    Fixing the Enterprise

Problem is a T8 Prem ship is very expensive, no matter how much you may earn for a living/how rich your parents are () Remember how WG had to speed buff Alabama? They said they had no plans to change the high citadel then changed it in days. Whereas they took months changing Monty and Iowa citadels. Basically money talks. Hood got continually buffed prior to release too. I can see Enterprise getting stronger as WG staff have sales targets I imagine OP chill out, WG will deliver as they want your CC this month.

    Izumo queries

Nelson won't have the same issues being T7 I don't think. Zumo isn't "bad" but I see it as bottom of the T9 BB pile. It's huge, slow, has meh AA and the guns are not so good that they over ride the issues she has. I found the secondaries on her really badly placed, like it's either main guns or secondaries. That maybe an issue with front turret'ed BBs as Dunkerque has the same issue. Iowa is supremely fast and has great AA, FdG is just strangely solid as everything with her feels acceptable to good with no real weaknesses.
  3. This is only really an issue late at night when most folk have gone to bed. At peak times you'll be unlikely to get the same game...

I thought Enterprise always looked like a bad Shokaku for players too stubborn to grind IJN...

    Rewards for ranked

You're getting ahead of yourself now... WG still have 6 months to go until the end of the year, RN BB release still to come and you forget the lols they get up to at Christmas time

    New Repair Pary

lol Russian DCP Vodka fuelled fire fighting for limited charges then your crews slump down hung over and do nothing the rest of the game

    New PVE Operations

CV is the only way to fly... In fact I'm wondering if these PvE missions are some sort of perverse WG CV tutorial They certainly help those with less experience do Manual Drops in a safe environment...

    Rewards for ranked

NOT special upgrades... WoT is doing that with "Bonds" that you can only earn in Ranked. These upgrades are simply better than the ones you buy for credits. Making the strong, stronger... Plus their Ranked is currently T10, I lol

    World of tanks

I posted this for another WoT noob on their forum. " I've personally decided to stay at T5 until I train crews to 6th sense and understand the game properly. I recommend you have a target tier and do the same for now. Tanks only perform when crews are 100% trained for that tank, hence why I say stay at a tier for a bit. You can spend gold or wait for a discount weekend, they do come fairly often. As for T5 tanks I have a KV1, KV1S, T1 Heavy, OI Exp, BDR, M4, T34, Pz4 H, T67 and a StuG III. You shouldn't need to spend any money on garage slot to get a good spread of tanks to suit your mood and find your play style. Out of that, I like the KV1 and KV1s, OI Exp, M4 and T67 the most. Plenty of opinions of tanks out there to make up your own mind. I installed XVM mods, sad but it really help to know who on your team is good, bad or just learning. Often pays to follow the better stats players as they will have some idea of what they are doing until you learn the maps and tanks. Premium time is helpful for extra XP and credits. I wouldn't buy credits or a lot of gold at this stage or free XP anything. You need to learn and not skip things. Only "invest" in Premium Tanks of a tier where you are already at and preferably one where you can double up your crews. They only train crews of the same class and nation. Do your research before buying. Ignore at your peril but don't and blow money on a high tier big tank. At least not for a few thousand games. My general tips would be: LEARN CONCEALMENT but in short. If you can see through a bush/tree then you will be seen when firing. If you cannot see through it then chances are it may mask your location when firing. This is not 100% either way and there's a lot more to it but it's a start. Get the hell out of the open!! Unless you like being hit by about 5 different enemies and melting instantly. Almost never go over hills, go around them. As when you go over there is a huge gap where you are defenceless. However if someone is mad enough to do it to you then shoot something into their underside. Don't rush in, no reward for being the one to make first contact. Watch how the battle unfolds, you have time to ponder and re-position. Further from that, save your HP. Don't throw it away at the start, especially in a Heavy Tank as it'll pay for itself later on vs lots of low HP enemies. Don't peak round corners if you know 100% something is there aiming at you. A 1 for 1 shot is seldom worth trading unless they're low HP and you can knock them out the game maybe, but even then you don't know who else is camping and waiting to shoot you. You'll soon learn that maps are actually more tactical than a set of random hills and walls, there are definite no go places and places to contest. As for different tank classes: Light Tanks: Probably not for someone new, you have to spot and be there for your team. Which can be very hard if you don't get the game and don't have 6th sense. I would avoid them after the research starts to split into different classes. SPG: No idea, I don't play them yet. BUT in SPG/Arty games be careful of camping on the front line if you know you can be seen. Artys love bullying tanks that don't make an effort to dodge. TD: Stay AWAY from the front line (yes there are super heavy TD like the AT2 but you won't be in one for awhile). They tend to be very weak on armour, have no turret or a very slow moving one. You want your team between you and the enemy, and you want a bit of space between your team and you. Basically you snipe from the second line. Never lead a charge as it'll end badly. Heavy Tanks: You generally want to be in urban areas if given the choice. Open fields will get you killed by either TDs or nuked by Arty. If your HT has good armour then learn how to side scrape, beware a lot of players use gold ammo or are in tanks that laugh at your angling attempts. You also want to be closer to stuff as most HT are very in accurate at long range. There are exceptions however. Mediums: You support where your team is going. Let Heavies take the pain but try and shoot what they get the attention of. A lot are fast enough to flank when the HTs are fighting. Again there are exceptions, some lower/mid tier Mediums have very tough armour and are more like Heavies. I also say read the WG Wiki page for a a brief synopsis of each vehicle you might want to research. I use VBAddict.net to recommend me the best tank equipment modules. It has both average player choices and unicum choices so you can make informed decisions." Feel free to add anything I haven't talked about!

    Atlanta

I take it too since I tried to use it in the last season of ranked (failed too lol) It's viable to take Defensive Fire these days as there are so many Kagas etc around

    katori availability

Meh, was winnable in an event last year. You're really not missing a huge amount. It's slow, has good guns for its tier and zero armour. If you owned one you'd probably play it about 3 times and wonder what the fuss is about. Install one of the mods that lets you view ships you don't own and are not in the tech tree in your port in full colour. That is most of the experience!

    The CV Captains Cabin

My main reason is if someone can be sniped then they can also be strangled to death via taking out their team and denying them their own bombing runs. Besides I need the practice on bombing and fighter strafing.

    Atlanta

It's very expensive for a gimmicky ship. It is fun but it might depend how deep your wallet is. On that map where you manage to brawl and your AA kills 30 planes then it's good fun.

    The CV Captains Cabin

Yes with the amount of Saipan and Kaga in game, no way is a Strike Ranger carrying off a snipe unless the Prem CV player dribbles at the mouth... I have to try sniping in a Kaga. I find sniping too time consuming, I'd rather bomb something closer and let my DDs break through to harass the CV. I can't see situations where sniping is better than bombing two ships on the front line. You have a far bigger impact than an all nothing snipe that takes a lot of time. If I'm missing something please elaborate but I see CVs as the ultimate team player ship.

    Kaga Captain skills. :)

That silly comic strip with the dog chilling out inside a burning house and saying "This is fine.."
  16. Scharn and Hood perform fine undergunned for their tiers and vs what they might face in the MM. I think we're going round in circles now. I'd like to see 14" as main KGV guns as other BBs in this game show they can be tweaked to be under gunned but not weak. Still I don't think WG will listen to either of us as looks like they are having 15" in the historical turrets but labelled as 14". Russia trolls all

    Tier progression

I find the XP needed for T9 onwards a bit too much but that might be due to having experience with most lines now and not wanting to grind anymore. Thing is make grinding too long and it'll put off the casuals which WG needs to keep their game going.
  18. Without looking at soft stats you have no way of knowing if 3x3 15" will out perform 4x2 and 1x2 14"... Shells and guns can be tweaked with normalisation angles, fuse times, sigma, dispersion etc...
  19. Why would a KGV with 14" be an underdog in T8+ games if it was balanced with accuracy, good reloads and maybe decent fire chance and secondaries on top?
  20. Why wouldn't it be balanced? When i play Tirp and Bis in T10 games I fire more HE than I'd do normally. I'd even argue 14" or 15" would make little difference when shooting an angled T10 BB as you should be trying to burn him if you've got no better targets. You are basically asking WG to milk us for cash by having a mutant tech tree KGV class and making us pay for a historical ship. Anyone would think it's August 2016 again
  21. Yes but if there's the wish to keep a historical 14" gun then there's no reason why they can't be tweaked to fit since the Scharn performs so well. It might force poor skill BB players to learn about their guns properly but that's not a bad thing.
  22. I thought this got a bit off topic but now I think of it, why can't KGV just model what WG did with the Scharn with regards to the guns? 14" guns which reward tactical switches between AP and HE. The reload is already buffed and unhistorical, maybe give KGV the T9 reload module too? Accurate 14" guns, good reload times and a strong secondary/AA suite would make KGV an interesting T8 BB. Would not being able to match a cruiser's bow make a huge difference in most games? Besides, 15" guns have issues penetrating higher tier BB anyway.
  23. Folk are always sceptical about Scharn HE but that's because no one considers that you should be bringing friends. Between your own HE spam and that of your cruisers, most BB should be fairly crispy. You shouldn't be front line vs T9 BBs anyway, as support you should be able to do a fair bit of damage without being blown to bits by higher calibre AP. Scharn has decent belt armour...
  24. Pepper Iowas with HE... If they dare get close and broadside then AP them. It's manageable but obviously not ideal as you're two tiers down.
  25. It's either this current solution or WG milks us for a "historical" Prem ship and has a mutant Tech Tree one... I think my wallet knows which solution is preferable
