I only ever play Operations as the Ryujo, that way I take as much of it into my own hands. At least in Random you can farm and crush the potatoes, I used to try for 5 Stars in Operations but that got too frustrating as a T6 CV only has so many strike groups!

Vanguard as T8 is logical. I hope... Can't see it at T9 as it's firepower is probably lacking. As long as it's released in an authentic and not mutant form!

Operations are a fail addition. I simply play them for 4 Stars and the Captains... Teamwork is beyond a lot of folk which I'm fine with in Random Battles as they can be played around but scenarios need co operation unless you play as hard carry CV.

This discussion is probably over for now since WG seem to want Stealth Battleships. Soon we can all enjoy stealth Monarchs, Lions and Conquerors... The BB Apocalypse is almost here

Leander onwards, RN Cruisers are excellent. I play full daredevil style on my Edinburgh with Radar instead of smoke, you can get obscene 80k+ damage games (where a good chunk of that is DD HP) and really influence how a game goes. Skip Emerald if you have free XP, it's utterly dire. If Nelson is 400k Free XP I'll likely help myself to one as I'm sitting on 750k and bought Missouri at the start of the year already... I'd agree RN BB could be pretty powerful. Good heals and stealth lol characteristics make a mockery of Cruisers who already have it bad. Oh and there is nothing wrong with BB using HE. Ranked teaches you to use both and pick your targets. Although in Random Battles there is almost always someone you can throw AP at.

I'm pretty bad at torping but forcing myself through multiple Ranked seasons means I'm ok with them now. Problem with most DD is that their launch patterns are so inflexible. If you've only got 2 launchers then you best hope your predictions are good. Single launching allows so much more coverage and the simple ability of being able to wait before firing more torps whilst the others are mid flow. If RN DD ever make it into a tech tree they could be extremely powerful. Something around the ability of a Fletcher with single launch torps would be crazy and completely push out IJN as torp boats...

I really like my FdG. I prefer it over my Missouri for some reason. And yes, the German H designs were all basically upscaled Bismarck type ships. FdG was the smallest of those designs, hence why I said Conqueror's layout makes more sense as a German in terms of their design philosophy.

Yeah they were always going to charge money for the Hood but it's the nature of the time staggered bundles that annoyed me into not buying it until discounted. It's one thing being loose with history. It's another thing going for a lazy money grab. For awhile it looked like Nelson was T7 which is entirely sensible bearing in mind Colorado and Nagato are similar Inter war ships. But WG changed their minds and crap horned a mutant KGV to plug a gap whilst they turned Nelson Gold. And no I don't buy what WG are saying about how Nelson's play style might put people off. Plenty have grinded out the Izumo or played tech tree freaks like the Yorck or Akizuki.

That's WG for you. They do what they want rather than pleasing historical accuracy folk. As long as RN BB are competitive then I'll be happy. Other than when WG pull blatant money grabs but that's why I haven't bought the Hood even tho I'll probably enjoy it.

Albert is fine but when you own a Nikolai there isn't much point... Also Albert and Nikolai to an extent are pretty dull to play. They're slow and don't really have much gameplay other than angling and shooting as you'll see very few CVs and torp DDs are not as deadly.

I'm fine with the Conqueror even if it's almost completely fantasy. Looks like a gigantic Warspite. Although I've thought the GK could have fitted more as an RN BB with the 4x2 Conqueror as the German effort as I think all the H designs were 8 gun...

Monarch is just laziness. WG not wanting to model another ship for T8. Really isn't any reason why a Lion class or Vanguard shouldn't be at T8 with more paper at T9 and T10...

Well WG are selling high tier RN BB as stealth vessels. Guess they're not changing anything and we can continue to nuke cruisers from mid ranges...

Rolling with Prem is arguably mandatory to save you time higher up. It isn't hugely expensive and pretty fair for the extra gains.

The CV rework is complete don't you know? WG charge folk £45 for a T8 CV with a clear conscience...

Guys if you are salty about no doubloon sale then don't buy anything. WG consistently treat us with contempt so don't be generous. Instead laugh at WoT having a £100 30k gold bundle with a rare T3 tank given for "free"

I bought Duca for cheap but I've literally played one game in her and I'll need to train a whole new captain. Like you I don't feel like doing that again for double the price. Plus isn't Perth just a Leander with HE and crazy smoke?

In Random Battles they're often dead within minutes or not doing their job... DD play is so bad generally that I forced myself to play them awhile ago and can bask in the rewards of multiple Ranked season wins. Some interesting discussion on BB concealment. No quick answers I guess other than WG are 'monitoring' the situstion... I will say though I stupidly didn't spec CE for my Yam or GK and I've had quite a few games in both that were unplayable as I spawned in the wrong place and simply couldn't withdraw to my team without being a crispy HE BBQ.

A fast knife fighting DD like the Sims with RPF simply makes any lone flanking DD redundant. You have all the keys to all the doors and they're best off heading back to their own fleet.

I have to agree with Shaka here. If you're playing a DD in Ranked and your objective is to slay other DD then you basically need RPF. Yes good players know where the enemy is anyway but the extra precision of RPF does help. Remember even at the Premier League we are not always playing unicum players. The amount of DD I've killed over the 2 seasons because I've hunted them down with RPF is pretty numerous. Like when they try to run then hide in smoke, they'll try to torp and it'll fail since you can adapt to their position. I imagine RPF with Lo Yang in a T8 season would be pretty strong.

I'm finding the higher tier RU HE spammers are better for rudder than concealment as they fire quite a lot and you don't engage at ranges less than about 12km much anyway... Unless you are going for a DD radar hunt.
