FP if you can spare it after CE and AFT maybe if you're a USN BB player and want that sweet 7km+ AA umbrella. I never liked FP until I played BB in the last season of Ranked. Your ability to tank damage really goes up after you cut the two central fire positions to one. With FP it is rare you'll be ignited more than once and you still have DCP plus heal for when you need to stamp out the fires. HA and JoAT both are cool down consumables. FP works all the time...

Don't get me wrong as I've used both HE and AP on BBs. Unless you're facing loads of evasive or heavily armoured targets then you might as well roll the RNG AP dice. However in Ranked with Fuso last season I used HE until I got in close or late game where everyone had low HP. I guess Nelson may force players into changing ammo more often...

I could buy it straight away... However I will await reviews yes as I don't want to play a HE spamming 16" BB with poor AP. Whilst I do just HE, AP should be a BBs main stay...

Add the blood&sweat grinding to T9 too it's a pretty fair price in terms of Free XP yeah. Whether folk agree with WG's economic model however...

Is that including all the ships beneath it? As that's how WG justified Missouri costing so much.

The price tag is fine for me. I've already accumulated another Mussouri's worth of Free XP after getting one. I really hope that's a worldwide price but even WG won't screw us that hard right?

I'll miss that guy... His videos were always worth lulz and he taught me to man up and use Radar with RN Cruisers instead of being a smoke coward.

You mean like that patch a few months back where they nuked support for Windows XP so all those Russian calculator PCs will be forced into playing WoWS Blitz or something?

That went along time ago, same in WoT... So many Prem vehicles are simply better now.

Atleast I'm aware of it... Eventually annoy enough customers and they're going to be put off. WG feel like a very modern company, in that their customers are gutter trash cash cow idiots. They have the whole world to farm and will simply find others who want to type their CC details into the Premium Shop instead of pleasing and creating a loyal fanbase. Most of the big games companies do this nowadays... You could say the WG EU staff are WG's attempt at creating some sort of community spirit but sometimes I think they're better off without them sticking their oar into debates as it's often made things worse in the past...

Problem is NA has far less players for Tanks and Ships... Although if WG carries like on like this then maybe not for too long!!

Hmmm yeah I just saw that as it looks like a WW2 configuration. Just in time for the OP Yamamoto captain, I see what WG have done there. Unfortunately I own A LOT of BB already, the last BB I blew money on was the Alabama which I've played under 25 games with. Kii at T8 is going to cost a similar amount (£40+). Will probably give it a miss as I consider T8 Prem ships to be a bit too expensive...

I actually quite like this game. But since the Xmas Convoy cr@p and all the other EU scr3wing I've become very careful with what I spend. Essentially I only keep myself topped up with Prem time and I'll only buy ships I really want and know I'll play. I deliberately didn't buy Hood because of the rip off time locked £100 bundle or however much it costs. I also started playing WoT earlier this year but deliberately researched a suite of the best vehicles and set out to make it a low cost game. If WG were actually fairer to their customers I wouldn't be looking to keep my disposable income from going to them...

Meh I've stopped caring about what other regions give as promotions. Much like how I never listen to what WG EU staff say in any of their interviews/streams etc Only lies, muddled truths and annoyance awaits those who care about those things.

I actually think this is a bad idea, torp hits are rare enough as it is. Sometimes hitting a smaller ship that is screening the BB completely by accident is part of torpedo'ing fun...

The thing I'm wondering is how they'll explain all the various national voices. As the WG release says the DDs are literally represented by nations from all over Asia but will be under one branch. As in that Lo Yang captain will fit into the various botes without retraining. I wish being a captain of different boats instantly made me able to speak different languages... Unless WG are going to be lazy and make the entire tree speak Chinese Mandarin!!

They "can" share captains but they're different sorts of DD if you ask me. Would be less effective if you used one captain for both and it also would depend if its a captain for random battles or more competitive modes.

Maybe this will get moved to the DD section or merged with something but there's no current topic for Ranked so here goes... I hit Rank 1 earlier for the 3rd time and I'll be enjoying the Flint when the WG minions manually input it into my account. This season is no different from the other 2 I've ranked out in. Strangely I needed exactly 312 games this season and last Simply put I feel Ranked is essentially a game about Destroyers, everyone else is secondary. If your own DD suck or die early it's pretty much a loss... I set out this season with every intention of hitting R1 in a BB and picked Warspite for the job. She took me to R5 but stalled, essentially I couldn't do enough to reliably support my DDs in their capping/spotting the enemy meta. It was exactly the same as the seasons before where I tried to take Bismarck and Scharnhorst to Rank 1. Simply put, if 2 or 3 of a team of 7 are DDs then you can do FAR more to influence the course of a game if you decide to be one of those Destroyers. A DD with good concealment simply spots for the team, lays smoke for the bigger ships (that deserve it) and throws torpedoes into enemy smoke. Three things I see enemy DD fail at time and time again: 1) Shooting too much, a DD firing it's guns when in range of enemy ships is quite often a death sentence. You are better off turning and running whilst their DD gets lit up on gun bloom. The amount of DDs I have baited into firing their guns whilst my side is waiting to shoot them is probably quite a few across Seasons 6 and 7. 2) Sitting in smoke, again the amount of people who eat torps within smoke at every level is staggering. Often it's the fault of the DD as you really need to know where to lay it, if smoke is deployed badly you place your own team at huge risk. 3) DDs that go solo to cap/spot. You are basically taking the prospects of 6 other players into your own hands. Yes there are times where a solo DD can work wonders and carry games but most of the time you are far better off smoking for your own team, keeping them safe from the enemy flanker DDs and generally acting as a spotting/screen between them and the enemy. It is not a glamorous job but it wins games. A DD with RPF and CE will be able to protect their team from almost all prospecting flankers and make their lives a hell of a lot easier. Now last week I had stalled with BBs and was looking up at the Gallant's stats. The reviews said it basically functioned as a sort of USN/IJN hybrid. It had a concealment of 6km with captain skills, 8km torps that are very usable (if deployed well in single launch you can basically guarantee a BB at about 7km is going to be eating something). The guns on it function much like USN ones which is perfect for fleet defence as you play defensive and only fire when something is coming into close range. So I bought a Gallant, much to my surprise I was able to put the 19 point Dunkirk captain in it, essentially giving me a fully powered up Destroyer. Bearing in mind I hit R1 in a Sims last season I fully understood the DD fleet defence method of play and flew to R1 from R5 in 34 games with a 68% WR. Part of me feels dirty as hell as it's basically Pay 2 Win.I would imagine WG fully intended on this too. I would have likely hit R1 anyway as I'd have just retrained my Belfast or Warspite captain for the Gallant but meh... Regarding other ships I've used I found the following: Warspite: Excellent guns that can use AP all the time, squishy as hell and takes a tonne of HE damage due to lots of bad superstructure. Fuso: Probably the best for the Ranked meta. You need to switch between HE and AP a lot but until the DDs are all dead you can safely spam HE at everyone. The accuracy is not an issue, the shotgun spread of 12 guns is actually pretty effective as RNG can give you gifts. Also has almost no superstructure and is very resistant to HE. Does get torped pretty easy if you try to push as the ship is so dammn long. Farragut: Lacks decent long range torps, feels big and fat, also has awful concealment. I couldn't get her to work this season. Sinonome: Guns rotate and fire way too slow for my favoured role of fleet defence, also the length of the ship seems to lend you to being hit and eating torps more than other DDs I've played. What are your thoughts on this season?

First Jolly Roger is instant as it's a R1 reward. Seasons after need the reward credited manually...

Yes, totally agree. People are afraid to admit it but some are simply not good enough. From my experience, the only way to hit R1 is to hard carry, if you die early or do something stupid then the affect is amplified, likewise if you are doing well then it will show in your progress. Granted there are a percentage of battles that cannot be won even if you are the ultimate professional gamer but those automatic losses do not stop you making progress as much as some want to think.

Maybe it'll be split like how the two Pan Asian DDs are like now? As in lower tier RU (Anshan) and higher tier USN (Lo Yang). Not that excited about it but I can see why WG are doing it as there's a pretty big Asian fanbase out there, likewise with the up coming WoT Chinese TD line that I doubt anyone in EU cares about
