IFHE reduces your fire chance but it massively hikes your direct damage, especially vs BBs. Might even get citadel strikes vs especially soft shelled cruisers.

I own a Murmansk and with IFHE she's pretty lol vs lower tier ships....

I think we're a bit spoilt with USN and IJN 16" guns at T8, I'd imagine any up coming lines will be 15". German and RN so far, that Italian BB that WG have threatened will be 15". Not sure about French but I'd guess Russian BBs will come with 16"+ just because Russia. The more I play I'm finding this, as the Tirp/Bis has issues with 15" shells penetrating and their HE isn't brilliant. Whereas Mutant Monarch can just go HE and carry on the party... In practical terms I don't find the lower HE chance that big a difference from the firestarter that is KGV.

Only played a few T-22 games but with CE the ship is fine... Strong torps, good concealment and even the guns are pretty decent for a T5 DD.

Yeah it probably won't get many sales but it's an easy way to earn £40+ for a Prem ship as it'll just be Albama tweaks. NA doesn't have nearly as many players as here, you'd wonder why they not focusing more Prems for EU nations. Such as a German DD one...

Well I bought a Alabama, grinded a Missouri plus a Monty. I kept my NC too but might sell her as she's essentially useless now I own an Alabama. Really no point having any more USN higher tier BB, even if this new one has OP radar which I really hope WG doesn't sell out and add... But yes, it's clearly to appeal to all the Mericans as the United States did a lot more to keep their various ships and their heritages than the rest of the world.

I've started trying out the 406mm again even though I am a believer in 420mm. 406mm reload is just that much faster, German BB guns derp anyway so the more you can pump out the better maybe?

All damage is award via a percentage of a ships full HP or something yes so killing a 15k HP DD is worth as much as killing a 70k HP BB. Whilst a BB doesn't get XP for tanking, knowing where to be and drawing fire but no dying naturally gets more XP as your team will live longer and you'll likely win more so the credits earning will increase.

Saipan is probably a WG mistake. It's 4 squadrons are probably the most efficient use of a carrier's squadrons you'll ever see in this game. In Strike you have two ultra fast fighters that rearm lighting fast and will beat any other plane in terms of speed. Plus WG thought they'd buff the planes by making them invincible when strafing out of combat. Likewise the 2 torp bombers are so fast you can often strike an enemy ship before the other CV has even got their first planes into a sensible position. Oh and being only 4 means your own micro is not spread far and wide with loads of sub par planes (like Kaga). But a bit off topic!

Ah yeah you've hit it on the head... Monarch is essentially what the Tirp used to be before they buffed her secondaries and made her a Premium Bismarck. E.g a Mid range Stealth BB with very similar (but more accurate) guns and you've got an ability to HE spam which the Tirp doesn't have.

#1 Cruiser tip: In a big battle let the BBs shoot first. If you shoot first you'll get focused... Let the enemy BBs pound your ones then start shooting. If you get targeted then used WASD and stop, go into concealment. Assess the situation and repeat.

Wait for the next Public Test and see for yourself. That's the best solution. GK=Tanky with derp guns and a pretty good brawler. Yam=Guns have the best penetration of anything in the game. Ultra slow turrets and needs to be played at mid range or further, it encourages BB border sniping which is bad for you. Personally just enjoy the game at the mid tiers, I have 3 T10 BBs and barely play any of them...

OP can join the hordes of T10 lol players and spend 5k doubloons on the Permi camo. Then OP can yolo to his heart's content and not lose any credits

Never too late to switch to IJN... I'd do so before you waste anymore time. Oh and get a Saipan if you want something USN and effective... RE the Ranger, all 3 decks are flawed. 1/1/1 Will just get out outplayed by a good IJN player as he's got double your air groups. Air Sup Is "ok" as you can atleast defend your fleet but your own striking power is slow and again you don't have enough groups. Strike, well some like it but 0 fighters means you will have a miserable time against any good IJN CV. Notice a pattern there? Not saying a Ranger can't do "ok" if you play defensive and prioritise who to strike & defend but it's an up hill battle and if the IJN CV is good then you're pretty screwed.

T8 is arguably the most difficult tier in game, if you can handle it's MM you can handle pretty much anything...

How strange, there are already enough higher tier USN BBs that play essentially exactly the same. Everything from the NC upwards...

I don't think WG ever really recovered since they started giving out Trash modules with SC. I just open them like any other container and don't expect anything amazing inside....

I quite like the Pepsi when I'm in the mood. Although that is rare with RN BBs these days Pepsi is arguably better than an Indianapolis as it has more guns that fire faster. There is at least one mad man out there who has got Rank 1 in a Pepsi...

The game does throw the odd freak shot. Someone got a Citadel on a Tirptiz using Leander guns awhile back but they had screenshots.

Aki needs 3 torps maybe 4 vs well armoured BB to get 30k damage. I went for torp damage first and got it fairly easily. Some of the achievements felt silly but they made sense giving it was a journey through the game's development. Whatever else it forced me to get French Cruisers and German DDs to T5...

Assume it's the 27th as the last "day" for WG events usually end early in the morning!

Francophiles got salty as WG celebrated Bastille Day or whatever it is by giving away a Free French flag with a 30k French Ship grind or something crazy. Very few got it and there was much rage. Then recently WG gave away the same flag for logging in or something equally easy...
