Did this to a DD just now in Ranked... Most of the damage was caused in two penetrating hits, and the DD was NOT detonated either...

Saipan is a very easy CV to use, only 4 strike groups and only one type of plane per deck that can actually attack ships. And all the planes are really fast at T7 so you can just run away from stuff you don't feel like fighting dog fights with. I learned quite a bit about CVs by playing Saipan. Only weakness is the Strike setup is abit crap vs DDs as you only get 3 torps that spread pretty wide.

North goes A on both maps, South team goes B on both maps... Have spotters and fight it out etc

Guys, what's on here is far better than WoT where they are only selling T8 with money off (their MM puts T8 bottom tier vs T10 stuff all the time). There is one T3 rare tank on sale but you have to buy it as part of a £90+ package with loads of gold looooooooooooool

Na, there is no Strike package without any fighters on Saipan. Too sensible a ship for him...

50% off Saipan is actually very good. Folk will whine that she's OP and WG have done little to address CV issues with controls and balance... I enjoy mine although I bought a long time ago.

I really want the Conqueror to keep 2x4 18" guns. So that it resembles a giant T10 Warspite style BB. The changes are so MEH Even better as others have said, give people the option...

The Smith grind should really be utterly painless. I doubt it's a ship anyone is going to play more than a handful of times. I've probably played my Miksas, Katori and Emdem reward ships under 10 times combined. Shame about the RU BB if it's not coming via a mission. I'll have to stay strong and keep my CC hidden if it's sold as I doubt I'll play it much either, I've barely used the Okhotnik...

Meh. It's not a huge amount of money but the changes didn't really make any sense to me. I know better now anyway from this and the RU DD changes (lost somewhere in the region of 75k Free XP when Udaloi got slapped down to Hull A). I'm a lot more careful with my spending now...

There is some serious salt here... Looking at it from a BBs perspective, they are slow, fat, have sucky concealment and long reloads. DDs are still the key to winning any ranked game. Camping BB who don't use their HP are a huge problem yes. I see a lot of Fuso do this. The only way to do BB right in Ranked is to get Dreadnaught and High Calibre...

Maybe, but I didn't consider Aki particularly OP when she was released. I invested in the camo as the ship seems interesting to play. I've come to my own answers anyway, as in I simply won't buy Permanent camo anymore under any circumstances. WG could refund in doubloons so you'll spend them anyway. Maybe this isn't such a big deal but WG don't do themselves many favours in Tanks or Ships recently. Yeah but the ship has undergone some pretty big changes and as a result Aki isn't what I grinded to. At least when lines split WG gave compensation but they didn't do anything for the SF changes.

Satire or not, WG should really offer a refund on Permanent camo for Tech Tree ships they change. I'm still pretty salty from Aki being messed around with and I'll never buy another camo again because of it.

I was going to suggest the bottom of the winning team doesn't get a star but that's unfair too as you can play CV and come bottom even if your APM is through the roof and you've spotted over 100k of damage and kept your team safe...

Not sure which out of T7 and T8 Ranked I preferred. Maybe T8 as I used a Cruiser that could actually kill things as in T7 I won with a DD, basically you have to play as a passive spotter a lot of the time but it's utterly vital...

Ranked is a game mode that's centered around DDs. I doubt this will ever change either. Their spotting potential and smoking ability makes them 100% vital to any game. Find me a Ranked game where one side loses all their DDs in the first few minutes (non CV games that is) but they go on to win. I'll wager you won't find many. Camping BBs may potentially get good XP but they are powerless to actually win a Ranked game without decent DDs.

That's still possible. Play late at night and hope you all match together to stack up on the same team

WG claim this month but something tells me it's optimistic as the Conqueror has supposedly been tweaked pretty significantly with 3x4 rather than 2x8 according to ST leaks which is quite a change. I always thought GamesCom in Aug was when they'd arrive...

Depends how much Warspite you've played maybe, all BB guns over pen like crazy at closer ranges. I don't find it a huge issue since there are not that many cruisers and most of them have awful concealment so they have to ruin the long range lol gauntlet anyway. Can definitely see an argument for 356mm/14" as you get the benefit of 12 dice rolls rather than Warspite's 8 even if they're less accurate. The extra dispersion can help with a better shotgun spread.

This is a "normal" Ranked season. Dubious players everywhere, some very poor tactical decisions, land slide wins, raging about top loser not losing a star. etc etc

That's because of the landslide meta. If your DDs suck then it's pretty much GG most of the time as you lose your Primary smokers and spotters. The rest of the team will usually follow.
