I simply can't play as a CV sniper... I haven't been outright sniped at the start of a game for over a year although I have been blown up by an enemy CV's repeat attacks. It feels like the cheapest one shot trick... I prefer to punish snipers by total map control and making them feel like a baked potato. 1/1/1 is the only Ranger deck I can get along with but you have to hope your team can carry you a bit. I imagine a good Kaga can probably have a good go at a snipe or simply bombing your team out the game with lol Alpha.

I'm not doing that on principle because of what WG do with their random changes. Better off waiting for USN CVs to get buffed then resuming the grind then!

Lex is nice I've used her in PT. I'm about 100k XP from her in Ranger. Playing Ranger now is suicide, none of the 3 decks are competitive now. If you can make them work then you're likely just massively better than the opposition.

Yes, Kaga makes Hiryu's double DB look flabby and inefficient. As for Ranger, she is essentially trash now. Kaga will easily out punch Ranger and has two fighters to blunt a Strike Ranger's attempts to bomb things. Makes me a little sad as I wanted Lex one day, now it's a pointless grind as I'm stuck on Ranger...

Yeah, Hood is just another BB with silly rockets as the only outstanding feature. Scharn was discounted fairly quickly, within a few months if I remember. Hood's speed and tank aren't really selling points at all either. Will see how I feel when the time comes. -

Scharn isn't much like the Tirpitz. Scharn handles a lot better but has no bow immunity zone. It does have rapid fire, fairly low pen guns. Personally I think HE is better used at longer ranges unless someone gives you a perfect broadside. Both Tirpitz and Screen can share a captain for full secondary fun... Don't own a Hood but she's likely less exciting than Scharn.

I've got no issue with historical accuracy down to the last detail. Although I can see why there would be rage as I'm sure some marvel over the differences between Bismarck and Tirptiz in game. As long as RN BBs are competitive and WG balance the awful MM. -
In short, it'll never happen. Pretty sure it's WG's business model to encourage you to tier up. Mid tiers are meant to be slightly uncomfortable, or very if you use certain ships

I use Anshan as a long range gunboat. Taken PT instead of PM as it tells me when I should WASD. Took the turret module for better rotation and EM. Even then the turrets don't turn amazingly fast. CE might be needed for Ranked but I wouldn't throw away AFT personally. Now the debate between BFT and AR is relevant here as AR does torp reloads too. But with EM that's potentially 3 level 2 skills. Not sure how much a T6 ship will benefit from SE over the other potential picks. DE is worth it, fires are important. Currently I'm only at 11 skill points.

I think CV is badly optimised because it's literally a zoomed out version of the normal view point. The game is probably trying to render everything, quite why WG couldn't implement some sort of simple draw distance setting I don't really know

CV gameplay is an insane system hog, I get the lowest FPS when trying to CV. Frustrating since there are barely any graphics, it looks like a game from 20 years ago...

Yes, I'm actually finding my losses for Kaga TB is less than expected as you can launch from so far away. However it's not a nice ship to play vs competent people, it's definitely some sort of seal clubbing instrument as Saipan shuts you down if you make mistakes...

The love for under tiered IJN Prem BB is nice to see Mutsu is a slow burner for me,I didn't like her much at first but the overall package grows on me.

Nurn is the lol, it's the only ship in the game I've seen have it's engines nuked from being shot in the bow. Budy isn't exactly armoured either. I'd rather be in Cleve over those two as you stand a chance of surviving at least some incoming

Very few BB are truly bad. They're big armoured lumps of HP that can chop down enemy ships in sometimes a single salvo. Plus they can heal. Inherently strong.

I think Little White Mouse said it best in her review. Something along the lines that Kaga is an exaggerated IJN CV with stronger traits both ways. E.g squisher planes but epic strike ability. Unlike the Saipan which is just a random USN freak show that doesn't match any other USN CV in Strike deck.

That's me and Hood. We'll have to see how Kaga pans out as some are musing its so OP that WG might not sell it again. I disagree personally as there are plenty of bad CV players. I await the "KAGA PLS BUFF" threads

It's an interesting debate now on what's the strongest T7 CV. Hiryu, Kaga or Saipan in decent hands. Kaga has the weakest fighters, a huge ship, quirky (but good) DB and an insane torp strike ability. Hiryu is good all round with no weaknesses other than squishy T6 DB. You could say the DB are a little in-efficient but they seem to kill larger ships very well. Saipan easiest job for micro as you've only got 4 units and they're extremely fast flying and re-arming. 2x3 torp bombers means your alpha is a little low and it can also be hard to torp DDs with them. Probably has the biggest potential to control the air battle.

The sad thing is I was looking forward to RN BB for a long time, then I saw the random things that WG does to balance their game. Also I actually started playing other classes properly.
