Whilst change maybe needed, the thing I keep going back to is why? There's other things that are more urgent (BB POPULATION and CVs). We all know WG's staff are not an infinite resource so why have they chosen to pump time and effort into hitting smokes and detection?- 59 replies

I'm wondering how close Flamu is to getting Foch'ed. Although he is nowhere near as offensive as that Tanker guy... Then again, WG wouldn't dare. Would they? -
So DD divisions are bad and I don't think there is anything we can do about it.

Possibly, although if both those DDs can do their job together effectively it's still a massive positive for the rest of the team as you'll definitely win 1 out of the 3/4 caps then your team has a fighting platform from there rather than being straight capped. I know what you mean though as if there is a double DD div on Tears of the Desert Domination and they spawn together then it's LOL time... -
Gnesi may have accuracy issues and you likely have to reveal more broadside to get all 6 of your 15" guns off (yeah that's 6 guns at a lower calibre than Nelson's nine bigger barrels). Also Gnesi has a soft nose like other T7 BB so that Tirpitz style bow tanking fun won't work here. Looking at the armour pattern of Nelson, it's still a big chunky BB that will absorb a lot of damage, nothing like RN Cruisers like the Neptune for instance that melts instantly at the sight of a red coloured ship. Besides being a bit bad at killing other BBs actually helps a team as it encourages potatoes to hack away at smaller ships which they should do anyway and kill BBs last. Reviews are already out, although I guess you'll see a lot of opinions tomorrow morning!

I think the problem you're talking about is that DDs need a lot more ability to play even to an average degree than the more "popular" class. If your team has two or even one DD who doesn't cap and spot but the other team does then you're basically looking at a loss. I think WG have tried to rectify this by giving stuff radar and other goodies instead of making DDs more playable or teaching people how to use them other than being facerolled a few hundred times which is how I think I learnt! -
Any point in keeping the Iowa when you have the Missouri?

There are a few tiny differences such as a difference between their AA bubbles but both will shred planes at equal rates. Also I think the armour of Missouri is slightly thicker but in reality it makes no difference. Don't forget Missouri loses that float plane. Sell Iowa and save the port slot for something like RN BB -

Just like any other Divs, there are good ones and bad ones. Granted bad DDs will lose you the game where as a few BB potatoes camping together at the rear will actually manage to kill something every now and again. -

So basically instead of "blinking" ships, WG would rather smaller ship have "DO NOT FIRE UNLESS FOR SELF DEFENCE" written on their guns and for them to cruise around passively spotting for the fatties...

Well it is WG we're talking about lol LittleWhiteMouse's review suggested fire is a bit of a problem for Nelson as she is vulnerable to torps too so will take fairly brutal DoT damage if you're not careful... WG do need to be a bit more informative however, as I'm sure 75%+ of players do not watch YouTube or trawl forums for information as they're very casual gamers.

Yeah at this stage I'd say very few of us care about possible historical inaccuracies for something that never existed outside of blueprints and plastic models for post WW2 enthusiasts. Three forward facing turrets would give Izumo a great T9 selling point as you could utilise her strong armour that bit better. She's the biggest and slowest of the T9 BBs and has no firepower advantages in main guns, secondaries and has relatively weak AA.

AFAIK the NDA release reviews all point towards SuperHeal, albeit Nelson has minus 1 charge compared to normal BBs... Lion seems to have SuperHeal AND full charges, she's pretty awesome from my testing in PT.

I was sitting on about 700k a few weeks ago then I started to dip into those crazy superbuff™ flags with stuff like 777% Free XP. Some weekend doubles and good fortune has given me something north of 800k now and I bought modules for both Russian T9 DM and Neptune so I probably accumulated shedloads. Those flags are pretty amazing when stacked...

I am defending WG way too much on this thread... But their community facing guys cover WoT and probably WoP with other stuff piled on top as well as Ships. They are likely genuinely busy a lot of the time. I've stopped watching/paying attention to WG interviews as I'd rather wait and see instead of being disappointed prior to then That WG Ship designer that said some obscure Russian BB had the greatest history out of any Battleship ever made me snigger however, I think all It did was fire at Germans from various parked up positions in port. Then again there's a bit of national bias in everyone -

Because Cruisers are so squishy to long range BB AP, it doesn't take even potatoes to work this out so they all default to targeting YOU then when one gets the Devastating Strike it reinforces this and they keep doing it etc Simple conditioning lol... Maps really need to change. Mountain Range in Ranked was especially painful from memory, all that bull$$$$ juking around that middle island between A and B in my Atago... Don't remind me please Still, Nelson is coming tomorrow so we should all shut up, convert doubloons into Free XP then click and enjoy -
The rules for the Nelson competition only said doubloons plus port slot if you already own the ship. No mention of specific treatment for the Nelson. Not that I'm going to win it anyway but I might try. Who knows, I might get home from work, say F it and click the BUY button since I could afford two Nelsons out of the bank of Free XP I have...

If it's anything like the Missouri then you have to "research" it with Free XP and it unlocks for you. Then you pay a nominal amount of credits to "buy" it. The start of this video will explain it

A few A140 design plans have all 3 turrets facing forward so WG could have used either configuration perhaps.

The competition site says doubling value for ships we already have. What of the Nelson as it'll doubloon value is probably lower than 375k Free XP...

To be fair on the WG staff who actually post here, they're caught in the middle and likely have no influence in how the game progresses other than giving some feed back to the developers. Some who play the game enough may likely agree with the common opinion here but they'll never be able to voice it. -
What containers did you pick to get the items? Also if there are 40 in total then it's going to be a long time collecting. Hope WG mean it when they say it isn't time locked!

I actually don't understand this collection... Do I have to spend my $$$? From what I can see, I have to wait and finish the Yam campaign and the collection will be released to me? Which won't be for awhile. Or buy and start now?
