I learned how to survive in T10 games with the Tirpitz. Probably not ideal as my Tirp stats are still recovering to this day!! Thing is if you can cope with T10 MM in a T8 ship then you are pretty much capable of dealing with anything Random Battles can throw at you.

It's just a bit strange how Hood is way better armoured than Nelson which is meant to be a full fat BB. I guess Nelson tanks via healing rather than armour. There are a few ships now that feel Kongo like now. Fast BB power creep! Dunkerque and Gnesi are like-minded ships in my eyes. Now if only WG will make a proper T6 Kongo...

If it's money you want then you still want to pick a ship you're actually going to want to play a lot. Best earnings currently are just to do the weekly missions. The 4th out of the 5 mission sets are almost always 1 million credit rewards and they're usually achievable for most players. Good that you know of WG's business practices. Act accordingly

I'd love to try Hood one day as I thought that whole staggered release thing was a crock. I'll only buy for discounted Doubloons... Is her sheer size a problem? Hood is HUGE for her actual armament.

T8 ships are arguably very overpriced. £40+ for a single ship means you really need to play the guns off it to feel like you have got your money's worth. T6 is probably the best value for the ship you'll get. Sales can be any time but usually GamesCom, WG's birthday (think it's April, not 100%), Christmas and the Summer Sale in July. WG put themselves in a situation as it's always worth seeing how much of a discount has been given on a ship in the past. Wait long enough and they'll likely match it one day. Some T6 stuff was 50% off during the Summer and I think T8s were 30% off for one day. I really want a Lowe in WoT but I've seen it for 30% off and I'm more than happy to wait it out. Of course it's your money but consider looking up how WG treats it's customers, including the most recent Graff Zeppelin scandal. It's worth being a bit smart with your hard earned money.

WG buffed German Secondary range recently. I haven't even noticed the lowered fire chance and rate of fire (if that was even nerfed). All you need is AFT and Manual Secondaries. Don't waste points on DE or IFHE. Get Adrenaline Rush however and watch the DPM rise to lulz levels in long brawls. I've got a 19 point KM Captain which I farm Elite XP with in various BBs.

Alabama is a very expensive North Carolina. Does almost exactly the same thing except it's a bit smaller and has an OP torpedo belt. You can laugh off CV torps as they'll do about 4k damage to you if the CV is desperate enough to bomb you. If you play up to a North Carolina and Bismarck you'll essentially know 80%+ of what having a Alabama and Tirpitz is like. Personally I say get a Prem acc and play the game. Wait until the next sale before buying or watch YouTube&read reviews (LittleWhiteMouses reviews are probably the best written ones you'll find). And always get multiple opinions.

I haven't taken many big ones in my Nelson but I've citadel'ed others. It's amusing how completely inadequate Nelson is at dealing with her own 16" guns. It's like I keep saying, AP on Nelson and cut the cr@p out of that heal as it's only effective vs HE spam.

If folk don't want to use LS then let them. Killing a dead in the water DD is always a bonus. SI and tanking ability is pointless when you're motionless in the water. Still it's your ship and not mine.

Hmm yes in a higher tier game you basically have to yolo into the action or get left behind. It's a typical slow BB in that a bad choice or spawn basically dooms you to failure. I've used the superheal many times although I imagine folk will learn to fire AP at the Nelson which greatly reduces the healing ability. Hood has similarly bad pen vs BB?! Urgh and I was going to buy it at some stage. Although it is fast, the sheer size of it is a little off putting.

No ship should ever be fighting enemies from multiple directions. It's just that some botes punish you harder for it. You have be really cautious in the Nelson as your tanking ability is your healing. If you over extend you get obliterated. I really enjoy Nelson as it's just different to play compared to other BBs. Appalling AA is a bit of an issue but other than Gnesi and maybe a specced Colo all the T7 BB are bad at shooting down flying diseases.

I think he means some sort of doubloon package. Something like the Cherry on Top is actually extremely good value if you want a doubloon discounted ship I think...

Saw multiple R1 folk in a single PvE. I was too ashamed to say anything in there And yes I tried to grind the 150k damage final mission last week but I kept falling short whether in Random Battle or Comp Stomps. Annoyingly I achieved it just now in a Nelson after that mission week finished...

Well AP only is viable I guess... BUT I was top tier and the most armoured thing on the other team was a Scharnhorst who ate a tasty 18k in a single salvo. Will say here again, do NOT HE spam an enemy Nelson. You are far far far better off using AP only on your mirrored enemy as he cannot heal nearly as much AP damage. Also the Nelson's armour pattern is almost entirely vulnerable to AP, even heavily angled or bow in he's going to be eating some big numbers. I'd still advocate HE more when you're uptiered...

That's what I found too. Izumo is HUGE so attracts massive HE spam as it's almost impossible to miss her. She is so wide and long and doesn't exactly have huge firepower as a perk. Her secondaries suck too as their coverage is poor but that's the same with Dunkerque and Nelson. I skipped the last 60k or so XP and never looked back. Yam is even fatter but the guns can citadel angled BB at 15km. Oh and RE the rear turret for running. With experience you shouldn't need to turn away much, you just slow down before then and keep firing. That's a better Yam tactic because of her superior guns however.

I laugh at kids who cry for air support. As long as you're sinking the enemy and trying to shoot down red planes then no one can complain. There are CVs who literally don't cover their own fleet or attack anything. Perversely if the enemy CV is better then your team is usually more likely to get more air support as you'll be hanging over friendly AA umbrellas.

Yeah, any discussion that isn't about buffing BB or nerfing DD & Cruisers is a waste of time. WG are "aware" and adding super HE BBs with sAP along with 11km detection. Accept the BB Dominion.

Lel, skip LS on a DD at your peril... Guess cars can be driven without seatbelts too

Lo Yang is nice but you're better off with a Benson unless you want to grind Lo Yang to 19 points from scratch. Pan Asian DDs are coming though... Can't go wrong with Tirp or Scharn. Both are excellent and only user ability will hold them back. Just don't snipe in either!

Is that because of bad players giving you broadsides however? Nelson's AP performance is probably the worst tier for tier I've experienced since that T5 German BB. I can get decent success with it but I seem to do better switching shells. The Lion which I've used in PT can do extremely well with only AP so it's a different animal.

Yeah too many are getting wound up and saying HE is noob or AP needs buffs... As a rule of thumb I find pure AP is possible vs same and lower tier MM. Don't even bother trying to outgun T9 BBs with AP. Otherwise just HE spam and go AP for Cruisers or close up BB work. But whatever works for the individual!

Was wondering why there were no reviews of GZ when I saw it was released earlier... WG magically makes trouble from nowhere whilst most of their minions are off at GamesCom

I bought a Molotov today but I've already got a lot of RU Cruiser experience, I'm at T9 in the DM currently. I'm fairly sure Molotov has DM guns except 9 rather than 12 and shorter range. Basically that means you will do brutal damage to anything in your MM. I've had the Murmansk a lot longer, she's a USN reskin and has far weaker shells that float for seemingly ages in the air. Still you sometimes get the pleasure of bashing T4 noobs in her. Go Molotov if you plan to continue down the RU Cruiser line as she feels like far more of a ship of that line...
