sort of P2W firestorm overcoming it at the moment...

Do u like the BB Meta?

WG will intensify the meta because it makes them money. Thus making this game for casual potatoes where the skilled wander off to do other things

CVs everywhere ruining the game experience - when removed?

I came for the BBs too, grinded IJN and USN to about tier 7/8 each before even touching another class... Grinded all 3 BB lines to T10 with only a fraction of Free XP. Now I pretty much only play Cruisers and DD unless I'm farming missions. Would have given up long ago if I was BB only still. BB gameplay has a shelf life, after you master awareness and how to use your guns you realise your skills are capped by RNG, concealment and being a big fat HP bubble for someone to pop.

CVs everywhere ruining the game experience - when removed?

DDs are obscure little ships for anyone who isn't a history buff. A lot of people know what BBs are and can name a few as for right or wrong big powerful warships get all the coverage. So WG gives everyone Situational Awareness, nerfs IJN DDs, gives loads of ships hydro and radar to combat that and promote more BB as the casual gamer will happily spend £100 on a mediocre BB. WG needs to promote the BB environment or their revenue dries up

Lel, have you logged in recently? Random Battles might as well be skill free Jutland fests. 5 BBs per side and hundreds in the MM queue
