My issue with Aki is simply why bother playing? She's got a high skill floor and at T8 the MM will brutalize you often. If you can do well in her you might as well use a Fletcher, Udaloi or other more effective DD as you'll likely have more of an influence. There is simply little reward for trying. If WG won't buff then nerfing her down to T7 might be interesting as the MM will protect you a bit more. Remove the torp reloader and reduce the rof or something...

I didn't laugh at this either. Same with that Russian Bias Captain in the submarine awhile ago... Still I shouldn't complain, RPF helped give me 2 out of my 3 Rank 1s. In 7v7 it's basically a maphack as it makes your team almost impossible to flank or outspot.

Prem SI is always useful as the cool down is faster too... Nelson should be used at medium range so you can disengage and heal when things start going wrong. The ability to easily rotate the turrets give you far more flexibility than any other BB when you're ducking between islands. It's my favorite RN BB of the new releases so far. KGV is more effective but Nelson is more fun.

I actually like my Gnesi, I use her as a fast mid ranged BB with Manual AA and CE. It's like how I play Kongo and likely a similar method to playing Hood. At mid range you can choose to disengage or push. Going straight in will get you killed even if the guns are accurate. Your speed and armour mean you can dictate whether to actually fight. The guns themselves will reliably pen same or lower tier BB, they're essentially Tirp/Bismarck guns.

Yeah it depends how I'm feeling and how much I want my target dead if potatoes get in the way. I usually just hold fire and let them be even if it costs the team. Meh WG's ethos that we should all play in the same playground...

Having fire discipline doesn't even need someone to be skilled!!

The only sticking point for me is whether I need the 7.2km+ Umbrella of AFT over FP as you'll be HE spammed every game but you'll not encounter CVs who want you dead at all costs often and even if they do, the unbuffed bubble will make them suffer. Next time cheaper Retraining comes up I'll likely reskill more into FP.

Hmm I'd take PM or that x2 Float Plane, EM, SI, CE, AFT (or FP), AR and finally Vigil in that order. A pretty standard BB load out I think. For RN BBs I've taken FP instead of AFT. Vigil as the Crowning skill at the end as torp hits are simply catastrophic against a BB even with a 50% Belt you don't want to be taking any. Angling should be routine so you'll rarely take huge AP damage or at least you'll be expecting it, fire can be dealt with by letting it burn out, with flags and DCP but when you add the risk of being stealth torped it becomes an issue. That's my argument for Vigil anyway!

KGV is awesome, it's so good that I'll likely keep it. Even if I'm moving the 19 point Captain to Monarch when I unlock her just to dine on that sweet Elite XP. I can understand why OP will whine about Monarch as she doesn't have SuperHeal nor SuperHE yet arguably is at the toughest point in the MM with only 15" guns. Still that's an L2P issue as T8 has always had it rough, besides the Lion will make the pain worthwhile I imagine

My understanding is you only get the item the first and only time you achieve it? So basically you either get all 16 Achievements and items for grinding or you pay and exchange? As you can never get Duplicates without buying Containers? I might be missing something here....

Meh, need a T5 German DD and French Cruiser to be 100%... Might have to get the Free XP out. I'm sure more folk will complain about it as quite a few of those achievements are basically encouraging paywall purchasing to complete the Collection. Even myself with 90+ ships will need to Free XP release a few ships to get the set. Although I think it's more or less fair as the rewards for the collection are pretty good and it's rewarding long time players. I imagine the weekend will bring a few more Bonuses too.

Lol that reminds me of a WoT incident, some guy in a Medium tried to overtake my Heavy but since he was Tomato he misjudged the upcoming rock and crashed so shot me in the back like it was my fault. I proceeded to push him in front of an IO and he got derped, I got credits compensation...

I wonder if WG have any idea how well a buffed late war Kongo class ship would sell? Give it excellent AA and better sigma and I think it could do fine at T6.

If in doubt don't fire or torp if there is a risk of hitting your own side. That is all. Anything like like they're AFK, taking up your precious smoke, are stopping you landing a good salvo is irrelevant and if you think it is then carry on team killing.

I'm half tempted to switch AFT for FP, CE is always worth keeping though.

Gearing is so mediocre that I forgot about her when I counted my T10 ships for the Anniversary rewards lol... She's fat so takes big AP BB damage. I'd rather use her slimmer sisters Fletcher and Benson as being the best knife fighter is largely irrelevant when you can't survive being shot when you're spotted. Nice torps I guess...

There is a good Reddit guide, search for Reddit Akizuki WoWS on Google and it should come up. Still, unless you want a challenge then there are better ships out there...

I enjoy playing higher tier USN DDs but they're essentially quite passive. Your guns are self defence and used against other DDs who threaten your team, maybe vs a low HP cruiser you can open up too. Essentially breaking concealment is a death sentence as everyone knows to shoot DDs now and I laugh at rival DDs who try and shoot you, they end up being shredded by your team whilst they're gun bloomed whilst you slip back into concealment as you have fire discipline. I actually don't think the smoke nerfs will do a thing to change this either.
